I just hit level 55 and unlocked a unique weapon from a Dropbox at the same time. What will happen to that weapon if I prestige?
Hardcore BR sounds like a horrible idea. Even more teamkilling, item stealing from your buddies, random "just sprayed onto a hill" kills... yeah, no thanks I'm good.
If you get killed by a teammate the whole team can't loot your bag.
I doubt that'll stop idiots. In Siege there is no upside to teamkilling either, and yet some people just do it anyway.
Is there any worse strat than going to the barns near Firing Range after your drop? It's just multiple teams of campers waiting for someone to try to cross.

It would have been cool if Treyarch released Shamrock and Awe a week earlier so that ALL PLAYERS could have enjoyed this themed/timed event during the actual holiday of St. Patricks Day! Instead us schlebs on XBOX/PC get to enjoy it 3 days after the Holiday is over WTF?!?!??
I like how most GaaS games are out there at least entertaining the idea of cross-progression and cross-play, along with no difference in content between versions to avoid fucking over anyone. In the meantime, Activision still happy with accepting peanut payments (compared to the overall income of a game like Call Of Duty or Destiny) to fuck over like half of the userbase. To each their own, shit like this makes it less and less likely I'm buying their future games though. Already gave up on Destiny, and I'm mainly into COD because it was Treyarch's turn again, but at this rate they are slowly losing me.

TLDR: Shamrock & Awe isn't a separate contraband stream, it is a $20 bundle.
Just to rub it in, another 10GB patch and my PS4 won't download it before I delete 47GB from my hard disk.

Some people theorize the actual contraband stream might go live on St. Patrick's Day. It is possible, I guess. Even so, Treyarch had to know everyone expected it today. So to just dump a premium bundle and nothing else... not the best look.What a shitty game this turned out to be.

Fucking yikes. The current pass is worthless, now their biggest event is a paid content? I already bought the most expensive edition at launch and it's not even included unless I saved enough credits for it? Wow. Just, wow. I still gladly hop on multiplayer from time to time as I enjoy it, but the post-launch support for this game has been a shitshow. How they manage to make it worse year after year boggles my mind.

The plane from Mob of the Dead can now be founded in the water in the very north-west part of the map. Probably gonna get Alcatraz with the next big map update if I had to guess.
yeah this has turned from a shit fest into a complete diarrhea dumpster fire, i've been playing 1-2 games a day to get the tier skip so I'm level 31 on PS4 but seriously thinking of just quitting, all the "tier loot" is garbage and its infuriating how they keep dumping complete garbage for high $ values into the cosmetics shop. $20 for 10 reserve boxes and some blackout garbage? Last year WW2 had a huge event around St. Patricks with tons of things you could earn in game spending absolutely nothing. Here everything is paywall'd and it is enraging.
Meanwhile apex, a f2p game, releases a $10 10 week season pass. If APEX released a solo queue BR I would uninstall bo4 in a heartbeat.

Here's an opinion, and I wonder how other people look at this:
No matter how awesome, I don't care about loot from a Battle Pass-system (no matter the game) for 1 simple reason: a shit ton of people have it anyway (especially in BO4 where the standard Battle Pass is free). For me 99% of the fun from character customization is being able to have an unique character, a Battle Pass where everyone "earns" the same character skins which makes everyone run around with the same skins just defeats the purpose of character customization to me. I just don't see any fun in earning a cool character skin or gun skin if everyone who just gets their Daily Tier Skip is also gonna get it.
If MW4 or whatever Activision is releasing this year does away with the Contraband Stream and just goes back to a Supply Drop system while also letting you earn an in-game currency which you can then use to buy specific items you want (MWR and WWII have this) I'd be more than fine with it.

Yeah I totally agree with this. By the time people are running around with more varied skins the next call of duty will be out and most people will have moved on.
Yeah, I'm mainly logging in for those daily skips, but honestly this season's cosmetics are not even worth it. I'm still going on because I enjoy the core of the multiplayer, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be going at this rate. I bought the most expensive edition of the game at launch, and Activision is still trying to get more money out of me, because apparently owning the game, the season pass and tons of COD points is still nowhere near enough to have most of the content, I still gotta grind my ass off or pay a lot to have a bit more variety. In the meantime, Apex has a pretty bad implementation of lootboxes, but at the same time it's cosmetics only (unlike here), there's no pass to be bought for extra non-cosmetic content (unlike here), it's a free game (unlike BOIIII), etc.. I know where my money's going, surely.
yeah all BO4 has managed to do is convince me not to buy COD 2019 at launch, Activision clearly views COD as just a platform to sell microtransactions so they can count me out of that ecosystem from now on. When its 75% off i'll check out the SP campaign but other companies have taken the multiplayer mantle away from Call of Duty and I don't really see any indication that they have the competency to reclaim it.
Yeah I only care about skins and items you have to put some time and effort into earning. Like when I used to play Gears, I got to max level in Gears 2 (which took a lot of time) and got a gold gnasher in Gears 3. That thing was like my pride and joy. Now you get everything through random loot or the battle pass. Where's the cool factor? It's one of the things that always bugs me about microtransactions, we lost those prestige unlockables from weird, grindy challenges. At least the MP side still has Dark Matter and they got the calling card challenges. They should give out themed character/weapon skins for those Master challenges.
Forget the cosmetics for a second here...Black Ops 4 is an incredible entertainment value proposition at $60. I played Blackout pretty much non-stop for 6 months straight up until Apex dropped. Name another form of ANYTHING entertainment related where $60 could go that far. If I go to a movie it damn near costs me $40 for two people and some drinks.
If you don't want to spend money on cosmetics or battle passes you can still play the game. No one is forcing you to do anything.
And for the record - Apex is charging $18 for ONE skin. I love Apex but that is some straight trash pricing too.
I'm probably dropping this game soon. Apex killed Blackout for me. Still enjoy multiplayer to an extent but it's annoying that Treyarch and Activision are more worried about the MTXs than doing something against exploits and such. There are lobbies that are downright unplayable with people constantly shooting later but somehow getting the kill, or already shooting at a corner before they even see you. The current pass is horrible, and their current pricing model is hilariously bad, so the daily logins mean less and less as time goes on.
They had a really good 1.0 to move on from, but they are failing to evolve the way in any exciting way. Blackout got stale, multiplayer gets new maps at snails' pace, the monetization model is horrible and the game's issues (laggy menus, exploits, no campaign, etc.) are probably never getting fixed. What a waste.

The MOP is horrible, 150 health was a huge mistake, it takes an age to drop people yet snipers are still OHK's.
As you guys say, the treadmill of supply streams is bollocks, there's nothing good there it's all shit, nothing worth grinding for.
I'm not even by going for max prestige anymore, it just means someone has spent months of their life doing nothing but play the game, year ago it was something to behold.
Maybe I'm just outgrowing CoD (37) and been playing since CoD MW, but their blatant focus on just extracting as much cash from a player is sickening, and funnily enough I am more flush with cash now than I ever have been but I don't want to give them a dime.
It's also hilarious to me that WW2 is the better game now. The franchise is in a precarious state now and IW need to come big with CoD 2019, but I tel you one thing, I will not be there day one, I'll be there when they implement the micro transaction system for the game. We all know launch version will change drastically.

Was there a recent buff to shotguns? Multiple games today I ran into teams where almost everyone is using them.
The MOG has been buffed so that its Operator Mod does almost all its extra burn damage on hit, as opposed to over time like before. Combined with Long Barrel + Barrel Choke makes it a one-shot kill in most situations, even in core.
Unsure what to think really. I wanted strong shotties but Dragon's Breath already made the MOG pretty good, but now it seems beastly.
MP DLC maps will be playable for free this weekend with Double XP, Double Merits and Double Tier Progression enabled. I have a super hard time with the pacing in Blackout now that I've been playing Apex for 5 weeks straight. Everything just feels so much slower in Blackout. By the time the first circle closes in Apex half the map is already killed off. It's more action packed. I love so many things about Blackout (namely the map and the gun play) but I guess I've had my fill with it for the time being.
Looking back now, there's nothing more annoying then dropping with your squad in Blackout and the team gets wiped immediately except one person. Now you have 3 people spectating him for 20 minutes until he dies an inevitable death. In Apex your squad either gets wiped or one person manages to live and then he can revive the whole team. It's just a much more rewarding mechanic to me.
I love blackout and have been playing various versions of quads since launch almost exclusively when I game. Best experience I've had in multiplayer since the original MW.
That being said, I care nothing for regular multi or any sort of cosmetics at this point in my gaming journey. They really need to split battle royale from traditional I think.
