Since this news has started, the hashtag #WontBeErased has been trending on Twitter being used by transgender people who are fighting for their right to exist in the United States. There is no scenario where this can be as anything other than transphobia.

This is not a tone deaf response or accidental usage of a hashtag, but the third time they have done something like this. Posts which attempt to downplay or dismiss the transphobic nature of the tweet or play things off as simply tone deaf will be moderated appropriately.

I'd call it tone deaf rather than trashing trans people. Very, very, very tone deaf. Like amazingly, idiotically so.

CDPR really need to re-evaluate their Common Sense Social Media Practices and their employee conduct.

Just to do my own homework, did the hastag come into existence subsequent to the recent news about Title IX?

I assume their pr staff are all based in Poland and so are out of the loop for a lot of this kind of stuff, but part of working for a globally relevant company should involve finding out what the hashtag you're using is actually about.

I wonder if it's the same person employed to handle both/all CDP social media accounts. If it is, they're demonstratively tone deaf and not suitable for the role. Put them in training and a performance plan, monitor their work, and if they don't improve replace them.

Man, it's a dire pattern of behavior. Ain't no sweeping it aside as a singular bad actor or mistake. This is what CDP is - actively hostile to the LGBTQ community. Eff this.

Appreciate this, as a Brit I had zero idea what the hashtag was about.

Callous and tone deaf from CDPR. I've no idea what the fuck they're doing. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt either, this isn't an isolated incident.

Yup, that is the worst part of it. I want to believe that person had no idea what the hashtag was about, but dude, if you are working in Social media, you should know your trends.

GOG's whole thing is selling classic PC games, and as long as they;re around there will be a place to purchase and preserve them.

That this has happened multiple times on the same subject makes it clear that it's not just tone deaf. Their social media person/people are bigots, and management clearly shares their views since they are continuing to do it w/o being let go.
