Dave Bautista says he'll quit 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' if James Gunn's script isn’t used

What a fucking shitshow. If they ditch the script might as well just not make the movie with Bautista hightailing it as well.
That’s Richard Christy in that photo with Gunn. That’s hilarious that that’s the photo they picked. Gunn is a good guy and gave Richard a small cameo in the movie because he’s a big Howard Stern fan. He even has a Flat Ronnie in his office.

This really soured me on Avengers 4 and just Marvel and the MCU in general.

What a bummer.

With or without Gunns script I’m not going to the theatre to watch this if Gunn is out. And Vol 2 is my top 3 in the MCU. Sucks.

Also, fun fact, Richard Christy played drums on Death's The Sound of Perseverence, one of my all time favorite records

So you just believe any random rumor from a no name who gives a shit blog you read on the internet.
I am very pessimistic about this movie after everything that has happened. If this turns out to be bogus and they use Gunn's script, that's fine. But they never should have fired Gunn in the first place.

It’s always hard for me to accept the fact that that Richard and the Richard on the show are he same person.

I wonder what the chances are that they just ditch the movie all together.

It’s like how Walmart will close an entire store if they even smell the signs of unionization among the employees. Better for them to just write the whole thing off then allow a hint of dissension.

Since you keep up with wrestling, the person who is most like Pratt in terms of upbringing and faith is Daniel Bryan (you know, who has a very close friend who is very Republican named Glenn Jacobs). Pratt's open about his faith, which is pretty much about it.

The only thing that Pratt has said about Trump is him dunking on Trump for firing Comey

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entr...-recreation-tweet_us_59133af5e4b050bdca618ecd

Other than that; at worst he's a conservative who is socially liberal by US standards and spoke out to keep Gunn (moreso than anyone else not named Bautista)

The thing that sparked the whole "Pratt is Republican" thing is what he said at the MTV awards, which was this
I know about Daniel Bryan. And none of what you've presented explains Chris' association with Candace Owens and the like. When Trump doesn't rebuke David Duke outright people called him a white supremacist. Pratt may not be a white supremacist but he's a fan of conservative nutcases like Candace and the Duck Dynasty folks. I'm also not sure what makes you claim he's socially liberal, since he's done his best to hide his political beliefs since that ill advised tweet.

Also, the thing that sparked the "Chris Pratt is Republican" debacle wasn't the MTV awards stuff. It was the "blue collar America not represented in Hollywood" stuff. That's not a very liberal stance to take.

Some experienced talent reps estimate that due to the unique situation, Gunn could receive a payout of $7 million to $10 million, if not potentially higher. And, more importantly, he would be free to take on another project immediately. Also affecting the negotiations is that sources say Disney plans on using Gunn's script for the third movie. Disney, Marvel and reps for Gunn declined to comment.
And there may be an unexpected twist to the story. Two sources say there is a hope through the talks that Gunn could return in some fashion, even if it’s to develop and direct another Marvel movie. “An end-all verdict hasn’t been issued and conversations with Marvel are still ongoing,” says one source familiar with the proceedings.

That leaves Gunn and his potential suitors waiting to see the outcome of the talks. “Most people feel his comments were coming out of his brand of comedy [at the time he made them],” says another studio exec. “Having an inappropriate sense of humor shouldn’t be a crime.”"

Remember when this whole thing broke and I told everyone they likely would scrap his whole script and people called me crazy? Yeah...

They already fired him, which means they either found cause in his contract, such as a morality clause, to have grounds to do it or they fired him without cause and have to give him a payday. Why then give him another pay day by using his script? At that point you might as well have not even fired him.

I didn't realize there were negotiations going on in relation to his exit. I thought they just flat out got rid of him.

Direct another Marvel movie? I don’t get it. Why get rid of him for Guardians, but still allow him to direct another film.

Edit: It could make sense if the movie is r rated

He also associates with Bernie Sanders, Pey and Keele, McGowan and Farrow, Ellen Degeneres, and posts about shutting down gerrymandering as the only political thing in recent memory - and also openly said he was an idiot about saying "blue collar America is not represented in Hollywood".

Also, crazy thought - someone in Hollywood also might be better about separating the art created / their personal relationships with coworkers from strictly the politics of the people who create the art. There are a lot of people who follow the twitter feeds of actors / actresses / entertainment folks and just ignore the political tweets that come from them. A follow is not an endorsement of everything the person says - that's complete bullshit to associate the two.

PS: That "blue collar America" is immediately associated to "not liberal" probably explains a lot about this entire digression.

PPS: I get that some people want to dunk on Pratt because he doesn't follow in lockstep with them so that means he must be 100% aligned with the others, and that people are looking for justification to hate on people who pray. Think I'm done with the argument - folks are seeing and extrapolating what they want to already believe.

So you're happier with unsubstantiated rumor that THR just because it fits your narrative?
What? I'm not happy with anything, I'm using logic and the realities of business and filmmaking to make an educated guess as towards the ultimate fate of Gunn and his script. It's all unsubstantiated rumors right now.

“I’ve been advised that we can’t bring anything to him until the Disney matter is 100 percent resolved,” says another studio executive. Major players said to be interested in Gunn’s services run the gamut between studios, including Warner Bros., which has its rival superhero movies via DC Entertainment, and high-profile and Oscar-winning producers.
James Gunn's GREEN LANTERN CORPS coming July 2021.

One has studio exec comments the other has a random guy making a random rumor for clicks.

Another expected twist would be Bautista gets promoted because they respect his loyalty. Like something you see at the season finale of a cop show or drama.

It's not, but when that person isn't a celebrity and their claim to fame is literally just their political acts then the question becomes why are they being followed. Or if they are a celebrity and their political leanings are so offensive why continue following them?

PS: Blue collar america isn't only white people, by the way.
And the alt-right aren't exclusively white (See: Owens). Neither are "normal" Republicans in general. Or Christians for that matter. I never said that that statement was racist, or a tongue in cheek attempt at saying "White people aren't represented enough in Hollywood". Just that it wasn't a typically liberal thing to say. And it wasn't.

This would be amazing.
I kinda just want a hard reboot now with only the good parts of the the current DCU.

Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman.

Gunn Green Lantern Corp.

Matt Reeves Batman.

Lord and Miller Flash.

Sandberg's Shazam.

Matthew Vaugn Superman.

Maybe have a sequel for a few of these and then have Whedon or another director make Justice League.

Later on bring in Lobo/New Gods/Justice League Dark (zatanna!)/Supergirl/Batgirl/Captain Atom/Hawk Girl/Martian Manhunter

What kind of sense would it make to not let him direct GOTG3 and then bring him on for a different Marvel movie, as that "source" suggests. If Disney is open to letting him direct a different Marvel movie, it's far more important that he finishes his trilogy.
