Capcom has released the Fiscal Report amd Presentation for the Third Quarter for the Fiscal Year 2018/2019 that ends on March 2019

Their title for the press release was

" Continuing from Q2, highest profit levels in Capcom history driven by growth of core Consumer business "

Here is the Press Release

http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/html/e190204b.html

Some highlights from the Press Release

Overall Titles performance

This quarter, Monster Hunter: World, which caused a sensation in the market in the previous fiscal year, continued to drive results after surpassing 10 million units shipped—a first for any single title in Capcom's history. Also in the core Digital Contents business, in addition to titles such as Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Mega Man 11 performing well, high-margin catalog titles showed healthy sales growth. As a result, continuing from second quarter results, Capcom achieved the highest profit levels for the end of a third quarter in company history.

Monster Hunter Series

In this business, the Monster Hunter series served as the driving force in improving the Company's business performance. Feature title Monster Hunter: World (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) was a phenomenal success in the previous fiscal year, and continued to maintain popularity through the expansion of its user base, while the strong performance of the Steam version for PC boosted profits. Further, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (for Nintendo Switch), which was released in markets outside of Japan, enjoyed robust sales owing to its consistent popularity.

Megaman 11 , Onimusha Japan and Red Dead Redemption 2 Japan ( Distribution )

In addition, Mega Man 11 (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), a distribution title, reported strong sales, while sales of Onimusha, (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One), which was released at the end of 2018, were also off to a good start.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection , Mega Man X Legacy Collection, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC) performed strongly, while Mega Man X Legacy Collection, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC for all three titles) performed well thanks to a dedicated fan base and strong brand capabilities. In addition, high-margin catalog titles steadily increased sales and contributed to improving profitability.

Hope this bodes well for a chance of a new one on Switch.

Wonder how RE:2 Remake is performing this quarter for them. Congrats to Capcom for their strongest quarter ever, been killing it lately.

Good to hear about those Mega Man results. Ideally, that's all the more fuel to press on with (hopefully) more to come.

Hope this bodes well for a chance of a new one on Switch.

As others have said, I'd be willing to bet that the "Portable/Generations" team has already been quietly at work on one, as it is. But that's for another time.

They've made some very risky decisions that seem to have paid off. I hope they reboot lost planet next

Good. Maybe now that they've seemingly gotten their shit back together, they can continue making good games that will sell well. Win/Win for everyone.
Now give me Dragon's Dogma 2 dammit!

Did my part in buying both X Collections and MM11 day one on Switch.

Hopefully Capcom makes the next logical choice and greenlights X9 and Legends/Zero compilations, if they're not in the works already.

It's so wonderful to see a publisher like Capcom get rewarded for turning all of their stuff around. They've been raising in quality and can easily compete with EA, Ubisoft, or Square at this point. It feels like EA in 2008 when they were putting out Dead Space an Mirror's Edge and really experimenting with new ideas, rather than just rehashing the same licensed franchise games (remember all of those painfully mediocre Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings games they were making?). They just totally pivoted and went with what gamers were telling them they wanted, rather than just chasing focus group data and making mediocre sequels to beloved franchises.

It also speaks tot he lack of quality from some publishers, notably EA and Square.

Surprised RE7 sales weren't mentioned since we found out it sold another 300K last quarter by way of the RE2 press release.

I do not think it feels like exprerimenting with new ideas but rather just going for it in terms of budget and production value. All there games have been in well established franchises but they have really decided to spend the money and time to really make them shine. The gamble they did with Monster Hunter was really amazing they had such a stable income from that franchise but still they gambled and it paid of!

Not the best time to post this after the release of KH3. Besides SE have been much better this gen than last.

Because the first collection performs like dog shit no matter what settings I enable/disable (Playing on Switch). Heard the X collection performed similarly so that was an easy nope after being disappointed with the first collection.

Square Enix that in the last three years released Nier Automata, Life is Strange, Dragon Quest 11, Octopath Traveler, Kingdom Hearts 3 and some great games? Sure. lol

And no, they can't easily compete with none of those companies you mentioned. They're quite behind all the major japanese publishers with the gaming companies of Konami, Bandai Namco, Sega Sammy and SE and obviously by the big western ones.

Very happy to see MM11 performed well. I want the Mega Man franchise to be alive and kickin.

Capcom doing very nicely, such a great turnaround.

I'm so happy that a big videogame publisher that still does great single player games doing great and not only EA, Take Two, Ubisoft or Activision getting bigger and bigger. Especially when said company can also put out traditional games like Mega Man 11 and still sell well.

Now if only Konami could pull their heads out of their asses. Accept Metal Gear's dead but you have a great catalogue of IPs to choose from besides that.
