I hate restaurants that have standard pricing as a hamburger and then charge you like 1.50 to add cheese. Just make cheeseburgers as the standard.

I'm not a big cheese fan (and especially not American cheese!) so I typically opt for a burger without cheese. Put some bacon in it and I'm good

I really like cheeseburgers, as hamburgers are just too boring for my tastes. But I just put ketchup and mustard on mine. Pretty boring, I know.

I think most cheeseburger cheese is gross. Like that American Cheese garbage you buy at supermarkets.

It's why I default to hamburgers most of the time.

A good restaurant might tempt me to the cheesier variant, however.

I'm going to have to disagree. I've toured the cheese world when it comes to cheeseburgers, but I'm finally come home to American cheese only. I wouldn't American cheese on its own, but it's THE quintessential cheese for cheeseburgers, bar none.

I also want to make an important distinction.

Cheeseburgers, to me, is when the cheese is intentionally (and fully) melted on the burger through means of heat and/or steam. Anyone who places cheese on a burger after the cooking process is making a hamburger with cheese, and not a cheeseburger.

Come at me.

honestly, i feel like the cheese ain't given enough time to melt into goop otherwise

placing a cold slice on a hot, standing party will only get you so far

all you need is the last 30 seconds or so while the burg is still cooking

Midgar, With Love
I once put my pinky finger on a cheeseless burger on a dare from a friend

My pinky fizzled away and I've never seen it since

I was once offered a hamburger at a party as a kid but declined because I thought that they literally meant ham.

I like cheeseburgers, but with the right toppings I'll choose a hamburger. For instance, I always liked the Whopper Jr., which does not have cheese on it. But, at fancier burger restaurants, if they use something like avocado/guac or other toppings, then cheese isn't really necessary for me.

At home when I burger, I do pepper jack + mustard + ketchup + pickles. Shits the bomb.

Cheese, duh. Depends on the rest of the content what type tho, my usual go-to for a standard burger is Gouda (basic af, but does the job of adding cheesyness), though I also have gone with spicy cheeses or even Parmigiano (in combination with pomodori secchi, rocket salad and a caesar-based sauce).

More importantly: Pickles! I NEED THEM!

I like cheese burgers more. But you can't put the cheese on top of the burger. It has to go on the bottom.

So the layout of the burger is like this:

Top Bun

+

toppings

+

Burger

+

cheese

+

Bottom Bun

You can't put the toppings ontop of the cheese. The toppings have to go ontop of the burger. Similar to how a burger should be incased in lettuce.

As a child, I'm ashamed that I through a hissy fit when cheese ended up on my burger. Like, I wouldn't even eat it because it disgusted me.

My older self is squinting his eyes at that child.

I sometimes forget cheeseburger and hamburger aren't synonyms. I'd only choose to go without the cheese if it were some strange specific specialty burger where no cheese seemed right.
