I'm secretly making this thread to say I'm glad James Bond 4K transfers are on iTunes (exclusively) but I'm mad MGM isn't part of Movies Anywhere yet

Also Casino Royale is my all time fav movie so I'm excited for Craig's final outing.

https://entertainment.inquirer.net/...erican-to-direct-007-film-talks-about-bond-25
"In his first Bond movie, 'Casino Royale,' he brought an incredible amount of vulnerability and humanity to the character, which was a big shift from Pierce Brosnan's run.

"In terms of what I can bring to change the character, Bond is on a character arc that started with 'Casino Royale,' and I will be carrying that on. There will be changes, I am sure. As in any story, a character has to change in order [to have] a narrative."

The 2014 Emmy best director-drama series for "True Detective" did not confirm nor deny the buzz that Christoph Waltz (Blofeld) and Ben Whishaw (Q) are not returning to the franchise's latest installment.

"Who is saying those rumors?" he asked aloud. "We haven't finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that. Those are two extraordinary actors, so if there is space for them in the story, I would absolutely want them there. But I don't know yet what it's going to be."

Good story to tell

On whether Cary is already planning "Bond 25's" action scenes, he said, "A little bit, but not all yet. I am trying to get the narrative stuff sorted out and have a good story to tell."

But Cary assures fans that "Bond 25" will keep the 007 movie tradition of featuring exotic locations.

"Yeah, there will be the things in the Bond-verse that you have come to expect," he promised. "I can't say too much, though."

Told that fans can't wait to see his "Bond 25," Cary quipped with a laugh, "Me, too! I can't wait either."

I hope he can revive my interest in Bond. Casino Royale is probably my favorite, and every film since has gotten worse and worse. I haven't had the energy to both with the last one.

Wait are we suggesting Skyfall was worse than Quantum of Solace?
Some people just lump everything post-Casino Royale together for some reason.

Quantum of Solace is underrated as hell, and Skyfall is fantastic. Too bad about Spectre being a rancid turd for the most part.

Casino Royale was top tier. Skyfall was an admirable (if flawed) return to form. Spectre felt lethargic, and the less said about Quantum of Solace the better.

I'm hopeful that Fukunaga can steer the series back on course -- if he lasts long enough as director, that is.

If I'm comparing them side-by-side, by themselves, nothing else....yeah, Quantum of Solace is a much worse film. However, I foolishly got my hopes up for Skyfall, expected something great, and left the theater extremely disappointed. The Skyfall disappointment cut me deeper than Quantum of Solace.

Casino Royale is the only movie in the franchise that approaches greatness.

Agreed.

I wonder if Cary Fukunaga is being allowed to take some creative risks, based on what Danny Boyle was trying to do (or rather, not doing). I feel like this is being regarded as "the one before the reboot" even before production got started, and if I were directing it, I wouldn't want that sentiment attached to my film.

I hope that means he intends to bring back some of the character depth from Casino Royale.
