Cloud saves for FFVII on Steam disappeared, did Square wipe them out?

So I logged into FFVII today just to discover all my saves are gone. The game doesn't use Steam Cloud but the Square cloud system, which was enabled. I checked on the steam forums and other people have this problem, so did Square just nuke the saves from their servers?
