What are some characters you suspect will *never* get into Smash? Leave out the obvious ridiculous choices like Goku, Banjo-Kazooie, Master Chief, or any character who hadn't appeared on a Nintendo console:
1. Daisy and Waluigi. Outside of Daisy being an alt for Peach, I can never see them being playable. They're just not important enough and are used for Mario Kart and sports games. Toad/Captain Toad would likely be the next mainstream Mario character that Sakurai would choose from the series.
2. Geno. Admittedly I give it a 50% chance if only because he got a Mii outfit and Sakurai said he considered him. But he is co-owned by Square and I don't think they would bother to use him over other mainstream Square characters if they get another.
3. Midna, Vaati, Girahim, Tingle, etc. Out of all these Zelda characters I don't see Sakurai choosing a one-shot character and their time has all past. Impa probably has a small chance but there's no definitive version of her. Maybe Skull Kid/Majora's Mask because he's a villain.
4. Dark Samus, a Hunter, etc. Out of the Metroid franchise I don't think any character will be chosen outside if Sakurai ever changes his mind on Ridley.
5. Krystal. Her time has passed and if Star Fox gets another character it'll likely just be Wolf brought back.
6. Bandana Dee. I don't think Kirby will get a new rep, and it's like making Koopa Troopa or a Goomba playable.
7. Samurai Goroh. Admittedly if F-zero didn't die for 15 years he might have gotten in at some point. Now though I don't think he has a chance.
8. Wario Ware character. It seems like Sakurai doesn't consider the Wario Ware cast main character worthy, so Ashley, Kat and Anna, etc...probably will just remain Assist Trophies.
9. Isaac from Golden Sun. The series has been dead for awhile, I don't think he'll ever be considered now.
10. Saki from Sin and Punishment, same reason as above, not popular enough.
11. Advance Wars character. Sami or Andy seemed to be popular choices, but the series has been dead for over a decade so I doubt they will ever be considered.
12. Hades from Kid Icarus. I think that series is done with new reps, and the franchise will likely remain dormant for some time.
13. Decidueye, Deoxys, etc. I think if Pokemon gets a new rep it'll be a Gen 8 Pokemon we don't know about yet.
14. Paper Mario. This is a mix for me, Paper Mario would have unique moves but I don't think Sakurai ever considered making him playable. Paper Mario didn't even get a stage till the 3DS game either.
15. Wonder Red from Wonderful 101. The franchise bombed, highly unlikely.
16. Shovel Knight or Shantae. I don't think indie games especially ones not popular in Japan would ever be considered.
