Lol, the public conservatives on the BBC just there. What you imagine. I liked her as Home Secretary, we want out etc. too. Sitting there retired, living it up. Think I saw pearls too. Ever noticed guests on political shows who have big fancy necklaces are just the worst people.

i'd like to see those tories return to a party with Boris in number 10, just to see their explanation.

Can't let Boris go unchecked etc.

I rejoined so I could vote for another Tory leader.

So, is the Tory leadership contest going to suck up all the remaining time until October or they'll just pull the hard Brexit lever after getting the gig or hi, EU want to reopen the WA, lol.

Yeah. Stop watering down the message. It's like he wants EU elections to flop for remain voters.

I mean, he wants to win as many Labour MEPs as possible and he's seen a significant swing of remain voters in the past week or so to the Lib Dems and Greens, can't really blame him for trying to win them back. Especially as everyone was up in arms about him focusing too much on leave voters.

London
the general election thing doesn't matter, that's up to the Tories and the government, he's essentially backing a new vote.

It's important to see that's farage's money is legit etc, and of course living the lifestyle he does, hanging out with the people he does, makes him a massive hypocrite, but he has to be tackled on the politics.

Just doing stuff like that allows him to say that he's being smeared, that's they haven't got an argument to bring to him on why the EU is worth fighting for.

Maybe it doesn't matter I suppose, perhaps people who fall for his shit were always going to fall for it and they're not worth appealing to. I mean Trump somehow manages to criticise 'elites' while being the most perfect example of one you could find.

However, I think he still needs to be tackled on the politics because focusing on anything else just allows him to bat it away or spin it as 'us against them'. I can't imagine that he will have a strong argument on any genuine policy issues, basic figures, stats etc. This is where I feel the battle against prats like him will be won.

I understand why they do it, but I swear people haven't learned a fucking thing from the referendum and it's build up/campaign.

Hope people don't mind me plugging a thing I've done for a sec!

I've seen a fair few people not sure who they should vote for from a Remain perspective, so I've done a video which goes through each region of the UK and breaks down which Remain parties, if any, are viable. I've also included a bit of an explanation of how the voting system works, so jump to 7:40 if you just want to skip that and find out what your options are. If you're not sure which region you're in, there's a link in the description to where you can find out.

There's a bit of a weird audio desync issue so apologies for that.

People suddenly forgetting how fucking awful the Lib Dems are and voting for them purely on the basis of them supporting remain in an election which has no bearing on whether or not we'll remain is utterly depressing.
If we do remain we're stuck with these MEPs for five years. I hope people consider more than a single issue, one these MEPs have zero say over, when they vote.

I think it's registering a remain vote as much as anything. The same as people voting BP/UKIP in the EU elections.

What exactly is it that makes you hate them?

Why would you vote LD after what happened with student loans. Greens are a way more productive protest vote without the stink of broken promises and austerity.

I will never understand why anyone remotely left-wing could ever bring themselves to vote for the Lib Dems over the Greens.

Many people will see the LDs as a more serious proposition, with more likelihood of getting elected etc.

Would LDs pull that shit again? Do they deserve a second chance or at least consideration?

Back in 2010-15 Labour were also pro cuts too.

Well I assume people are thinking that they won't be going down that road again - if Clegg was still there I could understand the anger more. If their politics in general match up with someone's, I'm sure they'll get the benefit of the doubt.
It's not like they've distanced themselves from the coalition days... Vince Cable is their leader ffs!

I'm still deciding between Greens and Libs in Euros. Part of me thinks Libs, but I remember the shit they did in the past. I guess not thinking Greens is cus I still think of them as a small party? I don't know ha

I sent in my postal vote for the Greens a couple of days ago, as I'm as sick of Labour fencesitting as everybody else. It'll be a cold day in hel before I vote for the libs again.

Greens are viable for more of the country in European elections. London and the South West from memory they should get a seat. Not sure about anywhere else

Libs are the bigger party where I live. Think it was predicted it would be between Brexit party and Dems taking most votes here...

I tend to just vote for whoever isn't Tories or crazy Farage.

Remember Lib Dems/ALDE MEPs will almost certainly support the EPP (main right wing group) candidate for EU commision president over the S&D (main left wing group) one

Damn, I'm in the West Midlands and REALLY don't want to vote for Labour. I hate this area.

This is the thing that's really galling to me - I'm supposed to believe that pro-remain people really believe in the EU and our place there, but then they will either ignore or be totally ignorant of points like this.

Yeah he is, I'm just looking at reasons why people would vote for them. Things aren't so black and white.

I voted Green, pretty sure I'll vote Labour in a GE, but it's all Tory where I'm registered in Suffolk, so LD might be a better bet.

Actually just looked at the 2017 GE result and it was about 36k Con, 18k Lab and 3.5k LD, so I'll be voting Labour in a GE unless anything massive changes.

I don't get voting Labour at all. Unless you are sat on the fence yourself.
Labour MEPs will sit in the Socialists and Democrats group. It's the second biggest group and I would rather we send MEPs to bolster that, because I'm voting with consideration for what happens if we remain and not wasting it on a pointless protest vote that won't actually impact our chances of remaining.

I can't vote for them EU wise while Corbyn is in charge

I think a lot of people don't understand how the EU Parliament works, but can still be very Pro-EU in terms of solidarity, shared values, standards and rights etc, keeping the peace, a bigger, united voice in the world etc.

Well they should consider who the MEPs are that they'll be sending over and the values they'll stand for in the European Parliament, not just their view on a second referendum.
