Anyone who played the alpha notice any improvements in the new demo?
Curious too.

I'm all for opinions, and this game isn't perfect, but my dude, Lords Of The Fallen? Really?Budget Dark Souls. The feedback is weak as fuck, the rythm is not good, nothing fun or interesting in it. It's even worse than Lord of Fallen.
As an aside, can I ask what was wrong with Lords of the Fallen? I played it when it first released and it came off as a perfectly competent, if paint-by-numbers Souls clone. A bit on the easier side but that was one of the things I liked about it. My Souls training paid off.I'm all for opinions, and this game isn't perfect, but my dude, Lords Of The Fallen? Really?

Okay, yeah. I can definitely see the complaints about it being generic, but people are out here acting like it's the worst game ever. For me it boiled down to boring environments and unmemorable bosses. I don't think it's a bad game, but it definitely wasn't for me
I all but cleared the depths area of the demo.
The Queen's Knight is just unfair and unfun to fight against. The same attack can sometimes not be blocked or evaded at random with a follow-through swing that tracks you through your evade to do about 600 damage.
I can get it down to about 1/4 life before some telegraphed move that I block eats through my guard and hits me with one extra attack in focus.
Without the active berserker trait to increase stagger, I don't think I could get as far as I did in this fight.

I was specifically talking about Lords of the Fallen in the bit you quoted. I actually enjoyed the Code Vein demo more than I thought I would.I hate anime games and I'm eh on Souls games, but I've followed this for some time (and tried it out at NYCC years back) and I've got to say that there is a ton of polish and cool character creation options here.
Not seeing anything egregiously shitty here...unless we're talking about the hyperbole present in this thread relative to its quality.
I really liked this fight 😅 I beat him solo today at level 1 using the pipe (not rubbing it in, I'm just pleased with the challenge):I all but cleared the depths area of the demo.

I have to ask, how do you even get to the Depths? I can't seem to figure it out.I all but cleared the depths area of the demo.

ohhh, okay. I didn't talk to that guy much. Thanks.Once you wrap up the demo (get to the home base and talk to the NPCs until you get a splash screen that tells you what else you unlocked), talk to the NPC next to the bridge.

You need to at least have "normal" or preferably "quick" mobility and learn the dodge timings; dodge to the side or behind him for sword slashes, towards him for the long thrusts and don't attack if his shield is up. As others have said, don't bother blocking.
The one skill I would encourage you to use is shifting hollow, which can phase through his bullshit spin attack - I haven't found another way to consistently avoid it, but this gift served me well. It also helps in the final phase if you have trouble avoiding his aerial attacks.
Progress does not carry over.does demo progress carry over to release? i played the previous demo, so if it doenst ill probably wait.
ok, thanks for the reply!Progress does not carry over.
Supposedly they will update the demo at some point so you can carry over character customization data, though.

Beautiful...That's good. I need my glowing afro in the main game.
Thanks! I've never played Darksiders (it's in my library thanks to PS Plus...) but I'd say your description is accurate in terms of it being a B-grade Souls-like.Great job on the fight.
I've not really been following this game after the first couple of trailers. After watching the video I'm getting heavy Darksiders 3 vibes from the combat. That is, very 'Souls' but lacking the feedback and generally solid feeling of the Souls games. A solid B grade clone, which is not as bad as it sounds - but I was just surprised to see that it looked as generic as it does.
I just played it for a couple of hours. I really liked it!
The story is kind of groan-worthy so far, but i like the oppressive atmosphere.
Definitely gonna buy this, but probably when it's $30
Yeah, the story is about as exciting as burlap. And I found a couple bosses in the second area to be stupid hard.Actually, on second thought, I don't know about "definitely" gonna buy this, but I'll consider it. I had fun but if the story's gonna be boring I'll pass
How did you even kill one of those? I ways get obliterated almost immediately.
I'm probably over-leveled at this point. Sitting at around 31. I can't quite solo them yet, but the Vanguard is a pushover for me. There's a shitload of metagame in there. I've seen some videos where people are bodying the Queen's Knight at level 1. Some of the blood code builds are downright broken. How did you even kill one of those? Pro here. I'm guessing it's over 1080p and shooting for 60fps. Some of the stills I've taken in the character editor and at the hub almost look hand drawn, digital colored. The frame rate is a bit uneven, but the seat of my pants says it probably doesn't dip below the mid-40s. Feels stuttery with a bunch of larger enemies on screen. I'm still not familiar enough with stun times so it's hard to say if this affects gameplay.Do we know how it runs on PS4 Pro vs XBOX One X? I may load it up on both and do some A/B testing.
I haven't seen an update yet. When's their TGS demo? It will probably drop then.
My issue is that I have a hard time dodging their attacks. The dodge roll doesn't give you enough distance.Still working on soloing the second area. As I said before, the Vanguard is a non-threat. The Noblewomen are still pretty tough. They like to clump together making it difficult to read their moves.
Don't roll away, roll toward. Blocking works well too. Just make sure you don't eat a hammer thrust. That shit will break your block. My issue is that I have a hard time dodging their attacks. The dodge roll doesn't give you enough distance.
Should I be using a regular sword or my enormous anime-sword that I normally use?Don't roll away, roll toward. Blocking works well too. Just make sure you don't eat a hammer thrust. That shit will break your block.
You can use either, though you'll need the heavy sword to tank their hits on block. Just wait for opening and punish when you can. Don't get greedy though. Don't try to get in that extra hit. They'll one-shot you. Teleport dash helps too. I used it to get out of their way and control space early in the fight on that last video.Should I be using a regular sword or my enormous anime-sword that I normally use?
You might have already beaten them by now, but as ExitPlanetDust said, either will work. Further up they also showed that you can backstab those bosses, so keep that in mind because it deals a ton of damage.Should I be using a regular sword or my enormous anime-sword that I normally use?
