Always remember the caveat Capcom does when parsing out numbers, they round down their sales numbers to a large degree.

So something like the DMC Franchise could have been at 17.9M sales and it still says 17.0 million, which then is updated to 20.0 million after DMCV sold 2.1 million.

In Japan I can't say off the top of my head, but probably around the amount the first MH Generations did. This time around most of the sales come from international markets.

To be fair , SFV is a modern game so Capcom counts Discounted SKUs and GOTY Editions ( Like AE ). For older games those aren't counted. I am Fairly certain DMC4 + SE + Budget re-releases + PC would be way higher. Heck maybe even DmC or DMC3.

DMC Franchise before DMC5 has sold 17.9m units. Its quite obvious the each title has sold more than the platinum page suggests. And given how poor DMC2 was received , I am guessing the other 4 titles did the heavy lifting in terms of sales.

For the record, while it's not listed there, Resident Evil 7 didn't have a small team either.

Speaking of RE7, happy to see it's been getting some growth. Probably be over 7 million within the next year or two.

Something to note about Remake2 , Capcom announced that the game sales broke 4M Copies as of 27 Feb 2019 , So from here we can say that in a whole month , Remake2 sold only 200K copies , which is worrying for the game's legs imo , especially that there is no content planned and there is no additional content to be added in a Gold Edition at all

SFV is only on two platforms, PS4 and PC.

SF4 was on PS3, 360, PC, PS4, 3DS, Xbone (via BC).

SF4 also had a forced revision in Super SF4 as well. And the title updates of Arcade Edition and Ultra were both sold as physical discs in addition to the dlc expansions.

According to what? I see you already got corrected about the team sizes but why are you so defensive? Because I wanted the game to do better? I know RE2 did great but to hope RE2 sells closer (or even better) to RE6 with 1 more platform is not some otherworldy expectation. Besides it's not all about budgets and team sizes which proved to be true so many times. RE2 is a legendary game and everybody went nuts for the Remake, critics and fans loved it death unlike RE6 which had terrible reviews and mostly bad WoM after that but it still sold more units.

Just to clarify RE is one of my favourite franchises from the PS1 days. I completed every game multiple times except RE6 because I found it terrible but I loved every second of RE2R.

Before the end of February, Capcom announced they had shipped 4 million units of Resident Evil 2 Remake. By the end of March we're at 4.2 million.

Which means RE2R shipped no more than 200k in the entirety of March. Legs aren't promising, especially with the DLC not being dated yet.
