What is an apology worth?
When a famous person has fucked up, usually the outrage goes ballistic if that person "doesn't even apologize", and yet when a person does apology it's all this "too little, too late" shit. Granted, you never have to accept someones apology. It's your right to tell people to go fuck themselves. Talk is easy, saying your sorry is the easiest thing in the world, but it does seem to me that if you're a public figure and you've fucked up, there ain't a whole lot to gain, and two, you might even look worse.
Chance ain't different from most famous people in that he chances his opinion when people turn on him, because it hurts his popularity, favorability and his bottom line. There is nothing in saying you're sorry that suggests that he is remorseful, but is only changing his outward public opinion to save his career. So not only is he spineless, but his morals are also weak enough to that he'll do a 180. Make no mistake- Chance likes and supports Kanye. A sociopath who has been toxic for as long as he has been famous.
I'm not saying that people should hate Chance. I like him. I don't believe that peoples defining characteristics are necessarily decided by the value by their bad aspects. Chance has done a lot of good things for a lot people, and I don't think that him being wrong on a particular aspect is worthy of a "fuck him". But I don't see how his public apology / statements mean anything. It's PR game of kissing babies with no sincerity. And it yields little actual productivity as far as anyone actually doing shit. It's a lot of famous people talking about they really feel, how they really meant. So what? How does that help anyone? Talk is cheap, and that's most of what all these famous people are doing. Fucking talking. Waste of goddamn time and energy.
