I've bought RE7 three times. Once for physical PS4 on launch, then digitally got the Gold Edition for PS4 when I was in Korea and didn't have access to my physical collection, and then the third today when I got the Xbox Play Anywhere version on sale for $10 to have a PC version just for sake of preserving it. If they ever managed to get it running on the Switch, I would not get that version, though.

I would get that version, too

If all versions were combined it would be:

RE5: 11.8 mil
RE6: 9.5 mil
RE4: 9.2 mil
RE7: 7.9 mil
RE2 Remake: 7.2 mil

Wow, I know it's had several re-releases to get to this point, but crazy how far ahead 5 is above everything else.

Nice to see Resident Evil doing so well.

But it seems that RE7 sales include the Gold Edition though ?

Technically, RE5 with the Gold Edition is at 10 millions and would still be #1.

While some will say: "But if combined RE6 and 5 have sold more!"

But RE7 that much alone without any re-releases (I wouldn't say the Gold Edition is really a re-release imho) is impressive.

Monster Hunter World sales continue to be the biggest crow-serving event of the generation.

Not sure if my posts will be moved from previous thread, so:

Pretty strange that RE7 mashes regular and Gold edition on the Capcom platinum titles list, since gold edition obviously sold well on the merit of having all the DLC. So I don't think it's 'fair' to say RE7 is the single best selling release on the series.

Also, nice update to DmC as well! DmC:DE (1.1 million) + DmC (2.5 million) puts it at 3.6 million, just slightly off DMC5.

Edit: A Switch port for the DmC:DE could realistically put DmC over 4 million.

Okami HD is just the PS4/Xbox One/Switch version of the game and not the PS3 and X360 as well, right?

Because if you are going to tell me that Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite has outsold it...

"DmC: Devil May Cry DE - 1.1M *New Listing*"

I would have loved to have seen what Ninja Theory could have done with a follow up. It's a shame, it's just too bad Capcom and NT's plans for a sequel didn't work out.

Going to copy and paste what I wrote on a previous thread here really fast.

Capcom certainly has enjoyed a renaissance as of late. Between the successes of Devil May Cry V, Monster Hunter World (and Iceborne), and Resident Evil 7 (and likely the two remakes too), Capcom is now officially and properly back.

Now we just need to see that resurgence in their fighting games and all will be right in the world once more.

But yeah, seeing how many sales Monster Hunter World got really brings a smile to my face. It's almost as if to say the series that was about 15 years in the making has finally reached the pinnacle to be one of the top sellers out of Capcom.

The other hope is that if and when we do get to SF6, it does go multiplatform again (and when it launches, it is in a far better place than how SF5 launched).

Okami HD on the list is just the PS4/Xbone/PC/Switch version, the PS3 version never reached 1 million

But if you combine it with the PS2 and Wii versions, it's definitely higher than Infinite 😅

For a game so hated, RE6 keeps selling 200-300k each update.

RE5 only 200k away from 12 million.

Horror Resident Evil won!

Resident Evil 7 is RE7 & RE7 Gold Combined.

RE5 & RE5 Gold (Same Platforms no new ports) is still higher and more fair of a comparison (9.9).

Still nice to see the sales of RE7 though

It's a shame they wasted time and money making an inferior knockoff and we had to wait 11 years for a proper sequel.

here
capcom's big brands are still their big brands

now they need to dip back into the well and fish out some sleeping IPs

dont even have to make huge games out of them, just wake the dead before they sleep forever

Yes, slightly off of DMC 5 which has only been out 15 months and done 3.7 million vs. 3.6 million done in 5 and 7.5 years respectively.

RE7 made quite the climb.

And SFV kept on trucking to #10 on Capcom's all-time list.

Capcom is in a great place. You love to see it.

AS someone with zero interest in the monster hunter franchise what was the lead up to MHW like?

It was this, but with less catgirls in most place.

Finally bit the bullet and got RE7 in the last XBL sale.

Glad to hear they fixed the X version, will probably be the next game I start.

RE7 with those legs. RE2 gunning for that #2 all time spot.

DMC also legging it out, with both DMC4SE AND DmC DE putting up good numbers.

Capcom would be foolish not to put out a DMC5SE at this rate. Easy 1.5 million+ in the pocket.

DMC4:SE outsold DmC:DE? Didn't DmC come out first? Man, fans really just preferred the original stuff, huh? I liked the reboot okay for what it was, but you can tell what the people really wanted with that franchise. Really dedicated fanbase there

I wonder if RE7 and Gold is combined but RE5 isn't due to the former releasing in the same year whereas the Gold Edition of RE7 released in the same year. Granted one month before it would have been a year since release.

Still, happy to see RE7 at the top.

Edit: Or wait...

Is RE5 Gold not counted cause technically it got a Shield Android TV port along with the Gold Edition? If so, lol.
