This thread got weird the last few pages. Like, ok, neat, someone greatly inferred that they might not like something. That's driven almost three full pages of replies that are already trending towards the sides of, "I knew it'd suck and this is my validation!" and, "Well they wouldn't like it anyway."
Not outright, mind you, but it's there. We apparently can't even save that for review threads anymore.

I'm looking forward to giving it a go. I wouldn't say excited is the right word for how I feel, but intrigued for sure. My tastes are fluid, and sometimes I'll come back to a game that originally didn't click with me and it magically will just due to what I'm looking for at ge time. For instance, I bounced hard off of The Witcher 3 twice before really getting into it. Same with RDR2.

Can't wait to see what score this cute walking simulator will get.

But I have a feeling that Remake 2 will remain unbothered as the most acclaimed game of 2019.

Did this for botw. But usually you can tell if there's something there special or not 1-2 hours in.

That would have put it above the original Res 2 at least...camera made it horrible to walk around in that game. I know they have switched controls and camera in the new games, but god were they terrible in the original releases.

Pretty sure thats a joke related to mgs5... Its too obvious.
It's pretty standard from Sony to not allow certain points of the story onwards to be shown or talked about. God of War's was around the halfway point nothing was allowed to be shown. Even if a joke Sony likely have no showing allowed areas that will be part of the NDA.

Remember the fist "review" dropped of God of War by someone with a early copy,I think the guy was from Russia and was before the embargo in his blog,he gave 7.5 and people was so sure God of War was not GOTY material after this lol.

Ya sometimes man. Its crazy what people will read and then just run off with.
Also the discussion about time in games is absolutely infuriating these days

I know we're talking on a forum about a game but I genuinely couldn't imagine trying to interact with folks over a lot of gaming traits these days. There's way too much hyperbole and live or die stakes.

Yeah, hence my earlier post about the negative/positive review thread cycles. It's nuts.

I always doubt Kojima's games getting high praise even though I'll love them and they always outperform my worst fears.

Even Ground Zeroes, which is mid 70's, i'd rate far higher and played more than some full length games.

But I get the feeling this just won't crack 90 and that's okay.

Ending the embargo early would be a mistake. Way too many people would spoil the game for themselves. Threads would be filled with gifs

I don't think so.

It was mentioned reviewers can't talk about anything past Chapter 3...don't know how many chapters the game is total but thats a sign that there won't be obvious heavy spoiler footage/talk

Also, its already coming early since its a week before release. lol

November 2nd - Death Stranding's metacritic score settles at 72.

November 3rd - The Game Awards announces a new 'Best Fetch Quest Walking Simulator' category, nominees to be announced at a later date.

I see this game getting every reaction across the board. Some people will hate it, some people will love it. Some people will pretend to love it to look smart and some will exaggerate their hatred for it because they think Kojima deserves dunking on.

it's going to get a meta critic score in the mid 70s and people who haven't played it will say that that is a good score and other people who haven't played it will say that's a bad score

What I'm saying is, this will be ultimate forum game

regardless of what happens, people will use whatever to confirm their already made up feelings.

If its good reviews, then some will go "see told you so" and others will go "look at these shills".
If its bad reviews, then it will be "they are looking for attention or don't get it" and others with go "see Kojima is a hack fraud; hurr durrr words and deeds amirite"

Its going to be a game in which unless the story grips you and you enjoy simply traversing worlds...then you probably won't like it...and thats fine.

going to be a shitshow lol

Eh if you think about it, if you were set on making a weird new type of game then it would not appeal to everyone. Its kinda like The Witness is definitely not for everyone but also not everyone was giving The Witness a shot like with DS.
