Not to get too serious about personal lives, but do any of you actually like your jobs?

I get to wake up when I want so long as I get my work done, so that part's dope.

I can explain what it is for me.

And remember that I've never actually watched a match with any of these people. I don't know their storylines or how good they are in the ring or anything.

Bayley isn't trying at all to be cool. She just about fun.

Like Alexa Bliss is super fucking hot, and Becky Lynch is doing the whole "I'm a cold-blooded badass, just like a dude" thing. And that's all great. I'm for all of that.

But then Bayley is just like hugs and positivity and fun. It's not cool, it's not sexy, it's not badass, it's just good times.

Again, I don't watch any of this, so go easy on me if I sound like a jackass. But these people go in so hard on their branding that it isn't difficult to pick up on what they're all about.

I don't think you can sound like a jackass when you're mostly spouting positive information. But yeah, that's definitely the gist of who Bayley is. Granted, she's about to toss hugs and positivity aside for her one true love: THE BOSS, Sasha Banks.

And since I'm explaining why these people appeal to me, I'll get to Brandi.

She comes off with with so much confidence and class, but the important thing is that it doesn't look like she's trying to come off that way, if that makes sense. It seems like that's just her natural energy, and that's magnetic.

Ehhh, I wouldn't say that. She's a person with a demon sword, that's hardly lighting the world on fire. Her greatest strength is looking like early new Mutants Illyana with a Claymore.

Whitefox is a lot more interesting on a conceptual level cause entire concept of a Kumiho being the head of a spy organization is dumb comic books at its maximum.
I like the legacy of it all.
Any comics podcasts you guys enjoy? Jay and Miles is the most fun I've had listening to a podcast in a while. Whether it's that sort of style or something talking about newer releases I'm down for whatever.
Man I used to like Jay and Miles, but then I got bored. Plus after they got divorced it felt off to me.

She's also making her husband woke.

Watching her perform you might walk away with a different impression lol. She's still confident and classy, but also kinda slimy since she's sort of a villain.

So I read the first few issues of Dial H last night. I'm liking it so far. It seems easy to get into and the pages fly by. I was initially hesitant to pick it up because I had a really hard time getting into the last Dial H book by China Mieville.

I don't know if anyone here is actually getting it, but BC just dropped a major spoiler about Nepotism-Man that makes it more interesting than it seemed.

it's actually about Peter and MJ's son, Ben Parker.

I was getting it just because, but now I'm actually intrigued.
Woah, that sounds super interesting actually lol. I might have to check out the first issue then and see how it is.

Also, I kinda want to see Damon Lindelof do a book next lol

I only wish I had a steady job. I'm trying my best, but life's been utter crap for me, lately. Not to mention trying to move on from my recent assault.
I hope things turn around for you, and we're here if you need support.

I suck at saying supportive things that don't just sound like cliches, but I figure it's better to throw out a heartfelt cliche than to say nothing just because I suck at it.

I like that BC apparently has it on good word that Spider-Man is an *actual* collaboration between father and son and it isn't just lens flare man jr.'s book with his dad's name slapped on.

I hope it's actually good.

He's very good, but it's not just him. I really like how the book meshes all these vastly different art styles together.

Sorry you had to go through that. Hope things get better for you.

No one would buy it, but at least it would look nice.

How does Vampirella continue to be a popular series?

Porn?

Is it just porn?
It's gotta be. I've tried to read it a few times and it was overwhelmingly mediocre. Just like Red Sonja and Dejah Thoris and any other fanservice book you care to name. I don't doubt there's a good run somewhere, like Red Sonja, but I couldn't find one.

I fall asleep immediately when people talk about comic book sales, but I actually would be interested to read something breaking down the business side of things like Vampirella. That kind of book that seems to always be around, for decades, but no one you know reads it.

Because the premise doesn't grab me, and the costume design hasn't changed no matter the names they put on the book. Well, there was that one really cool redesign that lasted for a quick minute.

Vampirella had crazy good art back in the 70s when sexy horror comics with European artists were in.

I assume she's been coasting along on good will since then.

i do. i'm a tech lead for a big data-focused company. it's challenging, but (mostly) not super stressful and i work with a lot of cool, smart people.

i make 6 figures, i'm working from home 2 days a week right now and i get a full suite of benefits like 401k matching and good health insurance. work/life balance is pretty decent - i am usually in the office 8-4 on days i go in.

the only thing missing is an equity package to go along with my cash bonus. i have positioned myself well in 2019 and asked that i be given stock options in addition to any normal cash bonuses i get if they want me to stick around long-term. hopefully i make it happen this year, if not the next.

Like I mean, my job's fine. It's not stressful or miserable, but it could be better. It's not something I want to do, but I don't hate it. I like parts of it, but I really don't like parts of it. I get paid pretty well and have pretty good benefits and don't feel like I'm treated like shit and am completely disposable.

It's been said that, at least as far as the 80s/90s went, that books like Vampirella and Red Sonja did appeal to women and such because they were the only consistent source of strong female protagonists in comics. It makes sense, considering that writers like Gail Simone would go on to give them more decent runs.

Both of the Mark Waid Ka-Zar complete collecitons are on sale for $4.24 a piece in that Agents of Wakanda sale. Its really good!

I hate my job, but its the only one ive found that lets me work as little as possible while im in school. Plus Im pretty much left alone most of the time and can take breaks whenever for however long as I want.

Oh my god. I'm sorry. I cannot imagine. I sincerely hope that life treats you so much better from now on. The fact that you're trying your best is admirable, and I'm sure you'll find steady work as things improve! I don't wanna say anything cliche, but really, that you're putting in effort is a lot more than I could imagine for myself. Be proud of that strength.

Batman Universe has already saved comics. But if Agents of Wakanda goes to the Savage Land comics can be doubly saved
Right now, Secret Warriors or a Secret Warriors esque comic doesn't exist

Agents of Wakanda is that comic, therefore it can save comics.

Well I guess Batman and the Outsiders is kinda that almost but not really
