Seriously, I could eat them; my eyes were wet by the end, hahah. Does this happen to anyone else? Getting wet eyes from looking at cute animals I mean; apparently it happened to my dad too, so it may be genetic!

This is my idiot of a cat who I very much love.

And here's him with his pal Shaun.

You'll have to forgive my photography.

Your pics aren't showing, guys; from the links it seems you linked them from your email or perhaps private google drive, which only you would be able to see. Can you upload them to imgur? You can do it with no account, it's just drag and drop.

"Look at this one posing like she's a model" - My mum

Some of out cats pose sexily all the time... typically the male ones. :D We call them their "draw me like one of your French girls" moments.

kmGY1S1.jpg

This is my parents' dumbass cat, Prince.

He's a sweetie, but he's weird. Drools when you pet him.

Less weird than you think: it happens to two or three cats I know, including one of the ones we're fostering. They get sooo relaxed that their jaw goes slack. So basically when your cat does that, he's in seventh heaven. :)

Also a recommendation: don't actually put your pics in quote tags like you would on GAF: Era resizes images automatically without them. In fact if you quote tag them they become a bit unconfortable to see, as they're very small by default but when you click them they become full size, which can be huge. I should probably add this to the OP.

Best topic of the day. Great story too, OP.

When I visited Rome I went to this place which is a cat sanctuary among the ancient ruins. It's quite amazing to see them all there, and you realize that Rome has such an abundance of historical sites that they just let cats have this one. It says here volunteers look after the cats, and I saw that while there. I do hope they stay there and don't venture out to the square around the area which had busy traffic, at least during the daytime.

Our favorite vacation spot is Playa del Inglés, in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). Besides having an amazing, huge beach, there's a long beach promenade packed with cats happily living there: no cars, lots of gardens to hide in, warm weather all year long, lots of cuddles from tourists, and they're tended by a few locals who feed them daily and take them to the vet when necessary, including spaying. My SO, of course, makes a ritual to go there every night we're there (which is when they come out) and give them cat treats anyway, and some of them even sleep on her lap. We've seen other tourists do the same, no wonder they're all quite plump.

This is Chloe (left) and Spooky. Sisters and are 15 years old, still act like kittens (and aren't much bigger than some, they're pretty small compared to regular cats). Chloe's been getting thin for a while so we're worried she won't be around much longer, but she doesn't really act much different (other than finding the occasional, random poop around the house) so we hope she's sticking around for a while yet.

Spooky has the greenest eyes, and Chloe's are quite yellow. But you can't tell from the shitty iPhone pic:
mIQwyUw.jpg

Spooks is the rascal, who loves to tap you when you're not paying attention to her, she's more dog-like than our greyhound. Chloe acts like a grandma and purrs super loudly. She also loves boxes and scratching walls she's not supposed to. Also, they're indoor-only kitties and do NOT like to be held at all.

How cute is that love-heart nose?!?

They were my wife's for 10-ish years before we met (since they were kittens) but they've since adopted me as their cat-dad.

Have you taken her to the vet? She may need pills to help regulate her thyroid, or steroids, maybe.

She went to the vet and had blood tests done, they showed elevated blood calcium which I think can indicate cancer, but this was two years ago. When we told the vet while getting our greyhound checked out, we said she was still alive and the vet was surprised (said that it must've been temporary or something). But because she doesn't like being picked up ergo she doesn't like being put in the carrier (or being at the vet*), it causes too much stress for her and us to get her checked again.

Given her visible frailty (not that she has ANY trouble getting around, we'll find her in the strangest places sometimes!) we're just spoiling her as long as we can. We honestly thought given her weight loss we'd lose her last year, but she's still queen of the household!

*During her tests they referred to her as "Chloe the Ferocious"! Let out this really deep meow, almost a roar. It's super intimidating hearing it coming from her. You wouldn't expect it coming from this face, would you?

Side note: The bit out of her ear is from a play(?)fight with her sister when they were kittens. Long before I came along!

This thread is too much. I never saw myself as a cat person until we got one and she fell asleep in my arms. Then it was decided. Love the pics so far and will have to post my own sometime.

My cat Sif last christmas!
This is a great shot.

This is Leo. He's a nervous little guy but super sweet and loves to chirp at birds.

This is Marina. She's the sweetest little thing, the nicest cat I have ever had. She sleeps on my head at night.

Love the look she has here. Sleeping habit reminds me of my own.

This is Higgins, our beloved dumbass... or latent genius. Still not sure.

I'll forgive it. But I will not forgive the broken links. This will not stand. Cat pics that we cannot see? This is terrible. Fix this ASAP. A moderator ordered you to!

Fixed my images. I guess Google Photos doesn't make it very apparent that your links aren't visible to others.

My old cat. In all his scarred, sliced and diced glory. Wasn't a week when he wouldn't return with new battle scars.
At age 17 he had a 5cm tumor removed from his hind leg. At age 18 he got a stroke and went blind in one eye. Yet he still insisted on going outside during the night.
At 19 he got a second stroke, taking his seight completely. Half a year later, he died in my arms after a third stroke while pooping. A true friend through thick and thin.

And yeah, he basically pushed me off my pillow each time.

I miss this cat.

Ruud (grey/white) & Tet (brown/white)! Brother and sister from the same litter. They were stray kittens (probably dumped) who walked up to the place we were staying at that time. They also have a brother, Spot, but someone else took him in. They have been brilliant, altough Tet is a nervous kitty and occasionaly pees outside of the litterbox (preferebly on soft stuff that fell on the ground, like a towel or some clothes).

So many beautiful cats, I just can't. :)

Edit: Disregard, it's showing now. These are super adorable, are they your cats? :)

This thread is too much. I never saw myself as a cat person until we got one and she fell asleep in my arms. Then it was decided. Love the pics so far and will have to post my own sometime.

As someone who's know about a literal hundred different adopters, like 70%-80% of first time adopters are exactly like this. "I didn't think cats were like this; I'm in love with mine". Such unfair reputation they have. :(

The tongue sticking out may be an indicator for teeth problems

If the cat does it all the time (you find drool collected on their chin, for example, especially if it's black / mixed with blood), indeed it could be a gum / teeth problem (Tigris is like that, my poor thing, due to calicivirus she got from her life on the street; she's on permanent medication). If they only do it when you pet them, it's almost certainly just due to relaxation. Of course, it never hurts to ask a vet (and this is solid advice in general).
