It's cool to have a new thread here. Really hoping I can get early screening tickets for BoP this Wednesday.

Nobody I know cares to see it. So, I don't know if I'll make the trip to the theater solo because I'm not really sold on it either. Interested in the reviews.

I'm getting a bad feeling the reviews are not going to match up with those early impressions. I don't see them as low as SS or BvS, but somewhere in the 40's is now seeming more and more likely.

My IMAX screening tomorrow has 30 booked seats out of 330, so 10% full.
But the "booking in advance" habit is not that strong in France.

Bomba incoming and they know it, that's why Reeves stopped teasing and didn't show the Batman costume... they don't want to be associated to the whole debacle !

Roughly 1/6th of my screening is sold right now (25/141) and that number goes down 1 if I end up going to the free screening the day before. I also checked every other HQ screening at the theater opening night for a fuller picture. Of a possible 546 seats available 81 have been filled.

When does the review embargo lift? Movie comes out in two days, doesn't it?

Are we back to doom and gloom? I guess it's the standard anytime a DC movie is close to releasing.

Also, I must be the only one here who doesn't pre order tickets. I always get it them at the theater.

Not so much doom and gloom as tempering expectations. BoP should still do ok unless the reviews come out and ether it. Things just aren't good for it to be a huge break out hit at the box office.

I'll just expect Charlie's Angles numbers judging by your guys anecdotes lol. That should keep my expectations in check.

I think it will have a weak start but do Shazam numbers based on word of mouth.

Honestly I think they went in too hard on Harley marketing.

I think BoP will do good internationally. Ads are everywhere, and definitely seems to have buzz in Portugal at least.

How can Shazam even begin to think he can stop Black Adam??? Oh, I know... he'll need help from his new Super friend.

Anecdotally I don't know anyone who is interested in the movie, and the trailers have never really clicked with me. The early impressions did give me some confidence though

If it does Shazam numbers... then that'd be okay. But I still think it can pull close to double. Internationally, of course.

I love The Huntress already. Nice clip.

Deadline with a prediction and a budget number.
In expanding to the deeper parts of its DC universe, Warner Bros. is launching Suicide Squad spinoff Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn this weekend, repping the comic book label's continued march into R-rated fare post Joker and Watchmen, with a projected worldwide start between $110M-$125M; a take which is just under DC's $158.6M WW opening of Shazam last April.

We're told at this point in time that Birds of Prey's global start should be fine for ultimately profiting off its gross $97.1M production cost (net $84.5M after $12.6M California tax credits)

50-55 mil US for the weekend... Guess that's about what everyone expected. The high number I saw was up to 70, but I don't think it hits 55.
