The RK7 nearly killed me...some rounds would be nice and then others would just be god awful. It takes two bursts for a headshot in core.
The RK7 really is bottom of the barrel for me. Even in Blackout, just after landing, I instinctually feel it would be better to remain unarmed then to pick up the RK7. Which is bs, I know, but just to show how much I hate that thing.

You know a match is going to suck when you run into three RK7s after dropping... and nothing else.

I haven't played in a few days, but maybe I will pick it up again this weekend. Last time I had some small successes with the Mozu + headsplitter in core when it comes to getting those 5+ headshots per match, so maybe I can finally finish the Precision challenges.

Speaking of which: I have been wondering about headshot kills in core. Specifically: how does the game count them? Does the last bullet, the "killing bullet" so to speak, need to be a headshot? Or do you only have to mix in one headshot somewhere in the firefight?

I was afraid that would be the answer. Makes sense, though.

So it will be either Mozu+headsplitter in core, or any other gun in hardcore this weekend.

Weird how I struggle so much with 5 headshot in one match. Maybe I should work on my aim. I tend to aim low in general, so I am inclined to hit someone's legs rather than their head. That is why I prefer pistols when going for headshots, because you automatically hold them higher (head/torso level) than other guns (waist).

I can test it out but I think it's the killing bullet. Mozu with headsplitter is a blast by the way. I did a majority of my work in Core except for some longshots and some of the pistol stuff. I even did most of the RK headhshots in Core but I did the technical camos in hardcore. The SG12 is easy to use in either but I think it's super hard to get a headshot credit in Core with it. Also you can camp the hell out of the 5 killstreaks camo in hardcore though for most guns that wasn't an issue, I think only the snipers took a while to get those five streaks. Everything else I was done by the time I got the 50 kills with or without attachments.

I'm a very aggressive player so HC does not fit my usual playstyle. I just found it more fun to do it all in Core.

What mode are you playing? Maybe try DOM or hardpoint. Something that usually last longer than a TDM. Also try anything with high caliber. The Augur with Double tap, Rampart, any LMG (Titan and VKM especially). Equip the titan (even just the default class) go up to the second floor of a house on nuketown and just camp it out. Hardpoint is the best because you got a good view of them. Use those NVIR scopes too.

Use prophet + equipment recharge. Kill em with your shock drone with headshots. Should give you and easy 3-4.

Damn, most of it in core? I am genuinely impressed. I started out in core, but it is such a specialist equipment fest it's not even funny. I only go there now to get those headsplitter kills or to go ham with the Hades + operator mod, haha.

I usually stick to (hc) TDM, but maybe other modes can be more beneficial. I do feel TDM can be too... all over the place, so to speak. You can't stay somewhere for 10 seconds without someone shooting you in the back.

I am close to unlocking double tap for the Auger and already have a maxed out Titan, so those might be good options. I am personally a fan of the Swordfish in MP, especially hardcore. Its two quickdraw mods are usually all I need there, but it can hold a NVIR scope as well.

Use prophet + equipment recharge. Kill em with your shock drone with headshots. Should give you and easy 3-4.
Could be worth a try. I do personally hate characters like Prophet and Battery (or rather, their specialist equipment), so I am kind of loath to use them myself. But maybe I just need to get over myself there and play it smart.

Treyarch really needs to get better on communication with the community, 11 days until the new season launches on PS4 and besides the fact that we're getting new stuff we know nothing.

Pretty turned of by Vonderhaar's comment last night stating:

"We aren't just one mode with one map, and that complicates things. We will figure it out"

BO4 was one of the highest grossing games in 2018, COD has been the most dominate income earner in ALL OF ENTERTAINMENT as they love to brag about over the past 11 years. Yet you don't have the resources to manage 3 game modes?!??!?? I like many gave $100.00 for BO4 and have gotten less content than games that cost $0.00 in the genre over the past 5 months.

Add in the bonus money they get from Sony to make a good chunk of us on the Xbox/PC community wait for "game modes, skins, camos" as well and I have ZERO sympathy about your resources to manage 3 game modes.

We in the community would be a lot more forgiving if Blackout was free to play, but it isn't and with that co$t of entry comes higher expectations.

Amen to that. The move to battle.net has done jack shit for the PC version of the game as I expected. It's only been 4 months and the decay of players in Multiplayer has been stark and noticeable. It usually takes 8-12 months for previous black ops games to reach this point. On the east coast and getting more matches in the midwest and west coast as time goes on. We haven't had a big weapon balance patch in at least a month. At this point, I just get my daily tier skip and go play something else.

Blackout, MP, and Zombies are 3 separate games on their own, and it's clear that Blackout took up resources from MP and Zombies (minimal MP changes for 3 months now, Zombies being extremely buggy at launch.) I'm still disappointed in the lack of love for MP, but it's hard to manage 3 games at the same time.

They really should have made Blackout a standalone game whether free to play or not. It would be weird from Activision's perspective to give major support to a mode attached to an older title when they release a new one every year.

I don't really know what they're thinking.

A Treyarch employee dropped a simple tease on one of the Reddit posts talking about those surveying stakes https://www.reddit.com/r/Blackops4/...stakes_found_in_various/efzdlcv/?context=1000
People have also found some more possible teasers for the upcoming map changes, including what looks like a door to a bunker https://charlieintel.com/treyarch-a...blackout-mode-for-games-next-operation/51585/
Looks like the desert areas will be getting some much needed attention in a week and a half

They're probably thinking that they can charge the BR fans $60 every year by releasing a new game.

Damn, that is a shame actually. I loved dropping at that desert building. You can get fucked easily with a bad circle and sometimes there is nothing there. But most of the time you can leave the place decked out nicely and within decent range of the circle (if not inside it).

I bought this game the day it came out, but still haven't even booted it up yet. I'd like to check it out tonight - what do you recommend is the best way to jump in? I haven't played COD in a few years and haven't played battle royale yet. Should I play some death match or team death match to gain some levels and experience before trying out Blackout? Thanks in advance.

Hard to say. No matter which mode you pick, you will likely run around with a negative k/d ratio because everyone else has more experience with the game than you do.

Note that there is a single-player of sorts, which is basically a series of tutorials on each specialist and their equipment. At the end of each tutorial you will get to play one of the dozen game modes against bots. If you don't want to play tutorials, you can also hop into local multiplayer, where you pick a mode and a map, add bots and play. The AI really is nothing special, but it might be a good way to get your bearings.

Local multiplayer also has all guns, attachments and equipment unlocked from the start. In real, online multiplayer you will have to earn all these things by killing people and leveling up.

Blackout (BR) and multiplayer are completely separate modes, by the way, and both require their own mindset to play well. Blackout = relatively slow-paced, huge map, few kills each game. Multiplayer = frantic, small maps, relatively many kills per match. Both modes have their own progress meters, although the one in Blackout has no meaningful influence on gameplay whatsoever (unlike your level in multiplayer).

Working on the Headhunter challenge. It is definitely bugged, though. I check my medals after every game now and last game I got six headshot medals. Headhunter still sits at 11/25, same as before the match.

Whereas it happily increased from 8/25 to 10/25 after a single game with 12 headshots a few matches prior.

Headhunter progress: 22/25. Almost there!

Went from 16/25 to 18/25 with 9 headshots in one match. So at least it is bugged in both directions.

I might as well take the Mozu to gold while I am at it. I already have the 10 longshots and 5 double kills. The other three will have to wait until I am done with Headhunter, though.

Looks like Buried (the Black Ops 2 Zombies map) is being added to the Blackout map. In that Zombies map there was wooden, pick lollypop sign, and someone has found it half buried in the Blackout map south-east of Factory

Yaaay. I can finally leave the barren wasteland that is core and return to the green pastures of hardcore.

Only 6 hot swap/double kill combinations left and I am done with Precision. Luckily that challenge is a piece of cake in comparison to Headhunter.

But headshot medals are way easier in hardcore than core? I mean everything is a one shot in hardcore but I find it way easier to get 1 head shot rather than 4 head shots. Most guns don't have an effective headshot multiplier without high caliber anyway.

Trust me, I tried getting those headshots in hardcore. I played hardcore for weeks and I could still only get 4 headshots per game, tops. Good enough for the one shot one kill + headshot challenge (which was the reason I started playing hc in the first place) but not for Headhunter. My aim is just that bad I guess.

So I decided to brute force it by using the Mozu + headsplitter in core. In practice it meant I had to aim for the head because it was the only way I could get kills. Everything else would be a hitmarker and a death, since the Mozu can't really compete with most ARs and SMGs in core.

But now I have completed the challenge and I can go back aiming at torsos and legs in hardcore.

I know it doesn't compare to something like Dark Matter. But it feels good to have finally completed this challenge. It had been sitting on 83% for so long now...

New goal: unlock gold for the Mozu.

Got Dark Matter over the weekend! The knife was great to do lats. After suffering through the RK7, it was nice to use the knife and just taste the rage after getting like several fury kills and a mega kill with it. The last guy didn't even know he was my dark matter kill. He'll never know lol.

Nice! Grats, man.

It is such a shame they put the knife behind level 55... If I am going to prestige again, I might spend my token on it. For some reason the ice axe doesn't feel the same, like it misses the forward lunge the knife has.

After completing all Precision challenges I also unlocked gold for the Mozu yesterday. That final bloodthirsty felt good after ending 2 games in a row with a 4 kill streak and my cross hairs literally on the 5th and final kill, only for the match to end before I could pull the trigger.

Went back to the Swordfish afterwards, but aiming feels painfully slow in comparison. Pistols have spoiled me.

The only thing it really misses is a reflex sight, which it does have in Blackout. But I understand why it doesn't in mp, since it would probably make it too strong.

The 50 kills without attachments camo made me reappreciate the speed loader. What a difference that one makes.

First game of Nuketown in months and I'm down another controller. How people can possibly enjoy shitstain maps like this is beyond me, and Specialists only make it even worse.

A specialist free mode would be a godsend. Until then I make do with hc. It isn't perfect, but just the complete lack of Battery and her War Machine/Cluster Grenades, plus the redundancy of Prophet's Tempest, make it a lot more bearable than core.

2XP, always appreciated. I was already going to put in some extra hours into the game to hopefully unlock some more outfits from the reserves, before the new contraband stream starts next week. Going to take this opportunity to level some of my neglected guns to a decent level.

Multiplayer to me is just a treadmill of death, camping, frustration and SMG's. I'd much rather play a game with momentum swings like Team Slayer. The non respawn modes are the only ones I like.

Im excited for this, but this news is completely buried thanks to Apex Legends. They really need to make this mode free to play or standalone purchase, and it would be so nice to see them just spin BR off and tease a new map.

Updates for this have been so slow, but BR is fun and I want to enjoy Blackout. The slow updates and lack of road plan really sucks, and the $60 price for 1 map a year just hinders the potential so much

Yeah, Apex Legends already has more polish and variety despite the lack of vehicles, which is crazy because Blackout was my favourite BR for months now. Now that there's a triple-A Battle Royale with actual great shooting, polish, similarly good graphics and so on, a lot of thunder is stolen by Blackout. They need to boost the speed of their updates and possibly go the F2P route because at this rate, come the next COD BR, Apex Legends will have like 3 times its content.

We played quite a few games of Blackout last night. I think Apex's QoL features are what makes it a great experience right now. If Blackout had pings, the easy inventory management (switching attachments and dropping things), and maybe the jumpmaster feature it would be a tossup for which is better. They could also fix things like item spawns right after the jump and areas that have framerate issues. I think Blackout was competing against PUBG in terms of comparisons so it held up really well but now there's a new kid on the block.

I think Call of Duty will eventually be a victim of its own success. They don't want to risk those yearly release numbers by adapting to newer release/update models. Instead of adding more content, they are going to reset everything next year if things don't change.

Teaser for a new map

According to the leak there'll be 2 new maps, 1 set around a LAPD Police Station, another set around a Casino.
Also, note Treyarch's new avatar which seems to hint the return of One in the Chamber.

Looks like they stealth changed score limits for some modes. TDM now goes to 100 and Kill Confirmed went from 60 to 80.

You would think they would announce such a big change, but I haven't seen anything.
