The ABR is a god in blackout but I don't find it too good in MP. The Swordfish outdoes it in most instances. It is a headshot machine though, I got over 50 just playing after work. Should be able to clear it and maybe another gun this weekend. I kind of just aim for the upper chest and let the slight bounce take it to the head.

Fun mode for sure. Got a few wins in that one since it began so far. The bummer about it is that it doesn't count towards your stats. No quad wins from that mode.

That's kind of a bummer. Luckily I already have the challenges for Quad Wins. I just need less than five more duos wins and quite a few more solo wins. I also have to win as the only remaining person alive like 20 more times or something. Not too bad on duos but on quads it gets real fun. I love it when my team dies real early and I just make them sit there as I win a match by myself. I once wiped a whole squad just ducking and weaving, taking pot shots with the shotgun. I didn't play a thousand hours of Gears to lose a shotgun battle to some scrub CoD players.

My goal is to get the Killer Master Challenge, Max Prestige, Dark Matter, and the Blackout Professional Master Challenge before new releases start coming out.
9/10 quad feeds folks. We're almost there. Not even cheesin em in hard core. We're getting them by just mowin folks down in core.

Nuketown is always so iffy, especially with it being open to parties and me not going full tryhard. Going in for Cordite headshots when you're up against nothing but Spitfires, Saugs and Maddoxes is frustrating. Will try a few matches when I get home and see how it feels.

I didn't mind Nuketown in Black Ops because the pace was so much slower but 4 just plays too damned fast for it.

Gun stats are completely different between Blackout and regular MP. The difference with ABR and Swordfish is the most obviously noticeable one as it seems like these two have their stats entirely swapped. ABR is extremely accurate in Blackout while it's ass in regular multiplayer, and it's the other way around for the Swordfish.

Played for an hour or so and gathered some good loot:

blops4_lootqpjg5.jpg

Quite happy with the Seraph outfit. I have seen people wearing the red variant, but I did not know there was a blue one as well. Looks pretty nifty.

Finally completed the Hard Stop challenge. Now 'only' the hot swap and 5 headshots/game left. The former won't be a problem, but the latter on the other hand... I am struggling to land even three headshots in a match, let alone five. And I have to do it 18 times in total...

Leveling weapons goes disgustingly fast with 2x weapon XP. Got the Hades from 11 to 14 in five matches or so? Normally that only would have been enough to get it to 12.

I still don't know if I should Prestige 2 or not. It feels counter-intuitive not to, but I just don't see the point aside from unlocking an extra custom class and maybe a centimeter extra for my BO4 e-penis. But if I want to do it, I would have to do it now to take advantage of the 2XP.

Actually most of the gun stats are the exact same, (Aside from all the guns having slower bullet speed) however there are a couple that have Blackout-specific changes. The ABR in particular is one that was pretty substantially buffed about a month ago IIRC, the other ones that I can remember are the Rampart is better, the Mog is a bit worse, the Spitfire is a bit worse, the Auger and Titan are a lot worse, and the Snipers are a bit different. The SDM in particular is a lot worse then the MP version.

Wtf is this game doing? I feel like every update I'm doing worse than getting better. Of course I have some good matches here and there, but I struggle more and more even to get a 1.0 k/d... enemies escaping with 2 health out of gunfights, shots don't register, enemies coming from the weirdest angles...

My Dark Matter is done, after so long!

That match gave me 83k XP. Unlocking Dark Matter during Double XP is a big boost.
Gratz!

Is the Outlaw different in Blackout compared to MP? I feel it is a lot better in Blackout, but maybe that is simply because of the slower gameplay and longer distances you can kill people. What makes it bad in MP, after all, is its lack of a reliable one-hit kill shot (core) and slow handling (hardcore).

It's hard to really know 100%, it doesn't really help that snipers are the most changed weapon class from Console to PC, (Which is what I play on) so even if I did give you accurate info on what changes (if any) the Outlaw has in Blackout vs MP, it's going to be pointless if you play on console. In addition snipers operate differently in Blackout because Armor in the mode is way different from armor in MP. (Blackout Armor is % damage reduction while MP armor is sort of that but in practice is basically just +50 hp) And on top of that attachments work completely differently in Blackout which does affect all weapons but especially affects snipers because they don't get access to High Caliber. If I had to make a guess, I'd say that the Outlaw is more or less identical to how it works in Multiplayer in terms of base stats (meaning that on paper it's the same weapon but is still massively influenced by all the differences in mechanics that affect all guns indirectly when going from MP to Blackout) and I believe the Koshka does as well. The Paladin I do believe had a slight damage nerf going from MP to Blackout (so it couldn't 1 shot people with 200 armor in the head) but I remember that change being controversial so it might not have gone through. Other then that I think that the difference in balance with the snipers is as you said the big weaknesses that the Outlaw had in MP are less relevant in Blackout while its strengths (rate of fire, lower idle sway, and ease of lining up a 2nd shot) are much more important.

But just to reiterate, I'm talking about the weapon balance on PC, console snipers I believe have extended bonus damage hitboxes meaning that at least as far as MP is concerned it's much easier to score a 1-shot with all the snipers but I don't know if that applies to Blackout or how the varying levels of armor would even interact with that.

Details for next week's update. Not only will Armor 3 get a nerf like previously announced, all armor will get reduced damage protection so people are gonna die quicker across the board, unless they have no armor at all in which case ttk will stay the same.
We're also rolling out our 1.12 update throughout next week, with the first content drop starting on Tuesday. Here's a preview of just some of the updates to expect:

Tuning for Armor, Concussions, and Cluster Grenades in Blackout

We'll be implementing a new round of tuning changes to Blackout with this update, including:
  • Reduced damage protection for Armor across the board (Levels 1-3)
  • Level 3 Armor will no longer include additional damage protection against explosions and melee attacks
  • Increased Armor Plate requirements to repair Level 3 Armor
  • Reduced status effect duration, area of effect radius, and throw distance for Concussion grenades
  • More options to outplay attackers when hit by a Concussion grenade
  • Increased time to detonate for Cluster Grenades
  • Damage reduction for mini-Cluster Grenade explosions
Stay tuned for the full patch notes early next week to see all of the changes coming to Blackout.

Classic & Loot Weapons in Zombies

Five additional weapons are coming to Zombies next week! We're adding the MP 40, Grav, Daemon 3XB, SWAT RFT, and KAP 45 to the Mystery Box across every Black Ops 4 Zombies map for all players, as well as the Zombies Armory for full camo progression and customization. Classic weapons (MP 40 and Grav) will be unlocked by default in the Armory, and customization for loot weapons will become available in the Armory as they're unlocked in the Black Market.

Blackjack's Gun Game in Multiplayer

Blackjack is back with an updated selection for this special take on Gun Game, now featuring the KAP 45 full-auto pistol in the mix. You know the deal: survive an all-out free-for-all with a different weapon awarded for each kill, and a demotion for death by melee. Be the first to get through the full arsenal before everyone else to secure the win.

"Ambush" Limited-Time Mode in Blackout (PS4)

Our next limited-time mode arrives in Blackout next week on PS4 with Ambush! Get the drop on your enemies using only sniper rifles, melee attacks, and launchers while surviving a circle that never stops collapsing once it starts.

This hectic new mode will replace Down But Not Out in the Featured Playlist slot next week on PS4, while Down But Not Out runs on Xbox One and PC for the second week of its two-week run. Thanks again for your awesome feedback on our new limited-time modes, and let us know what you think about Ambush once you've had a chance to jump in.

IX Gauntlet in Zombies (PS4)

Our second Zombies Gauntlet arrives with "Vini, Vidi, Zombie!" in IX starting Jan. 29 on PS4. Battle the undead through 30 rounds of new challenges, and race against the clock to prove your gladiatorial skills to the rest of the world... or die trying.

Regional Blackout Playlists

For our Blackout players in lower-population server regions, including South America and South Africa: changes are coming! We've continued to examine the data and investigate options that will provide the best experience for all players in these regions, and while condensing the number of playlists still proves to be the best option to ensure fuller lobbies, we've heard your requests for a wider variety of gameplay options.

Starting today, we're testing out a region-based rotating Featured Playlist that will rotate multiple times per week. Today, you'll see the Blackout Featured Playlist shift from Down But Not Out to Duos, and this will change again on Tuesday. Thanks for bearing with us while we test further options to make Blackout the best experience it can be for everyone around the world.

Incoming: Camo Progression in Blackout, Mastercraft/Reactive Camo/Black Market Camo Support in Zombies, and Mastery Camos in Blackout and Zombies

We're also planning on launching Blackout's full camo progression system following the initial rollout of the 1.12 update, as well as support for Mastery Camos in Blackout and Zombies. These features work a bit differently compared to the current camo systems in Multiplayer, and we'll be putting the finishing touches on them shortly after releasing the updates listed above. Support for Mastercrafts, Reactive Camos, and Black Market Camos in Zombies is also planned to go live in this timeframe.

League Play Update

We'll have more news to share next week about the upcoming rollout of League Play and the World League Hub. We've made some fundamental changes to Black Ops 4's Ranked system since we first announced our plans, as well as numerous important updates to the CWL ruleset that will change how the game is played competitively for the better. Stay tuned for more intel soon.

We'll see you next week with full details on the 1.12 update and more! Time to get out there and grind.

Super excited for all the new Blackout and Zombies stuff. Hopefully them adding in the Kap 45 for Zombies during its launch for non-PS4 platforms means that in the future the guns will be added in as they become available and not at a later date. Been waiting for the mastery camos for Zombies to start the grind back again.

Activision is apparently sending free copies of BO4 to series vets who don't have the game yet.

I just got a code for PS4.

I feel like nerfing level 1 and 2 armor too kind of defeats the purpose of nerfing level 3 armor. I don't want Blackout turning into MP with its ridiculously fast TTK.

I had a few server disconnects and one game freeze on my X today. I noticed that if i leave the game running when I turn my console off, I end up not having a working microphone upon startup. I always have to quit back to the dashboard, and reboot the game. Nothing major, but annoying for sure.

I might be a bit late with this but is there a known HDR problem with this game on PS4? With HDR on everything looks very washed out. Looks a lot nicer with it switched off.

I swear I'm on some kind of blacklist. If there are low level players in the lobby the chances are 90% that they are on my team. I just was in a lobby with a level 13 and level 19... of course both ended up in my team.

Prestige 10! Now I can dress up my specialists without having to reset them again!

It's a bit silly that this happens, I would imagine Activision wants microtransactions to work as well as possible.

I went from level 9.75 (give or take) to level 13 in one match. I didn't even play that well.

Next match I got the top score on my team, 20 kills, 11 deaths, a merciless and... I barely make it to level 14.

I like the idea of nerfing armor protection across the board. I've always felt that the sweet spot for TTK is somewhere around current lvl 1. This should not only get us closer to that on average but also reduce the advantage of just having better armor in all situations.

I feel like nerfing level 1 and 2 armor too kind of defeats the purpose of nerfing level 3 armor. I don't want Blackout turning into MP with its ridiculously fast TTK.
Kind of, but not really. If they're nerfed evenly (and not something like lvl 3 getting nerfed less for no reason), all players regardless of armor are going to be on a much more even playing field. So the jump from lvl 2 to 3 should become smaller even if 2 is also nerfed.

Usually if you stay it balances out.. teams are mixed up and new players join in. Matches then proceed to go back and forth or be really close from my experience.

Damn, playing slow really pays off. Today I pushed my k/d for my last 30 matches from 1.31 to 1.75 and my overall k/d from 1.33 to 1.35.

I always thought I'm taking it slowly, but it seems I always was a bit to fast.

Lag or whatever it is, is completely destroying my fun with this game. One moment in a match just now: Firing Range, I saw a dude hiding behind a corner. I don't just pre-aim it, I pre-fire it. The moment he steps into view, even a tiny bit of him, I hit and kill him. One second later I am dead on the ground because apparently he had a rocket launcher hidden in his leg, the only part of him that was exposed, and he even had enough time to fire it despite my continuous fire. I completed the game, but I turned the game off afterwards. I am just so done with that kind of bullshit.

And this is not the only example. Plenty of other scenarios when one guy constantly gets the drop on me, not because he is faster or smarter or whatever, but because he has a 1-second advantage over me. Or when I am chasing a guy (dead silence on) and he is seemingly looking the other direction. I ADS but nope, in the meantime he shoots me without the game showing his body turning into my direction. Why, thank you game, for providing me with accurate information!

I'm having similar problems. I have my VAPR aimed down sights, enemy is right on the crosshair and then I fire. Then the game either doesn't register a hit or gives me a hit marker about 200 milliseconds late. Meanwhile the enemy does not appear to be suffering from these issues and will kill me instantly.

It keeps happening.

Yeah I am also getting a lot of missed hits or hit markers where it should have been straight kills. Like, how can you can two hit markers with a Hades in close range on hardcore? I can chalk the first one up to armor, but the second should have been the kill. Instead I am the one who dies.

This situation happened in Firing Range tonight:

blops4_bshejl2.jpg

Red is the opponent, blue is me. Arrows denote movement and general aim direction. I walked up to the doorway inside the building and see the guy running out of the building and past the car. His aim was fixed squarely at the lane up ahead. I aim down sights and... he shoots me through the goddamn car. He was wielding a SMG, but even then there is no way he could see me, turn in my direction, aim down sights himself and fatally shoot me, all in the time it takes me to aim down sights. Which is 275 milliseconds for the Auger, and I wasn't sprinting or anything. I cannot explain these situation unless the opponent is somehow one second ahead of me.

Damn, I only managed to get from Prestige 4 level 37 to Prestige 5 level 5 at the weekend. Those late levels take such a big amount of time even with 2XP. But the first levels are nice... level 1 - 5 took me exactly 1 match TDM. I hope I get a bit of time to play before the 2XP ends today.

I've been playing the Nuketown only playlist and objective modes make getting killstreaks and ridiculous total kills really easy. Like I was getting 50-90 kills all weekend even while using lame guns and bad killstreaks (for some challenges). You can just rack up so many points doing objectives that you're swimming in killstreaks. Hardpoint + firebreak is so much fun. Just get onto the second floor of the house, pop that reactor core and it's an easy 4+ kills if the zone is there.

Only diamond LMGs and secondaries left! And made it to 9th prestige! For tac rifles, the swordfish and augur were fun but the ABR is not great. The double tap operator mod with high caliber 1 + 2 just decimates. The enemy was trying to snipe and I just demolished them with it. Same with LMGs tbh. Headshot machines.

On the Blackout camos: Is it a day-forward thing or are they going to give us our progress so far? I guess it depends on the criteria.

I don't even care about leveling through prestige. Pretty much just hop on play for an hour or two and then stop. I think I've missed two or three days where I didn't get my contraband skip? And I'm level 97. Probably gonna play even less once I get the Swat.

A shame the Hades's Operator Mod doesn't have a crosshair in HC, even when ADS. I get it could be kind of overpowered if it did, though.

"Only" got to level 21 of prestige 2 during the 2XP weekend, but I still have the unlock token and I have no idea what to use it on. So far I am not really missing anything in particular in my loadout. But I am hesitant to just use it on the knife, for example, since it would mostly be a novelty weapon for me. Same goes for most high-level weapons, actually. Nice to have, but I barely use them.

When suddenly you get a cluster grenade thrown at you in Blackout, you turn around and see a guy in level 3 armor coming at you, stun grenade ready.

They are going to nerf it, but I wouldn't mind seeing it completely gone in solos.

I don't know if I should be excited for the 1.12 patch today or not... they really need to nerf some specialists, especially Prophet. Also they have to do something with the season pass. I mean we a 4 months in and all we got for the regular multiplayer are 2 maps? But I'm afraid we'll have to wait until the next operation goes live... the season pass is the biggest pile of garbage I've ever bought as an add-on for a video game. As of right now I would be more pleased if they go like "fuck it, we are giving away the maps for free to everyone and season pass owners get their money back as CoD Points" or something like that.

Had some of my finest matches in TDM these past few days, not sure what gives, guess the double XP brought some noobs to the table. Previously my record in TDM was 39 kills, which is still over 50% of my team's work. But this one I'm particularly proud of, 42 kills, 6 deaths:

Totally swerved the double XP weekend due to Resident Evil 2, I see the same old complaints about connections going round and it just makes me not want to play the game due to those frustrations.

They should reverse the equipment slot's behavior in Create-a-Class. Let players pick grenade, trophy system, combat axe etc. for free and make it cost a point to pick the specialist equipment. The equipment is currently totally pointless because every choice is weaker than the specialist equipment and even costs a point.
