This whole situation has been a valuable lesson in just slowing one's roll, and waiting for things to play out.

Assumed it was a deal, but not even that, it's an outright drop of all charges. Wonder what happened.

Edit: Nevermind, plea bargain. this is what it was always gonna be.

The real charges were the friends we made along the way.

I am so confused by this story. At the end of it all they’re totally gonna make a TV movie out of the damn thing.

Defense probably presented 450 billion pages of internet ridicule and the prosecutor just couldn't bring themselves to pile on.

He did that shit they probably just felt for whatever reason it wasn’t worth bringing to trial or fucked up in the handling somehow.

Wonder if he might still face fed charges for the letter.

Apparently the biggest thing is that the check he wrote to the two brothers wasn't for the attack. So, I mean, he totally still faked all of this. But, their biggest piece of evidence was BS, so they don't think they can successfully charge him.
But didn't the brothers testify that they were hired by Smollet to perform the attack?

That doesn’t sound good to me. I’m not out for blood or anything, but I think if you outright stage a hate crime it’s not inappropriate to throw the book at you. We can’t have people doing stuff like this.
