Could RE2make or another Resident Evil Title be getting revealed soon? (Possible Tease)

If it isn't designed to play like REmake or RE0 or a mixture of both, Capcom is dead to me. It better have fixed camera angles. I know AngriestPat is somewhere in the world sending me his energy in agreement.
He's busy playing RE7 dlc and loving it. We've turned him. Give it up Duke. You've lost.

RE2make will be OTS, DMCV will be cinematic action like God of War 4, SF6 will be another SF2 wank fest like SF4, and the Dino Crisis revival will be FPS open world survival with crafting.

I've acknowledged that the series changed to be more commercially viable multiple times. That changes nothing in my argument and opinion.

Also I think it is also unfair to completely look at lifetime sales, look at sales for the first year. Also do those numbers for 4,5,6 include remasters and re-releases?

I don't think you honestly like the classic games considering how hard you seem to be defending the crap that is action RE.

Again, sales POST RE4,5,6 have shown a trend with the HD ports of RE0 and REmake, and RE7 towards survival horror with a very vocal minority hating it. Sounds awfully familiar in the history of this particular franchise.
A) all of those are lifetime sales. RE 1 has two rereleases on that list and Code Veronica has two entries as well.

B) Stop with the purity test.

C) There is no trend. All the Remasters of Action RE did over a million as well and RE 5/6 continue shifting units each quarter with RE 6 selling 300,000 last quarter alone. There is an argument to be made that Classic RE can make a comeback based off the HD sales, but you are framing this as a failure of Action RE sales wise which simply isn’t there.

If I show him this thread, I am sure he will notice the bullshit and come and spread his beautiful opinion like last time.

I AM THE BULWARK OF THE OLD WAYS. I shall never stop lol.

Wow, purity test. Got anymore tired arguments? Because the trends I've pointed out directly correlate with what I'm saying.

I am an enthusiast of the classic styled RE, and hope that is the style they go with. However, despite that, RE4 rocked my goddamned world when it came out, and I STILL consider it one of the best games ever.

That said, to me, none of the action REs have even approached the brilliance of RE4.

RE5 was a good fun follow-up but didn't do much interesting aside from the coop.

RE6 is a trashfire (but an entertaining one nonetheless) with mechanics and scenarios that have no business being in an RE (but would like them more if they were in an original game that was...designed to better use them)

Haven't played Rev1 but heard it was mostly bland with a couple of neat parts

Rev2, which I am currently playing and immensely enjoying, still doesn't give me the feelings RE4 gave me back in the day. Even then, even if they never go back to my precious tank controls I hope they use Rev2 as a basis for going forward with Action RE. Not overdone like RE6, but feels acceptably scaled back and subdued to still feel tense and not go in your face with cool moves n shit.

But after all this time, for over a decade and a half of still-enjoyable games, I really wanted a good take on the games that made the series a classic staple.

The good sales and popularity of the HD REmasters showed that there is still a desire for these games, and was the catalyst for the RE2 remake being greenlit (or at least I'm pretty sure), so it does make sense that it would take from the gameplay of the remaster as a direct response.

Then RE7. Oh my, RE7. A slower paced game based on the classic REs, while not 1-1 or perfect, still shows they have it in them to design a classic style RE, even after all this time.

With Resident Evil, I now hunger for two things. One, for a continuation of the classic style of game, why I fell in love with the series as a child, and I mostly got with RE7, and hopefully with RE2make. Two, a follow-up to RE4 that gives me the feelings that it gave whist also transcending it, which none of the games after were able to do. Even Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within 1 and 2 have not been able to, while enjoyable havecsome glaring issues that don't allow them to share a pace with RE4 at the top. Maybe I'm just closed minded, but I'm becoming not sure ANY game will top RE4, so I almost can't fault any game.

Monster Hunter 5 will be a Destiny-clone filled with lootboxes and microtransaction.

I hope the game plays like RE4/RE5. The game will sell a lot more if it takes that perspective and abandons the tank controls and fixed camera angles.
Lmao.
Its not just about the money you know...
If people really want a RE4 controls, why don't ask a RE4 remake instead of RE2 remake?

This shit would be so boring with OTS aiming.
So you've never been a fan of RE1/2/3 after all..

The RE community can be annoying sometimes...

Ideally I wish they would just split it off into several styles like you were thinking. :p

you have Remake titles, you have new titles based on classic RE gameplay stuff like RE0 or Outbreak vol.1 and 2(Outbreak 3 please and Outbreak HD), and of course you have RE7 style titles. These all fit the mold of classic survival horror.

Revelations is action RE for the action RE fans.

Everyone gets what they want.

RE8 being FPS but improving on 7's flaws
RE2make being like REmake
REv3 (or whatever subtitle they give it) as a big budget co-op action horror shooter
Mercenaries HD with references from across the series

Is the obvious move for long term success, maximum goodwill and minimum fatigue, but alas the world has yet to recognize my genius.

This as well. Think of the locations and rooms of RE2. Think of most of the combat scenarios you're in. Small rooms with slow enemies. What would a tps camera do to assist with this, besides see everything when you immediately enter a room? The cinematic camera worked in tandem with the gameplay, not hindered it.

If they went with a tps camera. They'd have to massively overhaul the scario and map to make it something even approaching fun.

Yep I'd be ok if everyone got what they want out of this series. But well, I think me and action RE peeps got their fill for too long ;p

RE2make with a ots camera has to be fully redesigned from the ground up. It'll be a totally different game altogether, like FF7R.

Monster Hunter 5 will be a Destiny-clone filled with lootboxes and microtransaction.
Sounds more like Lost Planet 4 material.

The setting of RE2 is far better than the one in RE4. I'd like to see Raccoon City with modern graphics and gameplay sensibilities. Aside from the Village, I dislike the setting of RE4. I just want to be able to pick my shots and manage my ammo and not have to fight enemies that i can't see on-screen.

On a separate note, it is somewhat about the money. If these remakes keep performing well and bringing in profit, we'll see more of them and hopefully other games that have been brushed to the wayside by Capcom.

You make it sound like OTS isn't a style that's been adopted by numerous RE titles.

In gameplay aspect. You have played FFXIII? Lightning moving, enter in battle, jumping foward obstacles...
I mean, this is what make REmake so strong. Little about the mechanics changed.
Most people who speculate this liked the RE7 or REvelations.
Uh, VII Remake plays literally nothing like XIII.

XIII is a turn-based RPG. VII Remake is an action RPG.

Er, what? We haven't seen anything from REmake 2 yet so I'm not sure what you mean by "more of."

And considering how long it has been since it was announced, it is likely quite far along.

Are you thinking of something else?
Well Any of then

When it was announced they hadn’t even begun development. That was a little over two years ago. I would be shocked if it was anywhere close to completion

That right there is called a remaster.

1st person would make it a remake. Like how changing the combat from turn based to action in FFVII makes it a remake
REmake HD is a remaster.

Vanilla REmake and what you're describing are remakes. Crash 3logy and SotC PS4 are remakes as well.

No. Remake you make little changes in the game, most part in graphics. Put a old RE2 in 1st person its not a proper remake. Drastically change the mechanics of the game already decharacterizes remake.
Its just like remake a Pokemon Red and put in 1st person.
You are confusing the term "Remake". A Pokemon Red in First Person would still be a remake. You are talking about a remaster, apparently, which is a different thing.

What trends? Action RE has always sold well and continues to do so. The Resident Evil brand name is strong and will pretty much sell anything. What other trend are you talking about?

"I don't think you honestly like the classic games considering how hard you seem to be defending the crap that is action RE."

If not a purity test, what would you call this?

RE 4 = at least 8 million sold, 96/100 on Metacritic
RE 5 = 10.5 to 11.5 million sold, 86/100 on Metacritic
RE 6 = 8.2 to 9.5 million sold, 74/100 on Metacritic

Only RE 6 can be said to be panned, but besides that, they all sell amazingly and are highly praised. In fact, RE 5 and 6 combined sold more than RE 0, 1, 2, 3, CV combined until the HD remasters came out. In fact, the entire reason Resident Evil went action was because, in Shinji Mikami's own words, REmake was a commercial failure (http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09...me-out-of-the-commercial-failure-of-re-remake).

I love Classic RE, but a lot of people don't like tank controls or the design of it.
Shinji Mikami should have known that Resident evil remake was released exclusively for the Nintendo gamecube, and they decided to port RE4 to the PS2
I'm sure if they ported remake to the PS2 it could have been a huge hit.

RE4 has tank controls, I don't get it why people complain about the first trilogy for having tank control, when they enjoyed RE4's tank control :/

The more I think about it, the more I feel they're going to stick with tank controls and fixed camera angles, because RE2's level design and enemy encounters were designed to compliment those mechanics. It wouldn't work effectively otherwise.

There's also just nothing as brilliant as REmake was overall. I loved Evil Within, Revelations 2, RE7, and Alien Isolation in the last few years. but we really need a REmake 2 that does what it's supposed to do.

Edit: I'm only concerned about their willingness to stay true to the original formula and their ability to deliver a faithful recreation. REmake was made more than 15 years ago, it was way before action RE got big. A lot has changed since then, and that includes the divisive opinion of the fan base and the departure of Shinji Mikami.

There's no way they let the 20th anniversary of RE2 come and go while saying nothing about REmake 2, so... REmake 2 reveal on the 21st. Book it.

People have this strange double standard when it comes to the tank controls label and RE4. It's like they dismissed tank controls long before RE4 came around, which they then wound up loving, so it therefore does not -- CANNOT -- in fact have tank controls.

I still remember that thread from the old forum where people acted a fool by helpfully correcting the OP, factually stating that RE4 clearly doesn't have tank controls. Most of them did end up leaving with their tails between their legs though, so there is some hope yet.

You misunderstand, I want the tank controls to be removed from this remake while also having the OTS perspective of RE4 and RE5. I'm not stating that RE4 doesn't have tank controls.

Hate to rain on the parade here, but this is a normal practice for Twitter banners. The avatar clips in and a lot of people and companies just leave the entire left side of the banner blank instead of having the avatar cover something or them design around it.

More info here: https://blog.snappa.com/twitter-header-size/
I’m gonna say it. This is terrible graphic design.
