I get that, what I don´t understand is why you don´t think that the increased armor durability adds to the total effective health.
It does, I just don't think it particularly matters. Even before the patch you rarely killed people by completely draining their healing, because most of the time that meant shooting them 15+ times with an Outlaw.

Edit: Just to be clear, with total effective health I mean whatever you can currently take plus all your healing and armor plates. So, what matters in a poke fight.

Played for 3 hours last night in Duos. We didn't see nearly as many armor strips laying around as when the patch first dropped. I think Treyarch adjusted it.

That's still just for solo though and I think it's good for that. I'm talking about the endgame where sometimes you have to 1v2, 1v3, or 1v4. It's just way harder now because you relied on the ability to quickly burn someone and then turn on their dumb, oblivious friends. I'll just give them some time to work it out. Work on my axe throwing skills and stack concussion grenades. Luckily as much armor and health people get, they are still mostly awful at playing the game.

They should also really avoid the circle ending at any of the hotspots or near buildings. It just sucks to have the circle end in a way that encourages camping and a healing battle. I'd rather have it end on the open ocean. Everyone gets to know each other in the water.

Those suggestions sounds horrible. I like random endings including dense towns and buildings. Makes it like seige in a crazy way. Keep it random and don't take that element out of it cause you don't fight well in it. Hiding is a viable strategy at times and you have to prepare for it if you are on the move.

Also your complaints about being outnumbered doesn't hold up. Was in several matches last night where my party of 2 either killed another team of 3-4 or we did had an epic exchange at the end. Basically we had 3 on 2 and we still got second place. I still see being a little aggressive after engaging or flanking with your squad working. Cut out there cover. They need to make a decision to heal, repair or possibly revive that downed teammate. And we also destroyed a few people with level 3 armor so it's not the end all, you can't kill this guy if they have it. Just loot them after if the level 3 isn't destroyed and repair it up if possible.

Some matches felt people were clustered together more than before at the start. I also think some matches have more people going later into the game. Overall it doesn't change much but gives those parties that had a rough start a chance to get back into it more so than before. I've also seen more solo or duo parties making it later in quads.

I'd also agree the armor playing seems to be in less areas. But if you do find it usually there is usually several in that general spot.

Yep. I got roasted multiple times last night with Level 2 armor (and I had multiple armor packs on me) just by people getting the jump on me and finishing me off fast. Armor packs can't help you in CQC. As I've mentioned earlier - the main thing that's changed is that sniping isn't as viable at super long distances unless you can land the headshot. The patch essentially promotes pushing the enemy and finishing them quicker than before - especially in late game fights where most people are armored up. Is this necessarily a bad thing? Nah. Does the current armor system need some tweaks? Probably - and most likely to Level 3 only.

Man Zero is pretty fucking stupid. It is ridiculous that she can hack so much shit. As someone who has a 2.20kd it is extremely annoying to play well the whole game and earn streaks only to have them taken away by some map wide ult from someone who is awful. Also, the fact that she can control so many specialists items/ults...

I feel like she's gonna get nerfed hard. When there's two Zeroes on the other team its just awful. Just kinda ruins the flow of the game imo.

Last night I used Zero to take over a pair of mesh mines, a snipers nest and a mantis, as well as shut the enemies ability to use anything for the entire duration.

Not OP at all lol

Blackout audio is still complete utter trash. Time and time again I still have enemies run up to me without me able to hear them, and that new vehicle just doesn't make any sound at all until it's within 10 meters of you.

I hear people all the time and feel the new audio, especially the ambient sounds near rivers and such had been improved.

I think people with audio issues are either not using head phones or forget there is such a thing as a dead silence perks. Also some buildings and landscapes can block out sounds. Example the river was louder when I came up over the hill instead of inside the dip. Sound is being blocked as it should.

Yeah I'm listening to the game on very expensive studio monitors and the detail is there for sure. Whether people have headphones or a good system is going to make all the difference. And I agree too - Dead Silence is very much a thing and there's really no way to know if your enemy that killed you was running it.

Yup, here is a perfect example from one of DrDisrespect's recent streams:

https://youtu.be/NDPSpoqkySI?t=296

That new mounted gun vehicle makes no noise until its literally right on top of you sometimes. There was nothing obstructing the sound here.

Yeah I'm done with Blackout until they've fixed the sound on this thing. Played 3 matches today, got killed in 2 of them because some people just rolled up on my team with this thing without making any noise.

I fight well in every environment. I am a god at this game. I just wouldn't mind if the game encourage more active and dynamic playstyles. If it was like Siege they would add the EMP grenades to disable electronics, destructible environments, and not have barbed wire be so damn durable. I wouldn't mind if they added any of those things. Like Siege, they would also make heavy armor slow you down and make you louder. The collapse is also not random. It's clearly weighted to certain areas and not able to end in the middle of the ocean. I don't like how bullet spongey people are. It doesn't feel good to shoot them and I don't know why they even changed it so much. If anything, people wanted armor to be less of a factor and they went in the opposite direction. I don't think I ever saw a post asking for armor to absorb more damage.

The collapse is random in not knowing what side or areas may be less extreme. Sure it's not going to be in water but I've had a win on the cliffside at Nuketown facing the diner. At the start of the collapses there was no sign that is where the match was ending up. I'm sure there has been endings that included part of the ocean at the beaches.

Sometimes you stay on the edge the entire time with no movement. Other times every area is extreme and it needs movement from everyone unless you were directly in the center. It's not predictable and varies a lot match from match on the side and shape of collapses.

The circle was super predictable at launch. Once you saw the first circle you could predict where it's ending up within a couple hundred meters. Right now it feels almost completely random besides the water restrictions. I wish it ended up in hot spots a bit more.

Most extreme final circle I've had was at the southern bridge between Nuketown island and the main area. No one had taken the bridge so we all just shot at each other in the ocean. I didn't even know the circle logic counts bridges as land mass before that.

I don't think I have ever seen someone online in the Xbox Club. Such a bummer because I enjoy playing Duos or Quads.

I just wanna grind bruh.

Played a few matches just now and some thoughts on the new Level 3 armor after wearing it for 3 of those matches in a row.

1) In one instance, I acquired the Level 3 armor by completely shutting down an enemy in close range with a Spitfire. I had level 2 armor on. It took almost one full clip with the Spitfire but it literally melted him in a matter of seconds. I repaired it immediately and went top 3 shortly after.

2) Second instance, I jumped a guy in white barn who was camping on the second level. I shot him very close range with an ABR and melted the Level 3 armor again, killing him in seconds.

3) Third time I just randomly came across it at Turbine and went to top 5 where every single person had it on. I had an ABR and the other guys were sniping. It was out in the desert around Asylum area and we were all trying to kill each other and it took a very long time. I eventually died from getting hit by a sniper shot, he then followed up with a Vapr and something like 4 nades thrown randomly near my position to kill me.

Point is - You have to push people with Level 3 armor on. You have to get in close or medium range where an SMG or AR can melt it. In short range combat the Level 3 is not invincible and they simply don't have time to repair it once you're pegging them. In long range situations, it turns everyone into a tank and it's much harder to kill if you're just chipping away at it. Every instance where I died I was killed by an AR plus nades and never a sniper rifle.

Exactly. Long range combat is gone.

Alistair's Theme (Zombies lobby music) and Inferno (MP lobby music) are my favorites.

New mode for Blackout has started for the weekend: Fast collapse w/close quarter weapons. This is only for Quads, apparently.

And don't forget about Double XP for MP/Zombies and Double Merits for Blackout, which also started today.

This patch is a mess too, care packages bugging out with the nade you throw vanishing and nothing happening, specialist equipment going on CD when you use it and it does nothing.

Unless these are issues that have happened before, but they've happened to me a few times today and they never happened at all to me till now.

Also nice to know there's still issues with knifing and such also even though they keep supposedly patching them.

I melted in level 3 when a sniper hits it properly. Long range is still viable but you have to keep pressure up and finish them off.. There is no guarantee they have items to repair it so you need to make the choice are they just healing or repairing.

A shotgun (mog) will destroy that armor before they even turn on you. So glad I've always rolled with a shotgun as a secondary.

If anything needs nerfed it's the speed of these guys with the Bowie knife. I'm going to catch them with the shotgun soon even if concussed.

The new Close Quarters Frenzy is the most fun I've had in a videogame in recent memory. This isn't hyperbole. I won two matches in the short time I played with some randoms. It's an absolute shit show because the circle moves in so fast and matches only last about 10 minutes. So god damn crazy and so fun. Oh and bonus: You don't have to worry about anyone sniping you, obviously. No snipers. No AR's.

Blackout weapon camos and Blackout custom games are coming with the next patch. https://www.reddit.com/r/Blackops4/comments/a69r73/dec_14_update_2xp_in_mp_and_zombies_2x_merits_in/

Weapon Camo support is coming to Blackout across the entire mode, including in Custom Games. Here's how it works, with more details to come with our next update:
  • Camos earned in Multiplayer, Zombies, and the Black Market can be applied in Blackout.
  • Players set up their Weapon Camos in the new Armory menu prior to a match.
  • Player will see their selected camos applied when they pick up those weapons in-game.
  • Support will be included for Blackout Custom Games.
Blackout Custom Games will allow players to drop into their own private match to explore the map, visit destinations at their own pace, and practice Black Ops 4's battle royale experience with teams of friends. As a starting point, Custom Games in Blackout will be introduced with a maximum player count of 12. As with all features in Black Ops 4, this will evolve over time as we evaluate how players are engaging with the system, and that includes increasing player count and expanding feature support.

At launch next week, Blackout Custom Games will support:
  • Up to 12 players per match
  • Solos, Duos, or Quads
  • Weapon Camo support
  • Full character customization support
  • Online only to ensure each Custom Game is up-to-date
We're eager to see what you do when you've got the freedom to explore every nook and cranny of the Blackout world. Who knows how many secrets are still out there to discover?

Two additional items of note: in Blackout, we've increased the chances of finding Character Mission items in Zombies Stashes to help out our Blackout Character Mission hunters – and in Multiplayer, we've temporarily pulled Jungle from rotation to address a gameplay issue with ladders, and will return it to its rightful place in our next update.

Tried logging on after work to play a few games with Double XP but my ping was twice what it normally is. Not gonna bother if the connection is borked, especially with the new unlocks not available on PC yet.

Can someone just confirm to me: is the only way to get the new weapons to unlock through Contraband tiers? So the Swat RFT unlocks at level 100?

Man when you're close to unlocked 2 characters but then you fuck up in the last fight cause you got too aggressive and only unlock 1. :(

Interesting, does the blackout custom games mean I can setup a blackout match with just friends, like a private match? It would be nice to be able to practice on a private map.

What would really be cool is if they had a blackout bots mode, too.

Yup, if you do the daily tier skip for the next 65ish days or whatever this contraband goes on for, you should be able to get it provided you take advantage of double XP tier weekends and play regularly. It doesn't seem as ridiculous as the original 200 contraband line.

Totally, can't wait zu jump back in tonight.

Whats the best weapon for this mode where you can hit enemies from a decent range? I've been running with the Spitfire mostly but that definitely has range dropoff. I never use pistols in vanilla Blackout, so I'm wondering if something like the Strife would be good for this.

Great to recieve a COD survey from Activision where they twice threaten you with legal action if you talk about said survey.

Whoops guess I'd better lawyer up.
