The elevation of politics would be amazing if Greens were Opposition to the Liberals. Not just in Commons but in common.
Just gotta be careful they don't win a majority this time.
The Cons are dumb. All they had to do to win this election was from day one say they would have only one promise to make sure they would carry it out: abolish the GST and a freeze on income tax rate for ten years. Any time any question is asked you pivot back to this. Done, victory, with a majority.

That seems borderline ridiculous. For 2016-2017 GST was valued at 11,7% of the government revenue for that year out of 293.5 billions. So you will need to find 30 billions to balance the budget in the same conditions. Even if you Doug Ford it won't work.
That's naive, it's not about being willing, it's that we can't take that kind of financial settlement which will award them all present and future losses. Plus the arbitrator will just make us build the pipeline anyway.

Harper sold us out in 2014, Trudeau has been navigating a minefield holding onto our sovereignty.
If Smeer wins, him and Kenney will make sure China can stripmine the country for resources, as little environmental regulation in the way as possible, boot the natives off and they're not obliged to hire Canadians either.

It's just to make sure people won't say you'll make up for the loss of revenue through an income tax increase.
Plus dropping or reducing the GST is something people of all classes would end up being attracted to.
And it doesn't matter if it creates a deficit, the answer to that is always that the government is too big and wasting too much money and they'll cut in the waste.
Cons are dumb, outplayed, taking the very long way around. Only hope they have is a Green Wave to squeeze their way in.

The SNC just doesn't hold a lot of traction (especially Quebec). I'm wondering how much of those numbers are contributed along party lines, but may help form the narrative of the election.
I still expect these questions to be brought up during the debates, so it's a wait and see if this still resonates with people.
Further, the "jobs" question is interesting as if this were to go the other way the critique would ben that the government did not use all the tools necessary to save those jobs. Something along the lines of the Saudi Arms deal. A political football as so many jobs are banking on selling weapons to a brutal regime.
On another note. Andray keeping tabs on anti-immigrant sentiment from conservative leaning publications. That Vancouver Sun article was not by accident or an anomaly.

Fastest G7 economy is US and Canada and over 2% since 2016. Canada was #1 in 2017 but US was #1 in 2018

The risk of early conservative vote splitting between Scheer and Bernier was probably one of the factors the Liberals considered when they decided to have a very short election campaign.
Now Scheer just has to decide if it's worth it to shift even further right to regain those votes.

Schools are a successful and popular core part of our public services. Conservatives are ideologically opposed to public services and schools are a successful example of social democracy that doesn't fit with their ideology. Removing the word 'public' from schools obfuscates and hides this example of successful public works and places private schools on the same level as public schools. This is probably a first step toward treating private and public schools more evenly, either defunding public schools or directing public money toward private schools.

Not sure if there is any green candidate that would care to open up the abortion debate to help fight climate change in 2019

I hope so too, but I doubt it. I know plenty of people – mostly young persons – that don't follow politics at all, and when they go vote (if they do at all) will vote Green based on the name alone...
I don't think they smelled the NDP orange blood in the water like they do now and they're trying to pick up any seats they can.
That's my position too. They never really, in an outward fashion, strayed from their environmental message. But now their unmasking is a revelation.
