Without wanting to start too huge a discussion (point me somewhere else if there's a better place for the question) does anyone have any thoughts on alternative payment methods than PayPal, which are equally "safe" for sellers here? Just bought something for $44 from the UK, and after PayPal's poor exchange rate and also an extra fee they add for conversion, it cost me almost £40. I have an app I can use to send bank transfers to the US and it would have cost a bit over £35 via that - it doesn't charge a fee and the exchange rate it uses is one that is way better than PayPal's. £4 isn't a MASSIVE amount, but across a few purchases that adds up real quick, and it's kinda money that's just gone nowhere.
Obviously this is no one's fault here, it's entirely on PayPal, but I wondered if people were using other stuff to send funds, or whether there was a much better thing we could all be encouraging everyone to use to minimise these kinds of things? It might not be worth the hassle, I'm not sure how much of the business done here requires currency conversion, I just feel less and less happy using PayPal!
