The gameplay demo was awesome and I can’t wait to watch again in 4k. The graphics in this game really are as advanced as described.

However, I can’t help but feel like journalists exaggerated a couple things. For example, the animations aren’t jaw dropping the way many made it sound. Also, the gameplay looks fantastic but still not as revolutionary as was described by many. It looks like a standard evolution for the genre. Time will tell how detailed the interactions will be and it still has a lot more time to develop but if they saw what we just saw I’m surprised at how bold some of their claims were.

Just an fyi for those folks disappointed that gamersyde won't be getting 4k. There is no actual 4k version of this video. The YT version is upscaled from 1080p so they can take advantage of the higher YT bitrate for 4k.

Hey guys, hear me out, this revelation may be mind blowing.....both RDR2 and Cyberpunk are incredibly ambitious open world huge budget open world titles. JFC.

How are people actually arguing for one game being better over the other? How are people not happy and appreciating that both of these gorgeous titles actually exist?

RDR2 looks much better graphically and animations wise but those gifs aren't good comparisons to CP77.
I still think RDR2 is more impressive overall though.

so because its not as dense as an urban enviroment, it's not as ambitious?
I don't think people are saying that it's not ambitious. There are truckloads of different kinds of "impressive" things in videogames. RDR can do a "better than real life" impressive with fewer NPCs and density, whereas Cyberpunk 2077 can do a "holy shit look at all those people and things moving and it still looks great" kind of impressive.

It's obvious that you and some people prefer the former, whereas some people prefer density over image quality.

People are replying to you because you're acting like only the "RDR"-way is impressive, and downplaying how impressive what CP2077 is doing, because you care more about this than that. You get it, right?

lol @ posting a couple gifs of a game coming out in 3 months that has 0 npc density in an empty area to a game that has so much NPC density to include verticality that comes out in god knows when.

I'm sad at the current state in gaming, everyone's jaded, no ones impressed. And then on Twitch, you have the fortnite and pubg kiddies calling the game "boring" because it has dialogue. Must have never heard of the term RPG.

Whatever, its the vocal minority and the YouTube stats and the sales numbers and hopefully positive reviews will outshine the negative nancy's

Never played a CDPR game before. This looks to be my first. Looks incredible.

And I love how you can have a third person perspective for driving. Hate FP driving.

yeah i'll let Rockstar know they arn't making an ambitious game because they don't have a big city in their game, according to you guys

No offense but you sound really oversensitive about 2077 potentially outshining RDR2 in the tech dept, which is silly to begin with considering how much of a WIP the former is and how different it could potentially look once it comes out in 1-2 years. Shouldn't you be happy that something like 2077 exists and is pushing boundaries in terms of world density and detail? Who cares if the open world western doesn't have as much going on under the hood, they'll both be great games.

To me this basically looks like an urban-themed Elder Scrolls game.

Graphics-wise it definitely looks like something the current-gen consoles could pull off, what's really crazy is the density of NPCs combined with the supposed scale of the city combined with, hopefully, the seamlessness between outdoors and complex building interiors. It's like if they maintained the density of Yaluza 6's Kamurocho across what looks like the scale of Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 or something. The free driving is what really sells it for me.

Keeping in mind though: this is probably still at least like 18 months away.

Like the surrounding narrative of gender as a biological absolute when literally everything else is malleable. I get it: dev time. But the social media account and the "we're going to be playing a female today" said in this demo just crystallises a disappointing lack of willingness to engage with it.

I'm down for some real dirty protags with moral dilemmas though, that's cool.
All of the game's random enemies were also male. The game's pretty conservative in its gender roles, the only exception being the player character if you pick the female option. Don't expect anything more.

So there was no hairworks in this demo? I wonder if CDPR is looking to include it in Cyberpunk.

your right, i just have been having a bad day, in terms of personal stuff. I didn't mean to bring it up in this thread, but it creeped up sadly

I did overreact guys, I apologize...i won't bring up RDR 2 anymore in this thread, they are both different games, with different goals

All good. I was gonna jump in an offer some thoughts myself but felt you'd been given enough replies. It happens to all of us, hope the day gets better.

Why all this RDR2 shitting?
And I am not even a RDR fan.
Why has one game always to "detroy" ALL the other games?
It's such an bullshit attitude.
Cyberpunk isn't the only ambitious game out there, lol. Get real.

You are all also comparing nealy final Red Dead gameplay, a game which releases in less than 3 months, to Cyberpunk 2077, a game that is still 2 years away.

Anyone in development will tell you final polish doesnt come until REALLY late in dev cycle

That city was super impressive with the amount of different NPC doing different stuff and the combat looks really fun.

The way that Maelstrom gangs leader was missing part of his face looked super disturbing and cool at the same time.

ehh, I went from enthused to not even on my radar anymore.

I am a mechanic man, and most of the mechanics in this beta/alpha looked non existent.

I'll watch to see if anything gets added, but right now its a hard pass from me
