Indeed. Not a single laugh was had here. This is so canned that it hurts, and I'm amazed that gamers enjoy this kind of stuff.
He's encouraged to improve through the medium of cold hard cash money

Nah, it's all in good fun. It's his schtick. His audience is aware of this. No-one is embarrassed to say they like playing games nowadays, and gaming isn't a religion.
I do agree that this was unfunny though. Celebrities add nothing to this. Arms was the worst episode, and I like Will Arnett.
Companies love to pay for a lot of crap for publicity. That doesn't make it good.
I feel like back when it was just Conan and Aaron, they had a good rhythm of Conan being a jerk and Aaron being the stragiht man. Now the guests usually just help feel like they're doing nothing but mocking whatever game they're talking about.
This ones kind of odd because it doesn't really sell the game in a positive light. I feel like if I didn't know anything about God of War and and saw this then I wouldn't really care about the game.
some of its good. that's why this series has gone on so long and companies keep wanting the attention it brings.
that's the schtick tho. it'd just be another polygon video if it was called "The Well-Informed Gamer"

so? the feature is both popular and good. separate things, but it manages to be both and highly profitable.

Sometimes you have to be able to laugh at yourself even if you don't fit the stereotype. When they made fun of the continuity of the God of War games I thought that was hilarious. WIth so many people taking Kratos' character arc so seriously an irreverent take about the previous games was funny to me. Step outside the forum bubble and laugh a little bit.

I thought this segment was hilarious, and I never laugh at these. I was enjoying myself until the massive effing spoiler -- wtf were they thinking queuing up that part of the game?!
Thank goodness I beat it a while ago, but it still bothered me. Tons of people are going to watch that who haven't even played yet. Terrible form.

I'm very happy to laugh at myself when the jokes are actually good, and not trite perpetuations of obsolete stereotypes that have been joked about for three decades.

It's all in good spirit, chill out. I doubt anyone takes these videos seriously. It's not like they don't make this sort of comedy skits of basically any other form of entertainment.
Is that some sort of obligation? I think I'm perfectly entitled to criticize something I find distasteful, as much as you're entitled to appreciate it.
When you threw your sense of humor away I really hope you recycled. I have game engineer and designer all around Los Angeles who absolutely LOVE these videos/segments and tweet them and tell people about them. Seriously... your opinion and opinions like these are harmful to, like, fun.
The ones dictating what they can play for the segment is often the company making them promote the game. So I'm assuming that's in Sony's court.

Eh, it was stupid and the guest was stupid. It was funny when it was just Conan being ignorant about it (hence the monicker “clueless gamer”) but now him and the guest is just mocking the entire thing. The segment isn’t even about the game anymore but more about the guest.
