Isn't it time we combine our forces to take down Canada a peg?
They asked the spiders and snakes, they said they have great QoL inside human houses.
I have been to Sweden dozens of times and the quality of life is extremely high, especially when it comes to their attitudes to outdoor activities. However, there is a certain amount of fragility to the Swedish system as evidenced by the rise in some unsavoury political groups there. Quality of life is higher, but it seems like people that actually live there feel like it is getting worse (in my experience it isn't).
They're not that bad. I've lived in Australia my whole life and I've only died 8 times.

What? Where does this come from? Food is cheaper in the US than just about anywhere else in the developed world. Gasoline is about 1/3rd what it costs elsewhere. Consumer goods are significantly cheaper as well. Even mortgage payments are tax deductible for heaven's sake! It's significantly cheaper to live just about anywhere in the US than it is in Canada. Or Sweden, or France, or Britain... when's the last time you spent $4 on a can of Coke?
It's funny seeing these list since Sweden is always held as an example of a fucked up dystopian hell hole by the right wing.

What do you consider rich? I'm having a grand old time and I live in the GTA; i'm definitely not rich.
I would still rank Canada as #1 personally. I feel the least threatened navigating spaces, and generally deal with passive aggressive racism with some rare exceptions.
I think some of this is due to legislative protections like The Charter of Rights and Freedoms. There's some comfort knowing the KKK or Westboro Baptist Church can't apply for legal permits to march or gain access to public spaces due to "free speech".
Also Canadians love to be comparatively better than Americans... Especially when it comes to social issues. This is as a second generation Canadian who's parents are from the Caribbean.
Our indigenous people are treated like shit, so I wonder if that's factored in at all for quality of life.
Get ready for Canada to freefall in the statistics considering what Doug Ford and the 'Progressive' Conservatives have started to do to our public services. Specifically the gutting around our public Education system and the war on teachers they started back up again. And that's just one province (albet with 38% of the population) not counting the vast amount of other Conservatives that just got elected this year and last year.
It'll be hard to stay number one when e have all these forces trying to pull us back on service of the rich. Sweden may very well take our title from us and hold it until we recover.

Sure, but personal freedom isn't one of them. And as bad as minorities are treated in Italy at least they aren't in concentration camps like they are in China. Due to the opaqueness of the Chinese state I suspect that this only takes Han populations in urban areas into consideration.

This is untrue. It's not easy but there are plenty of low to middle income people that live downtown Toronto. And considering the services and resources available, QoL is pretty amazing. I would argue it better than NYC.

That's because this list is based on a survey of people's perceptions. So if you keep on being told these are the best countries, you'll regurgitate that when asked for your opinion.

Not sure if you're just trolling at this point, but for a gay person Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and The Netherlands would be a lot more exciting than the three cities you mentioned anyway.
I visited Amsterdam and you get bored quick. It's a really small city compared to Paris
