Its ridiculous.

Honestly I wouldnt care as much if they just put out a quality service. But crave is crackle level of not giving a fuck.

Even with cable the Crave on demand is still STEREO 720P, so it's the laziest thing they can get away with.

IF the service was quality, I'd be okish. The BEST you can get out of Crave is if you have some generation of Apple TV or a Samsung TV you can get the coveted 1080p, but still STEREO sound.

So I've tried to use that Walmart $25 gift card for MUA3 preorder being cancelled twice now and both times the order cancelled. I've been trying to buy digital codes for Switch eshop and Dark Souls digital for Switch. Anyone else successfully use theirs?

I used my $25 gift card in store off my phone and it worked without a problem.

Fellow Canadians, what sort of Switch downloads do you get? I seem to max out at 30 download wired, a little less wireless.

Just did a test with no games running. I seem to get faster speeds via wifi.

Wired
Down: 24.0 Mbps
Up: 6.2 Mbps

Wifi 5G
Down: 50.1 Mbps
Up: 7.1 Mbps

Wifi 2.4G
Down: 35.2 Mbps
Up: 8.9 Mbps

Mind you I did another test and the numbers changed slightly more on Wifi than on Wired. Could also be because I have multiple devices connected to the internet

Thanks! Even the new Switch seems to max out at the 30ish cap.

Canada Post experts, how likely am I to get this package?

Tracking said it was delivered to community box. I open mine and there is a key for the lower parcel locker. I open it and there is no package.

I call CP and they say they'll investigate and to return the key. I was thinking I got the wrong key and my package is in a different slot. Today I did not get another key, just coupons.

Will this package find its way to me? It was fairly expensive and rare.

Not a deal, but The Yakuza Remastered Collection: Day One Edition is up for pre-order on amazon.ca. Right now it has a placeholder price of $87.74(It's a $60 US game collection). Anyone that pre-orders will get the lowest price between now and release, and you can cancel anytime before they ship.

I know it's not gaming related but I bought a sleeveless hoodie from Roots of fight.ca on sale. THey shipped it on saturday and I just got a call from FEDEX.
I have to pay 44$ worth of customs and taxes on the damn shirt. This feels Excessive, so I called Fedex. They say that it's due to a 20% tarif basically because it's made in china. The damn thing was shipped out of california. This makes no sense to me. They waved their customs fee of 11$ but then again, the tarif charge still makes no sense, since i'm not the one who imported it from China into the US.

Anybody else had to deal with such bullshit?

I once bought a 12 pack of Miller High Life in Bellingham and when I went to take them across the border, they made me pay more than I'd paid for the beers in duties. I was like wtffff

Should have left them behind

I told this story before but that happened to my uncle with a bottle of Brandy at the border once. He picked up the bottle and it "slipped" out of his hands as he was putting it back on the counter after he said he'd leave it at the border and he didn't pay anything. lol

Can someone convince me to keep the pre-order?

I have a feeling that eBay deal is going to be garbage. I received an email saying "You've already given us a go, is it time you checked us again?" stating i've shopped there within the last 12 months, when this is an email I never use for anything - like legit, i've never used that email before!

I wouldn't expect much out of that just FYI.

After kiwami 1 and 2 that's really disappointing. I mean, why do I want a ps3 case? And what's a amaray(?) Case. Also, $87 for a $60 game. Get the fuck out. $79.99+tax is my absolute limit.

It's an error, it's gonna get lower than that before release.

The PS3 case is for people who bought all the games on PS3 that had a physical copy, except for 5. I think that's a nice touch.

Yakuza 5 never got a physical release, and to date it's the only Yakuza game that's never had one. So the PS3 case is a nice memento that you can slot into your collection (though because it doesn't come with a PS3 disc it feels a little weird, but whatever).

VGP has the whole collection for the proper $79.99 price, and shipping is free at the moment due to a promotion. ONLY USE PAYPAL WITH VGP, though.

I suppose licensing and all that would have made it impossible to have a physical PS3 copy of Y5 though. lol

What? No lol. Do you see any name other than Sega on that cover? Sega just never thought Yakuza 5 was worth a physical release, and now they're going through the effort of distributing an empty box.

My brother ordered from them just once in the last year. He ordered something from China, which had a 6 month shipping window apparently. Of course it never arrived, and the sellers account is deleted, cause that's some obvious Chinese eBay fraud. But that disqualified him from the coupon. I dunno who'd ever get any use out of this coupon.

In case there's someone here than doesn't check the eShop thread, Superbeat Xonic is $1.13 right now down from $37.73. If you have even a passing interest in rhythm games it's a definite buy.

Well I was thinking more the songs and actors and all the other stuff that is presumably tied to sales of each copy for royalty purposes. Sort of like how some companies make you download the JP track so they don't have to pay the full price of including it in every copy of the game.

Just a heads up to anyone that has recently switched to or upgraded to a Rogers Ignite bundle, just got an email for a $100 BestBuy e-Gift card as a welcome bonus that I had no idea was included.

Apparently they sent an email on the day I got the service (never received that email) but they resent the email today saying they fucked up on not including customers names in the original email. That's how I even found out about this.

So if you never got an email and recently got the service, call or chat with them to find out.

But, it's on PSN. Any issues like that would be present with the code-in-a-box version.

Eh, for me the only reason I would want it is to have a disc copy of the PS3 version of the game... I assume anyone who cares would already own it digitally anyway.
I mean it's a nice touch I guess, but yeah, it really is just useful shelf porn. lol

Never. If anything, stuff is marked way over a reasonable price.
The booth prices are really expensive for the vendors. One of the guys from a local shop told me the cost a couple of years ago and I remember thinking it was excessive but since they did so much business that weekend it was worth it to close the shop for the days leading up to and including the show.

The yakuza remaster having a y5 ps3 box for those that want to "fill a gap" is a nice touch, but as someone that doesnt own any of them on ps3 physical.. it looks really mind boggling. Especially with so many people complaining about plastic use.

I'm getting the remaster, especially the day one release (just waiting for bestbuy to put it up). Just like I got for every other ps4 release (besides 0, did that even have a special edition? I got y6 with the whiskey glasses). Just seems so silly and such a waste of money to produce an empty box.

Anyone in Toronto know if there's any particular kind of deals that happen on games (if at all any) at Fan Expo?

Freedom mobile usually has a deal at conventions. They will probably have 25% off Big Gig plans or something.

EB Games has had 10% off games before.

The rest of the convention centre is going to be loot boxes of worthless crap and anime titties*.

Which is expensive worthless crap

The loot boxes are hilarious because you may get one or two good things and a bunch of stuff they can't sell + if the shop was smart they'll have their name/logo on the box so you become a walking billboard for them the rest of the day. lol

Yeah usually the deals will have the employee discount which lasts a lifetime even with a new phone added to your tab. but it only discounts your plan and not the tab.

I mean tho the art there is pretty good I think last year I spent like 600 dollars on it lmao

Yeah but one of those boxes has a Nintendo Switch in it. I could be the lucky one.

Is this the season for alright Laptop Deals or does everyone pepper all the stores with cheap crap because Students are out in force looking for something for University?

Is there a good guide out there for what kind of Laptop Components are high quality and what are junk? Looking for something that can do some decently heavy lifting for Data Science and Programming but even as someone in that space I am having a hard time parsing through all the hardware. The only must for me is a SSD.
