You guys will have to forgive my ignorance. I wouldn't have created a thread at all, but I didn't see anyone else jumping on it.

In short, I'm not sure what this would mean, if anything. Another mobile acquisition, perhaps? Something Destiny 2 related?

Any financially-inclined members out here know what this could be indicative of, or know whether it's a good or bad sign generally?

Edit: I see I was beaten. Preparing to be absorbed. I hope it doesn't hurt.

Their stocks are frozen due to some news they are about to release.

Why would they halt trading just because their earnings are being released today? If that were normal, why would it warrant a news article and a JUST IN tweet from CNBC?

Feels like something else is happening...

Activision Blizzard Inc.'s (ATVI) earnings may have been leaked early Thursday, with reports of Q1 revenue topping $1.7 billion. Analysts originally projected the company to post revenue of $1.32 billion.

After the brief pop in afternoon trading, shares were down about 5%, as of this writing.

The stock has since been halted.

The release was initially posted on Dow Jones News Wire, but the report has not yet been verified by Activision. "
If their earnings are 25% better than projections why the "dive" before being halted? I know nothing about the markets apparently...

Part of me likes to think that due to Belgium's recent ruling on Loot Boxes, this would be their time for "reevaluation." Of course, I doubt something as little as that would have raised any red flags. Also would be funny if Destiny 2 played a hand in concerns too, but I doubt it would be that either.

Still, if your earnings got thrown out there for the world to see and would cause people to panic, that's totally understandable.

I imagine their financials won't be the best with COD in decline and things like Skylanders no longer there to pick up the slack.

Perhaps they are leaving the gaming space and are entering the pachinko industry.
