Eh why are you overreacting to PS4 numbers? There were no deals for it, while the Xbox One had quite a few deals. With what you shared, it looks like the Xbox One had much more selling power over the PS4 last holiday.

I mean you even said PS4 sales could be as low as 700k IIRC, so I dont understand the shock

Why are you so defensive? Benji is an expert. If he says ps4 sales are really bad, they're really bad.

Because it's still terrible?

I expected it to be terrible, and that's what happened. I'm not shocked at all, more just it's crazy to see

Switch: 1.77M
XB1: 920K
PS4: 797K

this is because Cyber Monday was in November. I'm sure that week accounts for at least 230K sales.

Heh, so the Switch numbers aren't as high expected. Still, not exactly bad numbers, are they?

It's the lowest number for PS4 in December ever

So yeah, really bad
Any thoughts on why? I'd have figured the numbers would still be pretty good as the PS4 has just been a beast overall, even if they wouldn't be as good as last year

here it goes.. btw please we don't need some cinematic experience to appreciate these numbers, it''d be wise for them to remain where they are.

Switch: 1
XBO: 0.52
PS4: 0.45
Other: 0.76
3DS: 0.19

YoY:
Switch: +18%
XBO: -32%
PS4:-24%
Other: +52%
3DS: -56%
The ratio with the Switch dominating is probably for one sided than expected. It is just the Switch didn't perform as high as people expected. I suspected this may be because the other systems did even worse than expected.

I think it's safe to say the price is limiting Switch potential right now. I expect a 250$ price ir lower for next Holidays in order to boost those sales.

I think we'll see how Switch performed other regions in 01/31. I'm really looking forward for the Nintendo report.

Defensive of what? lol. These numbers look pretty expected. Both Xbox and PS4 were going to drop YoY that month. The PS4 had no deals and held up better than expected, I have no idea how Xbox managed to drop by nearly a third of its sales with its promotions so that might be the only weird thing about the report.

Because it's still terrible?

The thing is there were no deals for the PS4, just PSVR. And the MSRP of the PS4 hasnt changed in years so there was going to be a decline in a month like December its sixth holiday. The Xbox One´s performance should be a much bigger shocker

[X ] Switch sells at or above 2 million in December, XB1 at 1 million
[✓] Switch > XB1 > PS4

So final tally for me

Switch - overestimated by 11.5%
Xbox One - overestimated by 8%
PS4 - Spot on the money (said 700k-800k likely)

That's damn good. I'm happy with that

Being a beast is nothing to the bullet of age and consumerism.
Well, the generation is ending. It stands to reason.

Switch is technically next-gen, after all. We're in Gen 9 and all these Gen 8 consoles keep selling!
Ahh...so even the PS4 is slowing down then, huh? Honestly pretty impressive it took this long

Lol There is that. It'll be interesting to see what'll happen with the PS5/XB2

Still enough to set a record and propel it yearly number 1, apparently.
So pretty good then. Not sure why we'd have a meltdown over that :P

The Xbox one and PS4 only have 1 Christmas left so it's not surprising that they sold badly this year. This gen is nearly over for these two great consoles.

Switch is basically tied with PS4 (2015) for the best nov+dec in the gen. Both sold more than 3.1m

It's a very solid holiday for Nintendo.
