I tried Tracker when I unlocked it, but it seemed painfully underwhelming. I guess I'll give it another try.

Not going to be able to get 155. If I had gotten max level before the double exp maybe but man it really slows down in terms of gaining levels around 110s.

I just don't understand the minimap/compass half measure implementation.

I don't even care from a gameplay preference standpoint anymore, it just seems like such an ugly design decision, filled with redundancy. Two different hud elements to look at with bleed-over in information on display? Yikes

Regarding Cecot - I don't even think the game needs much change anymore (in terms of line items):

- SBMM tuning/removal
- Further reduction in global footstep audio
- Keep pumping out new maps to water down the bad ones
- Minimap/compass IW needs to face reality on the poor design choice

That's pretty much it, no?

They should have had the guts to leave the minimap off completely like it was in the original beta.

yeah I noticed this too, gave up on it last night because at level 140 I knew in a couple of hours I stood no chance so just accepted the fact.

I guess I can take solace in the fact that as someone who refuses to use the M4 until it's properly balanced (or the other guns are buffed to be similar in strength), I won't be missing out on that variant.

Tracker is an interesting perk. My only issue is that is massively distracts me from what is happening around me, as soon as I see prints. It mostly gets me killed because I run around looking at the floor haha.

It's frankly a bit hilarious to me how quickly they reverted the minimap decision and just opted to leave the confusing minimap/radar combination in the game. I literally never look at the radar.

In the early tests I actually liked the changes. Then they backed down and threw in what we have now.

This is why I've never used it. I'm all about increasing my awareness, but that seems almost like a distraction to me

Agreed. I tried it a few times but it gets me killed more often than not. After spending ages playing with various perks, it's pretty clear there are only a few good ones and even fewer God tier must haves.

Neither on Shoot House nor in Gunfight matches I even have the time to watch the minimap. Most times that spawn "zoom in" camera move helps me more lol

As far as the Battle Royale mode - does anyone know if that's still on track for January / February?

God am I such an idiot for caving and buying this game despite knowing very well I wouldn't enjoy it. I convinced myself that it had to be better than the experience I had in beta and everything I've seen from videos.

Beyond the visuals, I can't find a single redeeming quality about this game. Matches have no ebb and flow. It's beautiful mediocrity that encourages a game style that this franchise never had before. Some decisions are baffling, such as the sound whoring, the mini-map, the perk system regression, the camping emphasis, the map complexity and verticality - all of this shit is the antithesis to what I like in COD.

Damn it. I bought this from Walmart for $39. I need to sell it immediately. I was really hoping my opinion would change after getting the game but it's only gotten worse.

So they are at fault for not commenting on someone else's speculation but gamers are not at fault for being clingy, socially inept psychos online? Take a step back, it is not okay to act this way.
They've not communicated with their community at all with the hot topics and the game has been out over a month so yes, they're at fault. Also, I didn't absolve the people being nasty and rude.

The point I'm making is all this could've been avoided had they kept an open line of communication with the community.

they could have denied the rumours 4 weeks ago.
Just a simple "yo the overhaul is bullshit".

Could have been done from the Call of Duty Twitter Account or Activision , i dont care.

"Big update that you guys are all asking about"

Either they are completely out of touch with their community and their wants, or flat out stupid, or both.

I wonder if there was a notification to set up when this game pulls a COD:WW2.

COD community seems to always find new reasons to act petty towards these developers. First angry because patch did not mean download, then when the unconfirmed overhaul was not the update, and now because they did not deliver on the overhaul by November when they never confirmed or made any sort of announcement in the first place? Incredibly, it is still the developers fault?

Cod Community is big . Its not Insurgency sandstorm. Im always hearing "the cod community , the cod community is....." bla bla.

Also you should be busy playing Modern Warfare.

Im not attacking any developer. Many things could have been avoided.

You're making excuses for them. If you look outside the box of video games, the relationship is fuckin weird.

Just a simple "yo the overhaul is bullshit".

There are plenty of other huge industries that don't have people directly messaging the designers of the product. If I don't like my vacuum, I'm not tracking down the engineers on twitter to spam them. It's not healthy behavior and like I said above, it's weird as hell.

And that warrants the level and scale of the vitriol on Twitter for what? Take a step back and get some perspective. Go describe the situation to someone who doesn't live video games.

"Yeah and the developers said there was going to be a big update but it wasn't that big so we the community sent them thousands of messages and threats."

Seems like the response of a stable and reasonable group of people to a video game update.

I never said that warrants people sending death threats to developers, don't know where you pulled that from chief.

We are talking about a popular FPS ONLINE Multiplayer Game in 2019.

Its should be obvious that most of the playerbase are gonna use the Internet forr communication. But yeah Industry.

Lets call the actvision support and talk about the minimaps and dead silence.

Edit: they could make statements and deactivate commenting , if thats possible .

That's pretty much it for me. I've been playing so much lately because of the double exp grind to 155, and after nights of s&d, gunfight tournament, and .357 grinding in hardcore, I've slowly started to respect a lot of what's gone into this game. I've even started to develop an appreciation for the maps because of how many different angles and entrance ways there are to the buildings in this game

Still, I think something has to be done to weapon balance and perk balance, and I think it's more than just nerfing guns (they need to nerf the M4 though). I think there should be a universal increase to ads speed and sprint-to-aim speed. With the low ttk you can easily kill someone 5 times over before they can even aim their weapon. This causes the issue of excess camping, angle-holding, and is partly what makes overkill shotguns/snake shot so powerful - because they can easily kill with hipfire. As nice as the gunsmith is, I feel that it's potential for creating diversified loadouts is going to be stifled by the fact that only a few attachments help solve the ads and mobility issue. Recoil isn't significant in this game; therefore, might as well run no-stock, tac-laser, and whatever grip tape will increase your mobility stat. I'm assuming that the base ads speed is also what causes so many to stick with the M4 for so long. Sure, it's the most powerful AR in the game, but that blueprint they gave to mostly everyone with the tac laser, silence barrel, etc is incredibly effective. So much so that there's little incentive to hop off the gun for a minute. I fell into that rut, and the M4 is still my most used gun even though I haven't ran it for weeks. From what i recall, ads speed and sprint-out time was something that was addressed in the WW2 overhaul, so that's the improvement I was mostly hoping for here. Everything else that i could want (like scorestreaks instead of killstreaks) are clearly off the table

Also, even though i have no intention of playing spec-ops, it sounds like IW really did players dirty with that mode. I was expecting a series of short and sweet co-op missions like MW2, and it sounds to me like players really just ended up with a half-baked wave survival mode

Yes, they are at fault for their absolutely horrendous communication.

Oh they love to post about how much fun they have playing Gunfight, responding to people talking up the game, or the most broken issues

But they literally ignore anything that's more of a personal choice.
The most they said on the radar was Cecot "its working as we intended"

They haven't even talked about the broken Spec-ops mode.

And when they do adjust something like the difficulty or footstep sound they are so damn stubborn they change it by .1%

After 5 days of cumulative play, I like the game a lot. Just like every cod, with time and map learning, it becomes a lot easier to run and gun without fear of campers. 2 perk configurations. EOD (coldblooded to shoot down a vtol), killchain (ghost when I don't have a rocket launcher to kill a UAV), shrapnel (gotta have two explosives at all times). As for weapons, all I play is hardcore tdm or domination and the smg class is my go to. Currently doing a gold camo run and the uzi is a joy to use, just need to get 20 more mounted kills to move on to the final weapon, the bizon pp19. Kill streak is usually the vtol, chopper gunner and the gunship. Since I'm doing the ribbons, I have it set to vtol, white phosphorus and then the gunship. Only have 1 star left but not going to complete this season (haven't done the knife or shield kills or FFA), found out about the ribbons a bit late.

In short, the game is fun, once you find the weapon class and perks that works for you, the next step will be learning the maps and how the spawn system works. ADS speeds can be increased with attchements but you lose weapon stability and recoil control for some weapons, which is why I run with smgs, being able to hip fire right away from sprint is very useful when rushing. I still hate playing core modes, definitely not for me. TTK is too long at range

Honorable mentions, amp is a good perk when running an rpg as secondary or overkill

I am at 140 hours with the game. Have not missed a day since it came out. Have done every loot daily, every mission, every Officer challenge. About half the guns fully leveled. Two gold camos. I am SO looking forward to season one.

I just have to wonder why my experience with the game is so different from what I see shared often here and on reddit. I do not feel the "strong" SBMM like people say. Matches feel pretty random and all over the place. I don't feel like there is a strong correlation between me doing well in a few games to facing more difficult opponents. Like all CODs I have good matches and bad matches. But I can have long streaks of doing above average or really well.

I know objective modes are really popular but I almost exclusively play 6v6 TDM. The only time I play anything else is if I have to do it for a challenge. I wonder if that's why things feel so different for me?

I can't fathom how lack of communication warrants any of this. It's time to grow up.

Do we have any idea yet how long the Season 1 lasts and how long it takes to level up 1 tier? Saw one video on CharlieINTEL with the commentator estimating 1 hour for 1 tier and the timer was like 36 days.

Nobody deserves deaththreats over a stupid video game but they easily deserve the regular hate and outrage.
They have completely ignored regular discussion for over a month, of course people are getting upset
Cecot was riding fan expectations from that "lie" for over a month without one word on it, then quietly says its a lie right as the big DLC and mtx systems release keep attention away from it and make mtx money.
