"After the last one... maybe ball tracking is broken today?"Absolute ridiculous review. I wish players wouldn't do it. That was plumb and the fact it hit his back leg meant he was in deep trouble.
Both those reviews were poor really, you would have never thought the first one was going over
The batsman at the other end might have had the best view of it.
Not really madness when 2/3 of teams chasing this world cup have lost. It was a fair call given such outcomes thus far.Cricket World Cup finals are always really one sided. Madness to have batted first, based on the idea that England are terrible chasers, when they're not. It'd have been more interesting to see if their hit ball mantra would have stood up to the pressure of setting a score in a home final, especially in swingy conditions (as much as it swings in white ball cricket)

Almost this entire WC has been: win the toss - go bat first. No need to take unwanted risk where England most likely would've killed them with the scoreboard pressure.Cricket World Cup finals are always really one sided. Yes and that player should be honest and tell the one on strike the deal.
The reality is the vast majority of decisions umpires make are correct. Unless it hits you high the chances are LBW being called means you likely out.

I don't see the NZ team as good chasers at all. They're a team that can set a low total, but still back it up with their bowling attack. And today wasn't win the toss go bat first, the ball is doing plenty. It's not as if England aren't killing them already. NZ's batting has been weak all tournament.
The games are individual events. Australia thought that batting first on a decent deck with a bit of overheads was less risky option, didn't work out that way and today is far more challenging in terms of conditions. The way England play asking them to set a score in a home final in relatively challenging conditions was more of a pressure point than chasing the low score NZ were always going to set.
He's playing the role Dhoni should have played, but not in the right context.I know he needs to see himself in but 3 of 23 is kinda dire from Williamson.

To be fair, 'til UltraEdge came in, I thought he'd missed it too. Couldn't see any deviation in the replay.
For all its reputation of being the home of cricket and the embodiment of Englishness... Lord's hasn't been that good a ground for us. I won't be relaxed... well, until the end.So nobody has won by chasing at Lord's this WC, but the lowest target score was something like 245. Feels like NZ will need a lot more than that to keep England at bay
