Yeah maybe Disney said no after they've showed it to them. Being on the disc doesn't mean they will sell it to you eventually.
Yup considering that we know lucas takes forever on approvals bazed on the ragtag story this could of been stuff hey were making just to stay on scheudle and had to put the kibosh on it when they were told no.
100% total non story.
Man, I'd forgotten about all the helmet-less stormtroopers in the last one. Is that still a thing? Only played the campaign in 2. Talk about shitting on canon. Good lord that was stupid.
One: EA Said no only to extreme customization like pink or white Vader. They actually said that they're working with Lucas to introduce some canon-friendly customization. No surprise Sterling doesn't mention it, as it doesn't fit his narrative.
Bringing the extreme example of pink Vader and then saying that more limited customization is possible is very different from just saying "people wouldn't want pink Vader," period.
It's saying "we can't do too much, but we can probably do something" instead of saying "we can't do customization, and I'll throw in a strawman to prove it."
The presence of visual customization in the files just mean that the team was working on it at some point, and is entirely compatible with the possibility that Disney or Lucasfilm ultimately decided to drop the axe on it.
Of course, blaming EA is much easier, and lucrative.
