they already sold 12 MP maps to the season pass holders so I think they will still follow the old (3-4 bundle) plan. also just looked back to BO3 and they released the first pack 2 months after launch.
Bundling maps together into map packs makes no sense when it's all locked behind the Season Pass anyway

what are your fav operator mods that i should grind out? i just have the lmg titan right now cuz its been my primary loadout while getting acclimated with the game. the two shotgun ones sound fun though...one sounds like incendiary rounds from ww2 and the other sounds like you get a strobelight blinding effect for ADSing someone? lol

Finally got Dark Matter, took a pretty long time of grinding though. Unfortunately I think the skin looks pretty bad so I'm probably not going to use it all that much, but it's still nice to have it if they ever change it. If anyone wants some tips for specific weapons or general stuff go ahead and ask.

Spitfire is awesome. That thing wins upclose gunfights without attachments in Core. In BO4 that is amazing, Also, unless you have High Caliber, headshots are almost worthless in this game. As for the camos just aim for the chest, squeeze the trigger and ride that recoil to head shot city.

This game can absolutely go fuck itself.

Needless to say I was in a bad position, getting cornered by the last two players in the game in a duo with next to no cover except a tree and that barrier I planted. But that molotov clearly left my hand before I crouched, even if we were to assume I had already crouched, the character clearly throws them over-handed and your head is exposed when crouched behind barricades in this game, so it would be physically impossible for my throw to even hit the barricade.

I don't care about losing in most cases, but that molotov in particular would have hit the guy I was aiming at had it gone off properly and I could've then rushed him considering how bad of a shot his sniper buddy in the back was and may have won the game. I feel as if the game cheated me and actively stole my chance at winning the game.

It may sound petty and absurd, but this single blight might make me quit the game it upset me so much.

I can only assume that you play on console because on PC I legit think it's the best weapon in the game by a pretty significant margin. The gun is so much better at close range then every other gun in the game (with the only one that really comes that close being the Saug) that if you run into someone using it often you're just dead and there's nothing you could have done about it. Sure, the gun does almost nothing at long range but firstly on most maps like 90% of the gunfights occur within 20 meters which is well within it's effective range, (or at least you can easily stick to areas that play to its strengths) and secondly with decent recoil control you can full auto with it at pretty reasonable ranges and although it's not quite the powerhouse that it is at close range, it can go toe-to-toe with pretty much every weapon up until when the gun starts getting to 8+ shots to kill. The gun's TTK and handling are so absurdly fast. If you're having troubles with the recoil I'd probably try using Laser Sight 2, Gung-Ho, (That perk is by far the best tier 2 already so if anything you should be using it on pretty much all the classes) and Extended Mags because it's extremely difficult to be even able to kill 2 people in 1 clip and the Spitfire is honestly a gun that's pretty good at 1v2ing otherwise because of how fast you can kill people.

Nah I'm on PC. I should've said it sucked for getting headshots, but I finally got them done. I like the gun with the wildfire OP mod, I don't like it without it. Got to reload after every kill which is the downside. It had a big damage drop off at a pretty short range though.

I gotcha. I've heard other people complaining about getting headshots done with the Spitfire but I personally didn't find it any more difficult then any of the other SMGs. (If anything I'd say that the GKS was the hardest because I think it's a pretty terrible gun to actually use so actually killing stuff with it period is a challenge) I personally don't like the Wildfire mod because it eats through ammo so fast to the point where you completely have to run Scavenger on it if you want to be able to kill more then 3 people in a life and it makes the gun a lot harder to handle at 10-20m compared to no rapid. On top of that the gun I feel really doesn't need the mod to be able to outgun other weapons when you're in the range where Wildfire is actually a benefit. The fact that you have to run Scavenger and Ex mags on it basically means that 6 of your class points, one of your 2 single point attachment slots, and your tier 1 perk are already decided which gives you a lot less options for everything else. I don't think that the mod is necessarily terrible and it's definitely fun to use. But I feel like at least for me the mod makes the gun less well-rounded and makes it better at something that it was already by far the best in the game at while making it worse at mid range, worse at taking out multiple targets, and requires a lot more of your pick 10 points to function well compared to the gun without the mod which I feel largely just needs Ex mags as I feel like you get an alright amount of ammo without Scavenger if you're aiming well and going for melee kills when they make sense.

Since we're talking about Operator Mods, I'll do a "tier list" of them because someone was asking for them earlier:

Pretty much upgrades the gun, would strongly recommed using it if you plan on using the gun at all tier:
> Outlaw (Base gun is easily the worst sniper as it fills a niche that is not remotely good. Mod turns it into a superpowered 3 round burst weapon that is still not great IMO but a lot better then being the strictly worst sniper)
> Mozu (One of the funnest mods, the Mozu without this mod is strait up not worth using as the Strife is much more well-rounded and less dependent on class points to make usable)

Powerful/fun to use sidegrade tier:
> Mog 12 (Make people that didn't pick Stim Shot hate their life even more then they already do)
> Saug 9mm (Haven't really seen much of this since it got nerfed, but I think it's still a pretty strong option if you want an uber powerful close range weapon that's fairly easy to use)
> Hades (IMO the funnest mod, and both massively changes the weapon's playstyle and is very effective)

Some people really like these mods tier:
Spitfire (Wildfire is pretty fun, don't let my rant above scare you from it)
Swordfish (I prefer High Cal to make it a 1-burst kill but if you don't like going for headshots but still want a 1-burst this is a great option too)
ABR (On paper it doesn't actually improve the gun THAT much but I like the gun's feel with this mod on far more then the base version)
SG12 (They already nerfed it but the mod is still extremely annoying to play against, and personally I found that holding down ADS while still hip firing with the SG made me much more accurate with it)
Auger (Can give this gun a disgusting TTK but requires pretty sharp shooting. Less forgiving then the no mod version)

Can be useful for niche/suboptimal strategies tier:
GKS (It basically turns it into a different gun. Unfortunately I feel like both the full auto and 4-round burst versions aren't good or worth using seriously)
Strife (The knife is a pretty good upgrade for where you should be using the gun, the trouble is that it's a designated secondary weapon that you're spending 3 points on. If you want a secondary that can 1-shot melee people just use the Combat Knife)

Very underpowered and IMO not worth using unless they get buffed tier:
Maddox (Doesn't help with TTK much and makes the gun a bit harder to control. Lots of class points for not much benefit)
Vapr (spending 3 class points on something you can replicate by shooting once before meleeing them. The gun already is pretty solid at close range so you're fixing something that wasn't a problem)
Strelok (I'll be honest I've never used or seen someone use this. I also am absolutely horrible at sniping. Even still I'd rather have Quickdraw 1 and 2 as well as High Cal before thinking of going for this, and that's already 5 of your class points without even factoring in if you put a sight on it so you don't have the room for it)
Cordite (Using Extended Mags gives you more sustained fire then the Belt feed does. If you REALLY want to have tons of reserve ammo then it might be worth considering because it does give you more then double the starting ammo but other then that you should have no troubles finding times where you can reload with Ex mags and spare yourself the 2 class points)

Actually a joke tier:
Titan (Is bizarrely countered by just aiming, the effect is annoying but likely won't actually change the fight in your favor. Probably wouldn't be worth it if it were just 1 point)
VKM (The effect barely increases the bullet's hitbox. Once again not worth using)

TL:DR I'd recommend grinding out everything in "Some people really like these mods tier" and above. Anything below that can be fun to mess with but IMO shouldn't be prioritized.

I actually think you hit the tree if anything. Your throw was messy with that constant movement. I wouldn't put this on the game at all if I did that throw.

I guess put it in slow mo and try to see what went wrong. I've seen bigger steamers thinking things like hit detection were off only to put it in replay in slow-mo to notice and acknowledge they were possibly off.

I'd really love it if I'd stop getting into MP servers that are 80-150 ping please thanks. It's happening more and more lately and it's driving me insane to the point I'm probably gonna start leaving when I join one.

The "one shot body shot" weapon(s) are slowly killing my interest in this game. There is too much insta kill stuff anyway.
Takes forever to find a MP match today in Europe too.

Here's my thinking after almost 2 months of playing Blackout...I think they should nerf any weapon that has the ability to kill with one shot. I understand that will piss off a lot of snipers here but the game is so heavily in favor of the sniping that it makes it unfair to anyone who doesn't have the sniper rifle - especially if the end game ends up in a wide open area which it does 85% of the time.

If they don't nerf the snipers then the other easier fix is to just start making the end game land in actual named locations where there's usually buildings and cover which forces more close range fights. I rarely, if ever, see this happen. It almost always ends Turbine or that hill area by Array or somewhere near the beach. All wide open areas. I can't remember the last time I saw the game end at Firing Range, Rivertown, Cargo or Construction.

EDIT: To be clear, I'm still loving the shit out of Blackout just making an observation here.

i wish activating perks in Blackout was faster on the console. I dont know if its the same on PC but I wish the button hold to activate was just a touch quicker.

And come on Treyarch, give console players the same options for the HUD in MP as the PC players(aka disabling the stupid health bars!).

Operation Absolute Zero: Multiplayer
Operation Absolute Zero introduces our first new post-launch Specialist: Zero, a versatile and deadly hacker available in both Multiplayer and Blackout. In Multiplayer, Zero can disrupt and distract her enemies using the powerful hacking tools at her disposal, bringing new counteractive measures to the table in Black Ops 4. Players can unlock Zero by completing Tier 1 in the newly revamped Black Market and immediately start testing out her wonderful new toys.

BO4_Op2_zero_fm_1920x1280.jpg

Three new earnable Multiplayer weapons make their debut in Operation Absolute Zero via Contraband tiers in the Black Market – the Daemon 3XB SMG, SWAT RFT assault rifle, and Secret Santa melee weapon – along with new Weapon Camos, Reactive Camos, and Reticles to unlock along the way. Players can also immediately get their hands on these new weapons in Blackjack's Gun Game, one of our Featured Multiplayer playlists starting next week on PS4, and through Blackout weapon drops.
Watch for more Featured MP playlists throughout the rest of the year, as well as our new Holiday Event starting Dec. 13 on PS4 with new seasonal items to unlock. Also, read on below for details on the evolution of the new Black Market with this update, and all the ways we've improved how players will unlock exciting new content for Multiplayer and Blackout through gameplay in all three modes.

Operation Absolute Zero: Blackout
Next up: Blackout. Everything changes next week with Operation Absolute Zero.
On December 10, we're setting the stage with several hotly-anticipated updates to the core Blackout experience for all platforms, including our new Armor repair system, audio improvements, SDM and Spitfire weapon balancing, and seasonal changes across the entire map.
Players will immediately notice the map's new visual updates as soon as they jump out of the helicopter, from seasonal changes in foliage and softer winter lighting, to new smoke trails to better indicate where everyone is dropping. Subtle environmental improvements are also coming to Nuketown Island, Hydro Dam, and Factory – see if you can spot what's new on Monday, and watch for our patch notes with more details on these updates next week.
Then, we turn things up a notch on December 11 when Hijacked debuts on PS4 as our newest Blackout destination, located on the peaceful waters of the map's northwest quadrant. Inspired by the classic Treyarch Multiplayer map, our favorite luxury yacht becomes everyone's new favorite hot drop in Blackout.
Once you make it to dry land, hop into the new ARAV armored vehicle with a friend and light up your foes with its turret-mounted machine gun. Players can also drop in as Zero after unlocking her, or as one of the four zombie-killing gladiators from IX after finding and completing the brand-new set of Blackout Zombies Character Missions.
We're also amping up our collection of personalization items that can be used in Blackout in the new and improved Black Market, including new unlockable Blackout characters, new Epic Specialist Outfits, shared Warpaints, and more personalization items to use in the world of Blackout. Players will also find new weapons throughout Blackout starting December 11 on PS4 – try dropping into Firing Range next week to get your hands on the new hardware before anyone else does.
On top of the free content kicking off next week, there's even more coming to Blackout soon with the addition of Custom Games, Weapon Camos, Stash interface updates on consoles, holiday map decorations, throwable Snowballs, new seasonal Special Event Tiers, in-game promos, gameplay improvements, and more.

Operation Absolute Zero: Zombies
For our Zombies players, the team has been fiercely dedicated to making our biggest day-one collection of Zombies experiences even better with each new update. We've made continuous gameplay and stability improvements since launch across all four maps, and next week, we're proud to introduce three new free features for Zombies players on all platforms: Daily Callings, the Black Ops Authenticity Stamp system, and Daily Tier Skips for Zombies.

Blog_TierSkip_AuthStamp_120718.jpg

Daily Callings provide new gameplay challenges that reward Zombies players with bonus XP and Nebulium Plasma upon completion. Be sure to check the Zombies Barracks for each day's new challenge to maximize your earnings, level up faster, and concoct even more Elixirs and Talismans for your next record-breaking run.
Want to prove your zombie-slaying prowess to the world? For the first time in Zombies history, the new Black Ops Authenticity Stamp system gives players the ability to verify and share the results of their game online with a personalized code generated at the end of each match. The Black Ops Authenticity Stamp website tracks a variety of stats, including:
  • Number of kills, deaths, downs, revives, headshots, and rounds survived
  • Map selection, game type, numbers of players, and difficulty attempted
  • Special Weapons, Equipment, and Talismans used
  • Perks and Elixirs equipped
  • Number of Elixirs consumed
  • Match duration, score spent, final score, and more
We've also heard the community's requests for a path to earn Black Market Tier progression by playing Zombies, and we're happy to announce the addition of the Daily Tier Skip for Zombies! Starting next week, simply complete 15 rounds in one game of Classic Zombies each day for your daily bonus Black Market Tier.
With an unprecedented amount of Zombies experiences released by the end of this year, we've never been more committed to delivering new and exciting content for our Zombies community. Next week's launches of Daily Callings, Black Ops Authenticity Stamp, and Daily Tier Skip in Zombies are just the beginning, as we're also kicking off our limited-time Winter Calling event in Zombies with new seasonal personalization rewards to unlock starting December 13 on PS4.
We'll continue to roll out more new features and gameplay content in 2019, including Factions, new seasonal Event Callings, Phase 2 of the Black Ops Authenticity Stamp system featuring deeper player stats, and additional gameplay improvements, free for all players. More details to come!

Evolution of the Black Market
Picture1.jpg

The Black Market has been newly revamped for the launch of Operation Absolute Zero to streamline the system, make Tier progression simpler and more rewarding, and add new types of content that have been commonly requested from the community. Players have also asked for the ability to mix and match Warpaints with different outfits, and gain access to Warpaints without having to own a corresponding outfit. Starting December 11, we're bringing all of this... and then some.
The new Contraband stream kicks off with 100 Tiers designed to deliver a more diverse and exciting collection of items to earn, with themes built around every 25 Tiers and more opportunities to use personalization items in new ways. Here's what to expect on day one:
  • 100 Clearly Defined Tiers: We've streamlined the progression experience by reducing the initial Tier showcase from 200 to 100. Every reward for the first 100 Tiers can be previewed in the Black Market right off the bat, so you can always track your progress toward your next favorite new item.
  • New Earnable Weapons: We're introducing our first batch of new earnable weapons in the Operation Contraband stream to deploy in your Multiplayer loadouts, including the Daemon 3XB SMG, SWAT RFT assault rifle, and Secret Santa melee weapon.
  • New Specialist Unlock: Operation Absolute Zero begins in the Black Market with our new Specialist, Zero, unlockable at Tier 1 for use in Multiplayer and Blackout.
  • New Item Categories and More Diverse Content: Weapon Camos, Reactive Camos, Reticles, shared Warpaints and new Mastercraft cosmetic weapon variants have been added to the Black Market by popular demand! Each Reactive Camo unlocked in the Black Market is uniquely designed for its designated weapon, while new Weapon Camos can be equipped across multiple weapons.
  • New Mastercrafts: Players can now earn new Mastercraft weapon variants in the Black Market, including new ABR 223 Mastercraft for tactical rifle fans.
  • New Blackout characters: Our Ultimis Zombies heroes are coming to Blackout in the Black Market! Keep an eye out for old-school Nikolai, unlockable at Tier 45.
  • New Shared Warpaints: To give players more freedom to personalize their Black Ops 4 experience, Warpaints can now be equipped with outfits across different Themes on the same Specialist.
  • Reserves Now Start at Tier 101: Players will earn cosmetic Reserve content after unlocking the first 100 Tiers of Black Market content, including all-new personalization items and a new Mastercraft. And if you haven't completed the collection of Reserve items from Operation First Strike, don't worry – they're still included in Reserves for Operation Absolute Zero.
  • Content Changes: While we're also introducing new Gestures, Calling Cards, and additional personalization items along with the new content mentioned above, we aren't adding any new Decals for Specialist Outfits to the loot pool to ensure every item earned can be immediately equipped and enjoyed in the game. As with the rest of the game, we'll continue to refine the Black Market experience as the Operation continues.
  • Daily Tier Skip for Zombies: As we mentioned above, all Zombies players can earn a bonus Daily Tier Skip in the Black Market by completing 15 rounds in a game of Classic Zombies each day.

The Black Ops 4 Competitive Season

Finally, as we kick off the new Call of Duty World League season this weekend with our first major CWL event in Las Vegas, we're already looking ahead to early 2019 with the upcoming debut of the World League Hub in Black Ops 4.
After laying the initial groundwork for our CWL feature set with CWL Custom Games, CODCaster, and the Live Event Viewer on PS4, our sights for competitive play are now set on delivering the full suite of World League Hub features as soon as possible. While many of these features were initially planned to release in December, we are spending a little more time in development to give these features the polish that our competitive players expect and deserve. Here are the upcoming feature plans:
  • December 7:
    • Live Event Viewer (launching with CWL Las Vegas on PS4)
  • Scheduled for early 2019:
    • League Play Events
    • Gauntlets
    • Clans and Teams

Most of my friends have been slowly migrating back to Fortnite from blackout (console), the whole black market thing just feels grossly indefensible and greedy when compared to Fortnite. The new patch sounds interesting but also sounds like the black market is gonna get even more important for cosmetics, masterworks, etc. Not a huge fan of it. I'm the highest in my group at tier 120 with 2 days left, I might make it to tier 125-130 but thats about it and definitely not gonna buy any tiers, all the loot is hot garbage. The only people I know who got to 200 are streamers.

MP is great when things are balanced and fun but 80% of my games are with AFKers or horrifically unbalanced teams, and this is on PS4 I imagine its infinitely worse on PC.

Also interesting that the first CWL event "only" has ~60-65k viewers, league and just ninja by himself on fortnite is bigger atm.

How do you even compare a 3rd person BR experience like Fortnite to a first person shooter like Blackout? I'm just curious. I personally hated Fortnite in my time with it....I absolutely think Blackout is the best in this genre.

Update sounds great. I think with constant map changes we will see a steady amount of freshness. I really hope more of the customizations make it into blackout mode though. It will make the black market unlocks more worthwhile.

Not sure how to feel about the vehicle with turrets though. Definitely going to make mesh mines and rockets important for that crew wanting to roam around in it.

I have no audio issues on PS4. Can tell always where it's coming from.
