Are you playing on hard??? If yes, then that's the reason. Why can't I tag enemies with the binoculars? Prompt never comes up and spamming R2 does nothing

Yeah, that makes sense. Is there any skill that marks enemies on hard?
I don't think so, but you have that skill that highlights the enemies.Yeah, that makes sense. Is there any skill that marks enemies on hard?
Cool, thanks.I don't think so, but you have that skill that highlights the enemies.
For people who completed the game. Should they stay in the same city/area, expand or move to a different part of the country?
They wrote him really well some of the scenes were sad enough to get to me especially the few he had to make certain choices that you could see the character struggled with.Reviews really had me going into this trying to hate Deacon as a character, but man a lot of them got it wrong especially as the plot moves along. Finally got to the credits, still a ton of hordes to wipe even though I'm OP now lol. Game is not perfect, but it's damn fun and the characters are varied and great in their own way. Hopefully they get a shot at a sequel, and can flesh out the side missions/jobs more. There's a lot of variety they can get away with in this Sandbox.
Definitely agree, Bend did an excellent job. This to me is one of the best design open world maps, everything just feels scale just right and you can go in every building which is rare and getting around on the bike is a blast.
I have to disagree, I think it's well written. Not sure what the vocal minority with complaints about the writing are basing it on.I'm absolutely not doing that. If you think playing a game for 25 hours and it not being good means I should continue on, then you're mad. There's no way the quality of that writing suddenly gets better. It's so fucking cringeworthy. It's not about me not seeing the themes of the writers or not giving enough time to see Deacon's arc, its just plain bad.
I'd hope they'd stay in the same region. They're based out of Bend and we don't get enough PNW games. We get tons of games about places like California, New York, Japan, etc. They did such an amazing job on the environment likely in large part due to their local familiarity with it. There's tons of wonderful environments to work with up here too.
Plus it sounds like California would just be *completely* gone lol.
As an aside, I kinda wish there was a vendor for materials or crafted items. I'm at the point I want to just knock out hordes, but I don't wanna go farm for crafting materials.
Definitely! There are plenty of locations left to explore. They could pop over into the Willamette Valley and show the devastation on the I-5 corridor. They could go up the Columbia Gorge, which is crazy beautiful, and get us a glimpse at a fallen Portland. They can also expand east to Idaho and show the Snake river canyon. Lots of cool direction to go.

I like how long it takes especially if its at night. Its meant to be a risk /reward situation. With a near-fully upgraded bike .. I have a really big gripe that *can* be easily fixed.
The bigger your fuel tank is .. the more time it takes to fill it up. It makes 'realistic' sense, but come on .. it sucks standing there filling fuel for a minute+ if you're on an empty tank. Just increase the fuel filling speed Bend, it would go a good way in streamlining the game.
Yeah, keep the game in Oregon.
Honestly though, I want Days Gone 2 to be a prequel.
Highly doubt there's much runway left if you start from the end of Days Gone. Am also good on Deacon.
I want to play as Rikki or Iron Mike!
Act 1: life before the outbreak
Act 2: Outbreak, adapting to the new status quo
Act 3: Lost Lake camp is established, Iron Mike, Deacon, Boozer, Addy and others enter the mix
Act 4: A huge battle between camps, Lost Lake wins, End
I really don't think the things they tease in the secret ending would make for an exiting gameplay experience.
Same here. It makes little sense that mechanics don't sell crafting items (unless you need plants).
In the story they talk alot about people going on supply runs. For some reason, they are able to find grenades and assault rifles, but don't pick up anything else lol
I also noticed that when it comes to crafting Molotovs, Pipe bombs etc. it's ALWAYS kerosene and gunpowder I am short on.
Thank god I maxed out focus and ranged combat, so I rarely have to use explosives to take down hordes.
I don't know if you or anyone else has been or are familiar, but the Oregon coast has some amazing places that would be perfect if they expanded to other parts of the state in the sequel.
Oh god, decon would die so many times on the roads around the coast, it seems like most of them have two hundred foot cliffs next to them lol. Don't know how they are up north but the roads of the southern coast always scare the shit out of me lol.I don't know if you or anyone else has been or are familiar, but the Oregon coast has some amazing places that would be perfect if they expanded to other parts of the state in the sequel.
The first 8-10 hours are rough. I thought I was in for a long 30-40 hours as I tried to mainline it, but once you hit the third camp the game starts to find it's footing.
Sooo hordes are usually easier to tackle out in the open but I found one hibernating in some houses just now and thought of this post you made yesterday. For the hell of it, I did my best to hole up in the house across the street and hold my position for as long as I could manage.Regarding the chance to tackle hordes now: what I wanted to have is stuff like where you can barricade yourself in a house, shoot some of them through the planks until they get through and then you have to escape to the roof and so on. I didn't see yet anything that would remotely allow stuff like this. Thus my reference to Resi 4 mercenaries mode.

Enjoying my time with it, very much recommended. What is the general consensus on this game after 3 weeks from people that have played it? I cancelled my order due to reviews but is this one that people tend to like better than reviews? Is it worth waiting for a patch?
Yeah that was fun as hell! It helped that the freakers all beelined straight for the one tiny window and jammed it up.Holy shit, I would never have banked on this strategy but that was amazing. Very effective.
It could definitely use some patches to iron out a few major performance issues so there's no harm in holding out but I'm glad to have ignored the reviews on this one. I've enjoyed playing and chatting about it these past few weeks more than any game in recent memory. What is the general consensus on this game after 3 weeks from people that have played it? I have a lot of time for games press but I think fundamentally, games are longer and longer nowadays and in order to provide a proper review you need to complete the game - which means FORCING yourself through, in this case, 50+ hours of content, and usually in a short span of time (not in this case though)This is why you don't 100% trust critic reviews.
They may basically "dislike" something.. but more often then not those games that are average turn out to be one of my favourite of the console.
You should. It's great ;)
One of the best open world games I played, sadly very underrated. What is the general consensus on this game after 3 weeks from people that have played it? I cancelled my order due to reviews but is this one that people tend to like better than reviews? Is it worth waiting for a patch?
