I believe it's a Marvelous IP that Nintendo published outside of Japan, like Octopath Traveler.

For the record, this game was published by Marvelous in Japan; it's their IP, Nintendo just published it here and I imagine offered something to maintain console exclusivity.

As with Octopath, unless something is entirely a Nintendo published/funded game, there will always be the possibility of it getting ported.
