I thought it's basically just time based and therefor shouldn't be affected by the xp boost?
Oh, it's real alright. Real bad.
I enjoy smaller maps sometimes, and Shoot House is a example of a great smaller map. Shipment is not that. It's a tiny map that should never be used for anything beyond 2 vs 2 matches. 6 v 6 on that map is just a cluster fuck and I'm shocked Infinity Ward ever thought it should be used for 6 v 6.
Do the blueprints give you some gameplay benefit other than just unlocking attachments early? I hate stuff like "do X times Y" and would rather ignore that stuff completely.
Oh Shipment. Pulled this gem of a clip yesterday.
I don't know, every once in awhile it's fun to just give yourself over to the mayhem.
Shipment is actual garbage trash and impossible to like.
This nuke felt better than my first one - mostly because people reacted and we were going to lose if I didn't call it in
Man holy shit. If you keep using the Holger-26 till you can turn it into an AR... It can actually be incredible.
That's impressive! I love the person who seemed utterly confused saying "how did you do that!?" Over and over.
What gun and sight was that? Any tips for racking up high killstreaks? (Other than gitgud)
I pretty much only use the Kilo (sometimes the mp5). Here are the attachments I use:
I got Dark Matter in blops 3 and blops 4 but I just don't have the "camo unlock bug" in this game for whatever reason, so I typically stick with those.
Regarding strategy, basically just learning the map and reading where the enemy team might be coming from based on which team has what points and which side of the map their "base" is located (leaving a certain amount of room in the back of your mind that an enemy might be anywhere because ground war is chaotic). It also requires a ton of luck to get a 30 gun streak, anyone who says otherwise is lying (unless they are some lame who spawn exploits on shipment or something similar)
This clip of my nuke on tavorsk highlights the process https://youtu.be/gnwIju0az4o
What's your general thought process for attachments? I usually try go to for ADS increases and then some stability ones to balance. I still haven't found time to watch someone break down the attachments on youtube so I can figure out how they actually work in-game rather than the descriptions.
The Kilo might be my next gun to try out. I also got Dark Matter in Black Ops 4 but definitely won't in this game. I do almost have the RAM-7 gold so I'm looking for other options to keep the game fresh.

I am 100% an ADS addict. I'll always prioritize ADS speed, sometimes to my detriment. If I can find a way to couple that with increased damage range and suppression (which I believe the whisper barrel mod does on the Kilo), even better.
Kilo has a 60mag mod that's awesome (it actually has a 100 drum mag as well but I find that's a bit too much handling slowdown for me)
I generally try to equip anything that will help with recoil. Unless it's a sniper, because then who cares about recoil?

Some of the camo unlocks are just tedious.
Like, get 75 long shots with an SMG......but why?

Agreed. And then the numbers are hilarious. When I was going for the RAM7 hold it was 160 crouching kills and I think 100 mounted kills? Holger26 was like, 45 mounted kills and 100 crouching kills, I think. I feel like mounting an lmg makes more sense.
There needs to be some kind of grind to gold or the game gets stale. The SMG longshots are trivial by equipping your SMG for range (make it long+magnify optic) and playing hardcore. Used to be easier on Shoothouse but there are certain spots on Shipment where you can hang and get a few longshots.
Equip Perk Killchain. Get enough kills for a VTOL, find a place to hide, and then call in the VTOL. Cross your fingers and hope someone hasn't equipped an FMJ LMG - rack in the kills (you only need two from it).
Chopper Gunner after VTOL is very effective (just hope someone doesn't find you hiding) - then white phosphorus (but don't kill yourself by being under the flight path).
Makes it so you only have to get nine kills and then pray no one sees you.
I will say after getting all of my officer ribbons I no longer run killstreaks in favor of running specialist.
Killchain killstreak kills don't apply towards a nuke. You need 30 gun only kills, straight up.
edit: my bad, upon re-reading it seems you just meant how to get high streaks in general
I use commando but I don't really know how its effects translate in-game. I just know that it has some benefits without hurting ADS.
No exactly, some of the challenges are just counter productive to the design of that weapon. And other guns are super easy. I got the gold camo for the Origin 12 in literally like 4 hours from rank 0. It was that easy.
No I agree, and if you wanted to make it a grind you could have done a higher number of headshots, or hipfire, or do something like get 100 kills with a specific scope, or a specific attachment etc.
I just hate having to use a gun in a way that isn't productive just to unlock camos. I'm not saying I CAN'T get longshots with an SMG, but it's annoying and less productive than just using a gun designed for longer ranges like an AR or a Marksman rifle.
It would be like a sniper rifle having a camo unlock for 40 hipfire kills......that's just not enjoyable.
Thanks, cheers!Definitely have a point about that metric (longshots with SMGs) standing out. Especially in contrast to the camo challenges for pistols or launchers which are, as you note, more suited to those weapons in question. Like double kills or taking out equipment.
It feels kinda gross that they effectively encourage camping by making us do all of those mounted kills...
I'm just hoping for a double battlepass level weekend like last time, I hardly played then but I have a bit more time on my hands now so hopefully it's going to be after this weekend. I'm at about level 50 but I'd like to get to 70+ and then I may consider buying it.
I only find myself using a few specific attachments, because when I try to negate a weapon's downsides too much, I wind up with impossibly bad recoil or intensely slow weapon handling.I think I might like COD more without the 100 different attachments. Kinda seems like bloat at a certain point.
I want a real update, like Joe Ceacot said we were getting last week.I bet this sells
Playlist update is out, usually goes live at 2 Eastern
