A lot of stuff going on with her... the adult film career, the (sketchy, imo) 47-year-old (Wikipedia says he's 50) fiance, and now she's been arrested. Hope she's okay.

Steven Spielberg's Daughter Mikaela Arrested for Domestic Violence - E! Online

Steven Spielberg's Daughter Mikaela Spielberg, a 23-year-old aspiring adult entertainer, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence in Nashville on Feb. 29, 2020.

Steven Spielberg's daughter Mikaela Spielberg has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence.

The 23-year-old aspiring adult entertainer was booked into jail on Saturday morning. She was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence/assault with bodily injury and placed on a 12-hour hold, records show. Bail was set at $1,000. Her next hearing is set for March 9.

Details about the incident were not disclosed. Mikaela lives in Nashville with her 47-year-old fiancé, Chuck Pankow. He told Fox News the incident was "a misunderstanding," adding, "No one is hurt."

Mikaela had made headlines last week over a rare interview she gave to The Sun, in which talked about her aspirations to become an adult entertainer. She said she has started self-producing solo porn videos and has applied for a sex worker license. She also said she would not be willing to have sex with another person on camera out of respect for her fiancé.

"So I have 50% of the people going, 'Let me see your boobs!' and then 50% of the people going, 'How dare you ruin this last name for us?'" Mikaela told The Sun.

She told the newspaper she has a good relationship with her family.

"I have amazing parents that had their struggles with me, I've had my fights and struggles with them, but it's only out of fear that people sometimes care incorrectly because they want you to be alive and safe," she said. "They are some of the least spiteful people I know. I love them so deeply."

Did dad cut her out of the money? Or ignore her so much she needed to take this route to get his attention while finding a father figure surrogate?

I guess we all have free will, but why would you go into the seedy adult entertainment biz coming from a mega-rich family? It makes no sense. People don't get into that business due to having plenty of options.

I read about this a couple of days a ago. And, with all the other things happening, I'm coming into this thread to say I really couldn't care less

If she's the one perpetrating the domestic violence why are you saying you hope she's ok?

Out of spite? For real, she's the daughter of Steven fucking Spielberg. If quick fame is all she wants, there's a thousand better ways. Even if she has zero talent she'd still get a push.

Just look at Jaden Smith.

From what I read, she's more doing solo stuff from the comfort of her own home. If that's what she wants to do, then who why do you care?

I don't care. It's just you really see rich kids get into the adult film industry. I get not being classist or judgmental, but there's a reason why this is a story. It's odd. Especially when you see the downward spiral. It's not just she's filming herself, it's the surrounding elements as well.

Steven Spielberg is your father and you date a 47+ year old darts player and go into porn.

I mean, I understand that money doesn't solve emotional issues. But damn, yo. Those are some seriously questionable choices.

Yeah I was going to say this. Seems like she just wanted to make her own money, which is respectable. And nothing is wrong with sex work. It's a perfectly fine career path and not as easy as some people believe. It still takes some level of talent to make it as a pornstar.

There was the daughter of some Goldman Sachs-level financial exec who did a few porn scenes too, and it really seemed aimed as a "fuck you" to her dad.

It's certainly not about the money at that point, but something else.

While this is basically one of the worst ways to deal with it, I imagine it can be tough growing up in the shadow of a super-famous parent. Maybe it's being the adopted kid in the family. Who knows.

There is a LOT more detail in the interview she gave eariler in the week, but I'm not about to link to The Sun for any reason. You can find that on your own, if you wish. Here's a quote that sums it up, though:

"My main hope is just that I get somewhere lucrative enough to where I'm not tied down financially by things. And then I can really start saying to people there's nothing wrong with me using my body in a way that feels comfortable to support myself.

"I can't stay dependent on my parents or even the state for that matter - not that there's anything wrong with that - it just doesn't feel comfortable for me.

"This isn't like an 'end of the road' or 'I've hit bottom' choice.

"This is a positive, empowering choice, I realized there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual."

Imagine having all the resources in the world and only aspiring to be an adult entertainer. Sorry, but what the fuck is you thinking?

*knocks on wood* goes to show you shit can get real for anyone, imagine having to deal with this as a parent? JFC.

She's only 23 years old but feels that becoming a porn star is the only way to be financially independent? Yeah there is definitely more to this story...

Good on her, to be honest. Not everyone in adult entertainment is emotionally troubled. That's such an old fashioned stigma.

The parents don't see upset or disappointed though about her career choice, by their own admission.

It's just she's apparently been through a lot; borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, alcohol abuse. So her finding something she wants to do such as solo sex work along with dancing, she feels good about it.

Just want clarification about the domestic violence.

What I want to know is how did she end up with the middle name, George?

I think the domestic violence and 50 y/o fiance is more concerning than her trying to get into the adult entertainment industry as a solo model, though I'm sure her career choice and other life choices may have some overlap.

That's... a fair point. Being in sex work doesn't have to mean you're emotionally troubled or financially desperate.

Of course we're talking about someone who just got booked for domestic violence, so...

Nah, I'll need some receipts on that. The stigma that comes with porn is pretty weighty. Getting out of adult entertainment and doing other public facing professions is incredibly difficult, because of said stigma.

Well the borderline part pretty much explains that. It's in the wrong neighbourhood of personality disorder town. It tends to be characterized by a nasty combination of extreme sensitivity to perceived slights, difficulty with emotional regulation and a tendency to blow up at people, and an inability to self-monitor one's own thoughts and actions. Meaning they tend to constantly do shitty things to the people in their lives and be completely unable to process that it's their fault.

Basically, she's likely screwed unless she gets herself into a way better environment than the one she's in, because external structure and tons of hard work to learn to see into herself are typically the only chances for someone with BPD.
