Absolute ridiculous review. I wish players wouldn't do it. That was plumb and the fact it hit his back leg meant he was in deep trouble.

Yep NZ wanted to do to Eng what they did to India, but it looks like Eng are doing to them what they did to Aus

Cricket World Cup finals are always really one sided. Madness to have batted first, based on the idea that England are terrible chasers, when they're not. It'd have been more interesting to see if their hit ball mantra would have stood up to the pressure of setting a score in a home final, especially in swingy conditions (as much as it swings in white ball cricket)

Not really madness when 2/3 of teams chasing this world cup have lost. It was a fair call given such outcomes thus far.

Almost this entire WC has been: win the toss - go bat first. No need to take unwanted risk where England most likely would've killed them with the scoreboard pressure.

Yes and that player should be honest and tell the one on strike the deal.

The reality is the vast majority of decisions umpires make are correct. Unless it hits you high the chances are LBW being called means you likely out.

Yeah unless you know you got some bat on it, there's no way as a batsman you'd know for sure where the ball was bouncing. It all happens in like half a second.

And today wasn't win the toss go bat first, the ball is doing plenty. It's not as if England aren't killing them already. NZ's batting has been weak all tournament.

The games are individual events. Australia thought that batting first on a decent deck with a bit of overheads was less risky option, didn't work out that way and today is far more challenging in terms of conditions. The way England play asking them to set a score in a home final in relatively challenging conditions was more of a pressure point than chasing the low score NZ were always going to set.

I don't see the NZ team as good chasers at all. They're a team that can set a low total, but still back it up with their bowling attack.

This is already looking like another day of Bairstow, Roy and Root chasing the runs down by themselves

New Zealand will win this comfortably. England not made enough of early conditions. Any score over 250 is comfortable for NZ here.
Nobody has won chasing at Lords.

Rashid back to bowling dross, was hoping his injury had cleared up going on the last match but not looking good so far.

It was a bad decision from Dharmaseena, yes there was no deviation but there rarely is with finer nicks. The entire England team heard it, he should have. Saying that the Barmy Army have quietened down now they've realised their singing may have made it harder for him to hear it.

So nobody has won by chasing at Lord's this WC, but the lowest target score was something like 245. Feels like NZ will need a lot more than that to keep England at bay

For all its reputation of being the home of cricket and the embodiment of Englishness... Lord's hasn't been that good a ground for us. I won't be relaxed... well, until the end.
