I would say it was part of it. But wasn't there reports or rumors stating he didn't want to do it because he doesn't want to do green screen acting or is uneasy about doing it? However, I think if he was going to sign up for multiple films, it would be something like the Joker. Grounded and shot on location.

With this type of deal, they likely took a selection of stuff to him and also asked what he was interested in from their catalog of IP.

I know that guy is a fanboy but he makes some really good points. Also John Wick 3 is at 90% on RT, rated highly by some of the same critics who think that Joker goes too far even though JW3 is way more violent and senseless "Imma murder all these people cause they killed my dog and stole my car". Both movies are based around fictional characters so it shouldn't matter if one of them seems more realistic. Not saying that JW3 doesn't deserve the high RT score, I haven't seen it.

If Apple really are trying to prioritize "prestige, adult-orientated entertainment" I could see them carving out a niche in the whole "streaming war", and people love their Jennifer Aniston/Steve Carell/Reese Witherspoon, so Morning Show could be a surprise hit
Me personally, I'll only be subbing to Disney+/Hulu and maybe HBO Max (parents pay for Netflix and Prime Video), I doubt they'll have IP that interest me, I'm sure they'll have some cute little shows here and there, but nothing that'll make me pay 4.99 a month
