Really digging it on xbox so far, had some really close races with my partner already and it looks gorgeous!
I've been spending way too much on games this year, but this is one I have to pick up around launch and recognize a job well done remaking a fantastic game.

I want to play one/some of the other characters, but all the time I spent playing as Cortex on the Papu Pyramid demo disc makes me want to just play as the retro Cortex skin for old times sake.

My finding as well. The boosting is crucial, otherwise you'll get left in the dust.
Review embargo is 9PM PST.

I don't understand how you could possibly say it's for the best. Unless this game works very differently to Mario Kart. Rubbing up against and battling with other karts is part of the fun isn't it?

Acti has been on this kick of doing launch-timed embargos lately. Spyro, both NST releases, and Sekiro definitely had the same embargo; so it's not likely to be indicative of any problems, they all reviewed well out of that group. :)

He wasn't made for CTR, nor cut from it. Bob Rafei designed it for a friend's company's mascot and accidentally uploaded it with CTR stuff on his website and didn't notice until someone pointed it out. He still never took it down, but gave this quote:

Ouch... I wanted my full set of platinum trophies for the Crash games but CTR seems absolutely brutal.
Yeah as I expected, it's all pretty doable except for the Oxide time trials which are killer. Doubt they're going to patch them to make them easier lol, so hopefully some exploits are found I suppose.

Man Crash and Spyro are back. This is the best generation of consoles ever.
Seems pretty good so far. Switch version actually looks solid docked on a 4k display all things considered. Load times are long though.
Also Sewer Speedway feels off to me in the tunnels. Doesn't feel like you get carried around the tight corners like you used to if you're taking a high line on the inside and get dead stopped a lot more. Collision on the barrel feels different too.
