Well these are dollar sales. Spider-Man had plenty of holiday deals not to mention it was part of that $199 PS4 holiday bundle in November. Of course still smashing success from Smash.
Happy to see Red Dead Redemption 2 pass Black Ops 4 as the best selling game in the US.

Seems they did sell more than RDR2, RDR2 was higher in total revenue.
Spider-Man also had 4 full months on the market and with tracked digital sales.
Yes. This was at least true for retail. So i assume it's similar for digital, too.
Also no PC sales for CoD in the rankings. So when Activision publishes there next quarterly report, they will most definitely brag about having the #1 selling game of the year again.
Numbers for Dec were leaked earlier in this thread and COD was ahead of RDR2

I mean in US that is possible. Globally? nah. All numbers we have from European markets show RDRII outselling BO4 to pretty large degree so I am not sure does Activision want to change their bragging from best selling console game globally to best selling console game in US as that sounds worse.
Do you remember who? Trying to find 2018 full year unit sales, but can't find it.
it was Csheep, it was just for December so its not 100% that COD was #1 in unit sells but they were ahead of RDR2 for Oct and RDR2 was ahead in Nov in NPD so could be very close.
well yeah. None of the biggest 2018 third party games in the US are on Switch, outside of Fortnite, which isn't tracked in the same way as traditional software.
Outside of 1st party games, there weren't many big releases for Switch. There were some excellent indie games, but nothing that would crack the Top-10 I'd think. And the AAA games were largely older ports.

And there is a high chance the Digital % is higher than usual due to the pre-order bonus.

removing a sales expert's tag is not such an easy task. it demands a 2/3 majority on the next resetera shareholder conference, as a loss of an official, prominent and highly attractive expert has direct influence on era's media coverage, advertising prices and stock market value.

Well, at first I was wondering how the 2017 yearly figures I had for the PS4 were way short, then it seems clear that the numbers I catalogued for November must be way off. All the numbers I catalogued from Jan.-Oct. 2017 weren't too far off the mark combined (the numbers I recorded were short of your above figure by 1.1% for the period). The PS4 sold 1050k in Dec. 2017, so that means November results had to have been ~1.66M. Would that be about correct? If so, that would account for nearly all the discrepancy in the 2017 YTD figure I had.

I was doing all of that by memory, thought I didn't correct for the new December number.
