This almost certainly wouldn't be anything similar at all though other than "comic books" given the tone of Ragnarok. Bale could be lining up for a largely comedic role.

Also before we get too excited, are we sure this isn't a Matt Damon-type role?
Damn never would have thought Bale would consider going comic book again, I hope he's the villain, he could definitely play one hell of a bad guy.

That's a pretty good guess, especially if they are lifting from the Jane Thor comics. Ties in with Malekith and the Frost Giants as well, so a lot of familiars. I'd be surprised if they bring Malekith back, though he was wasted in Dark World.
I think Balder is a possibility.
I think Balder was almost in Dark World, they might want to take another shot at him. My other thought is maybe the voice of Beta Ray Bill, but unless he's also doing mocap I would think he'd be cast much later if that was the case.
