Does it have VR?

I loved Dirt Rally in Playstation VR. Rally games are not really my thing, but VR really changed it for me.

Well, the switch doesn't have analogue triggers so I don't see how it would even work. The first Dirt Rally was very hardcore.

I watched the trailer but don't see any Lancia Stratos.
Please help.

awesome trailer, I'm sure I'll suck just like with the first game but I gotta support rally releases

That's a neat trailer.
Enjoyed the first one. See if I might get this one, releasing in the midst of a heavy schedule.

On a sidenote, I think Codemasters is now the only developer not to have released a game on the Switch yet that was among the parnerlist.

Loved the first one. It was punishing if you failed, but the handling model felt very accessible. You could thrash the cars around a lot and it felt fun. Like the old PSone Colin McRae games in fact. They just took that approach and made it the worst thing ever to crash. Lol.

Is every developer nowadays supposed to shit out a downport of their games? How did you people live until the NSX was released?

Excited for the game, the original Rally is the best in its genre since 2004's Richard Burns Rally.

Looks like a significant upgrade in graphics at the very least. Dirt Rally is awesome.

Fuck. Yes.

Track selection looks great - so they must be entirely building new environments, no hold overs from the first game.

Also - why is this entire thread about a non existent switch version?

Closing the trailer with the iconic sound of Quattro reverbrating around the mountains shows how Codemasters really get what rally is all about.

It's really strange to me how games get announced these days. Little to no fanfare. They just seem to appear out of nowhere. I've no idea when this started happening, but it seems to be becoming a more and more common practice

This looks like what Dirt 4 should have been.

Super excited.

I'm ready to be afraid of cutting corners.

EDIT: Oh wait, I saw the release date, good luck Codie :(

Awesome! I was hoping gor that Game.

Hopefully 2.0 indicates cm recognized the opportunity to build a long term Service Model with bringing new Cars, Stages, Liveries, etc.

Can't watch trailer right now but improved graphics was my biggest hope. Particularly HDR add's so much to the skyline and track/stage detail.

Everything else was already spot on.

Incredible news.

Dirt Rally was by far the most fun I've ever had with a racing game.

Oh cool, no Early Access this time? I'm getting this day 1 for XOX for sure! First one was super hard for me but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

Why do we need 3 Rallye games in one generation? I'd rather have Codemasters do something like Toca or DRM Race Driver again.

Obviously there's no Switch version. This game flat out would not work without analogue triggers!

Looking forward to this. First was great, skipped Dirt 4. Hope the air physics are a little more believable this time rather than heading into orbit in Finland.

Hoping they take inspiration from IOI and somehow make the stages from the first dirt rally available to play in 2.0. Especially if its free for owners of the first game or at least a reasonably priced dlc. I don't care if they don't look quite as good as the new stages, I'd just love to have as many stages as possible from within the same game.

i hope the dust trail at the end of the trailer is all in-game. i measure a rally game's quality on it's dust trails! lol

usually it all disperses a few ft behind the cars and looks garbage. WRC on the PS2 had amazing dust trails. and nothing has since really improved upon it much. this however looks great. really long trail, stays in the air, slow dispersion. looks nice!

anyone know how codemasters are doing btw? i got the impression DiRT 4 was a bit of a flop and OnRush certainly was since it killed the studio.

Yeah, release date couldn't be worse.

I'm crossing my fingers for the Celica and Corolla, they were absent in the first :(

Why do we need 3 Rallye games in one generation? I'd rather have Codemasters do something like Toca or DRM Race Driver again.

First why would that be a problem? I don't see nobody complaining about Forza Horizon 4 and Battlefield V being the 3rd game on this gen so why would that be different with rally games? Second, this is the 2nd rally game from Codemasters this gen. Dirt 4 can be a lot of stuff but it's not a true rally game. It's the 3rd rally game this gen if you count WRC7 which is a competent game but nowhere near the rally experience that Dirt Rally provided.

The only thing I want from this is the complete removal of locked cars (it would probably be even worse...) because on a game geared towards a hardcore crowd there is no reason to have "XP carrot" systems in there. Developers should start to see there are consumers that don't like that vanilla crap. C'mon Codemasters be brave.

Not enough rally games. All in for Dirt Rally 2.0. I wonder if these are all the environments? Where's Sweden or some snowy stuff. Poland is a nice addition :). Bring it and give me a steel book edition! :)

PS. laughing at the 'why not on Switch, though' comments ;D. How can you imagine playing SIMULATION without analogue triggers at least or a wheel? Dirt Rally 1 was more challenging on pad than wheel.

curious to know if the track generator will be included in this one? it was a nice little feature of DiRT 4. to have it in a better rally game would be nice.

I played not nearly enough of the first one, despite actually liking it very much. So many other games happened that, but I really should get back to it. Happy to see the sequel, it's on my wishlist for sure.

Seriously?

That's the first thing worth mentioning for you when opening a thread about a newly announced game?
Seriously every fucking thread here now has posts filled with switch begging or why no switch version. It's really annoying. Half the posts on this forum are Switch related these days which is annoying enough but then you have to see this too in threads like this that have nothing to do with it.

VR included?

Racing is the one genre that I can't really go back to playing normally after getting used to VR. And Dirt Rally was great in VR.

There's also a bit more information here: http://www.codemasters.com/codemasters-announces-dirt-rally-2-0/

Specifically, regarding the deluxe edition and pre-orders:
All pre-orders editions of DiRT Rally 2.0 will include access to the amazing Porsche 911 RGT Rally Spec as a bonus vehicle to use on the stages. In addition there will also be a DiRT Rally 2.0 Deluxe Edition which also includes the first two seasons of post-launch additional content, each with three locations (split between rally and rallycross) and five early vehicles unlocks (Ford Escort MkII, Lancia Stratos, Subaru Impreza 1995, AUDI Sport quattro S1 E2 and Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lite). The Deluxe Edition will also allow players to get their hands on the game four days early, launching on 22nd February 2019 and also includes upgraded starter cars for My Team, in-game bonuses and high reward events. More details about the seasons will be revealed soon.

Nice to see they plan to at least somewhat support the game with future content.
