I need an eBay opinion. I sold something on ebay for $30, so nothing big (an old CPU). I had no returns set. The buyer has had it for almost three weeks now and sent me a request to do a return, saying he simply changed his mind and wants a different CPU. Despite me saying no returns, I feel like if I say no he'll just turn around and say it's broken now and ebay will give him the refund any way. One would think his previous message would protect me, but it's also ebay. I kind of thought about telling him I'd accept the return, but charge him for my shipping and paypal fees (since paypal no longer refunds their fees).
What would you good people do?

Considering you have documentation of him telling you that he changed his mind and wants a different CPU, I think you'd be fine if he tried saying it's broken now. I guess it just comes down to how much hassle you want to deal with for a $30 sale.

I usually charge them a restocking fee if they think I'm like a retail store. Usually something crazy so that they keep the item.
Like I'd say "I'll accept the return but they'll be a $10 restocking fee so you'll only get $20 back"

Yeah, I am torn between being annoyed since the listing said no returns, but also appreciating that he was honest at least. I think I am going to offer him the refund minus the shipping and paypal fees, and hope that that is a big enough chunk for him to just decide to keep it. Whatever, it's only $30.

WTB The Witcher books. I just finished The Last Wish and I'm hooked. I'm looking for the first three books in particular but I'm also interested in a full or close to full set.
As the other person said it's fine. I had an idiot message me regarding a CE box saying his arrived damaged so he wanted to make sure the one I was selling was perfect, which it was . Sent it, he opened a paypal case saying it arrived damaged (impossible due to the amount of packaging i did) . Showed paypal the messages where he said he alreaddy had a damaged item and they ruled in my favor. It was also a similar value so i didn't understand why someone would go through the effort to try and scam me for such bs.
I think your suggestion is a pretty reasonable thing to do. It' s possible that he'll change his mind and not bother with the return. Unfortunately, this sort of thing is just the cost of doing business.

The Witcher books are dirt cheap on amazon, I doubt you'll find a better deal here....

They're offering half value to sell at 110% value. I'd be willing to pay half value for a like new used copy, maybe even 30 for that. 20 is my starting price based on condition. There's people trying to sell just the game's case for 10 bucks and game only no case for 30-40. If you were to slap just the cart on the table and tell me to buy it, I'm not goin a dime over 20.
