Was surprised not to find an OT or thread opened for what looks like a substantial content drop. Getting the details from NintendoLife's article:
The update brings:
● 10 new enemy types, many of which can be found in the higher difficulty modes of the game
● Three new skills have been included in the game which consist of a flying pet and a single use scroll that will reveal the current level map (ooOOOooOOoooOooo)
● 10 new weapons including the Giant Killer, the Boi Axe and the Thunder Shield
● The old Hunter Grenade door in the Prisoners' Quarters has been replaced by a new Specialist shop where you can buy the Hunter's Grenade, skins or a lovely new Map
● For the most advanced players, Rise of the Giant holds a new hidden level. An entirely new ending to your story will be revealed to those who can beat the ---- out of the new boss waiting for you at the end…
I'm looking forward to jumping back in. Dead Cells is a game I constantly go back to every few weeks/months just for the heck of it

I just beat Okami and am about to start Dead Cells for the first time so this is perfect timing.

How's the performance on Switch after the big performance patch? I've heard mixed things about it.

Game is so freaking hard. Like I finally got into the Enter the Gungeon gameplay loop and kicked it's ass but this game is significantly harder for me.

Great game but the nightmare difficulty is just too much to bear. I hope you don't need the 5th difficulty level to get to the new boss.

This game should be right up my alley but I just cannot get in to it. Playing Hades lately with how the different weapons unlock felt so much more enjoyable than how Dead Cells does it, feels like after a few hours of that I'm still using the same couple of weapons. I'll have to go back to it at some point, I know I'll love the game once I get far enough in.

This post is very helpful to me because Dead Cells is exactly "the game that should be perfect for me but doesn't quite click" (I'm a huge fan of action roguelites, so much so that I'm making one) and I was thinking if I'd have the same problem with Hades. So this is at least a data point to the contrary.

I'd like to try this out but roguelikes are such a turn-off. I'll bite when a sale tempts me enough.

Yeah, I've been loving Hades. It does the story stuff that the other Supergiant games have but the gameplay is so fun. I've played it a ton already but I'm trying to hold off until more is added.

This is cool, I guess, but I'm never gonna see the bonus level or boss. The game's too hard but I'm enjoying the parts I can access

I hope too much of the content isn't locked behind the higher difficulties...I'm still stuck on beating the final boss the first time lol

Content being locked behind the higher difficulties is the exact opposite of what I want from this game.

Yeah, it having content coming and it probably being an ideal Switch game is what's stopping me from buying it. But this is one that I'm definitely getting down the line.

I beat the final boss of the original game and the door to the DLC opened up but I find myself immediately unable to get past the first thing
pit of lava
. Is there something I'm missing or is it just a very precise jump?

Got to 3BC when it came out and I'm not excited to get back into it. I used to cheese those turrets. It's not really free if you have to get to 5bc.

I'm glad some people can do no hit runs but this game is unforgiving. And I think they nerfed the skills, didn't they?

Dead Cells devs should get outside that reddit bubble where apparently everyone easily aces 3 and 4 BC runs.

Vast majority of players won't ever see the new stuff, which is a shame.

It's a problem. I started a run and i feel like i regressed. Maybe I'll watch some people on YouTube.

I saw one where the guy picked up every cursed chest. Crazy.

But a few games I was looking forward to, Ass Creed remastered, dark siders, re4, look like I should wait so I have some time on my hands.

Didn't they already add a game customizer with a previous update?

I seem to remember something that let's you tweak the game to make it easier.

I watched the new ending on youtube since I'll never beat 2+ BC.
Actually the game being this difficult made me have a slight buyer remorse.

Seriously. Or at least allow us to revert to older versions, even if it blocks people out of daily challenges or whatever.

I think the most fun I had with this game was on EA before it was even launched, and early on in the Switch release (even with the framerate issues).
