There was one song that was in the top 10 we did at the halfway mark that didn't crack the Top 20. Was surprising
You're most definitely wrong, although Butterfly was good, stylistically and musically wise, Heart Attack, One and Only, Egoist and Hi High were all bops.
I'm guessing Sunmi or Superhuman. A lot of good stuff came out in the 2nd half.

The video is a nice concept; I'm interested to see what the actual choreo for this will look like if it has any. I like dark BTS so if this is the vibe the rest of the album will have I'm super excited.
The Spotify sounds different than this. It's a very interesting video, and I like the sounds from both songs released so far. Should be good.

I agree. Plus as we all know, Red Velvet is overrated as all hell.

Critically acclaimed song Psycho reaching #2 with minimal campaigning. Not everybody has that to their credit...
That's a damn good list, 2019 truly has been a great yeat for Kpop! A bit sad to see no love for Flower Shower, Dramatic & Jopping (which all made my top 10) anywhere in this top 20, but so many songs out of my top made it otherwise! So happy for Limesoda even if they're just peeking at 20 (they truly deserve way more than that), cause I thought they'd be too nugu to even rank.

I honestly also suspect that Psycho getting 3rd is largely due to recency bias. I put it at 16th on mine, because while it is the first good RV song in a long while, it also is just good enough, but not more compared to all the other gems we got this year. I suspect this song wouldn't have ranked this high in 6 months (just like many songs from mid-year ranking didn't necessarily make it to the final one).

Yes, %% (talent) won! What a twist, it was #3 in the top 10 songs for the first half of 2019, but now it has climbed all the way to #1! I can't wait for more Apink in 2020!
Hoping IZ*ONE comes back as well, I'm sure Fiesta would've been top 5 for me last year if it was released.
(G)I-DLE was in danger, as both Senorita and Uh Oh are kinda weak compared to Latata and Hann, but Lion, with that slick MV, managed to bring them back!
2019 was the year I discovered Dreamcatcher, hope they continue to release great songs and b-sides in 2020!
Best song of this summer managed to get #11, I wish all success to Weki Meki and that Choi Yoojung manages to take care of her mental health properly.
Sunmi's 2019 output wasn't as good as 2018, but maybe in 2020 she'll go back to bops like Gashina and Siren.
CLC's No, my #1 was #15 in this list, the disrespect, far too much. Still, great job for a group that was lacking hits in the past.
Hinapia released one song and made it to the list, I can't wait for more songs in 2020. They might become my ultimate bias soon.

As much as I love Drip, it's a song that's 95% there. You can tell there's something missing and that 5% hold it from being a verified, bonefide bop. Still, great song though and the girls are very talented.
I mean, after Zimzalabim and Umpah Umpah, Psycho sounds like a masterpiece. Maybe it rose because we haven't gotten a good song from them since Bad Boy.

I was rather surprised (and happy) to see Icy make the Top 5. Sometimes felt like I was the only one bopping to it.

Apink had the most number 1 with 6 followed closely by Butterfly with 5 (psycho had only 1 number 1 pick, but 5 number 2 rankings)

Say My Name is everything Bonbon Chocolat & Adios tried to be but failed to achieve.
The chorus is a bit on the weaker side, but still good enough for me to jam to. But those rapping parts got me bopping, loving the change of beat during those.
I never like BBC because of the sheer over-abuse of autotune. I know it's a "vocal stylistic choice", but it's one that I think is bad and I don't like it at all to the point it makes the song grating to listen to. Say My Name is already a thousand times better than it because it doesn't sound like it abused autotune, you can actually enjoy the girls' powerful voices there.
