Steam :: Deep Rock Galactic :: SEASON 02 AND BEYOND

2021 is coming to an end and we promised you an updated roadmap, so let’s get started! Yuletide, new weapons, new seasons, release calendar, board games, oh my.

In January 2022, we will finally launch Deep Rock Galactic for PlayStation - both PS4 & PS5! This will be the latest version of the game, including all the Season 01 features and the Performance Pass. So make sure to poke your friends and tell them there are no more excuses for not hitting the mines! Be aware, the console launch will not include cross-play between Playstation and Steam. We are still looking into solutions on how to implement this, but at this point we won't make any promises - we are only a small team, after all.

For those who don't know this wonderful game, check out Skill Up's video on it - it's worth a watch. There's been plenty of updates since but as I've followed them on Twitter but this gives a very good impression of the game.

I've seriously been waiting so long for this and I will be there in January

If there is one thing I do not like about playing video games in the modern era, it's this:

Be aware, the console launch will not include cross-play between Playstation and Steam.

Would love to play this game with some buddies on PS5, but I already own the game on pc and don't much feel like buying it again.

Terrific game. Play it for Karl, you heathens who haven't yet played it, irrespective of platform.

Nice! Will definitely give it a try.
Any hope for 60fps on ps4 pro?
I don't know about any official word - but It's not a hyper demanding game, so fingers crossed.

It's come up as the topic of a healthy handful of threads in the past couple of years. There's a smallish fanbase here.

I watched a few videos of this but not sure what type of game it is.
Is it fun solo? Is it like minecraft? But it also looks like doom in the videos? Is it open ended or mission structured

One of my favourite games of recent years. Been playing regularly with a group of friends, and it's been wonderful.

The new update was really solid too.

ROCK AND STONE!

EDIT:

It's probably closest in structure to a game like Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood, World War Z, etc. There's a hub area used for kitting out your character and selecting missions, in which you head out and complete short missions with different objectives.

It's definitely mission structured and not open ended, although the mission path isn't linear. You pull random generating missions and assignments from a map, and head into different biomes. Missions range from hunting down certain creatures, collecting specific resources, setting up machinery to harvest resources, escorting mining vehicles, etc.

Assuming it's a good port this one is absolutely essential for those who haven't played it.

A co-op gem.

Oh in that case it's really not for me. I don't play those types of multiplayer games or multiplayer games in general really unless it's a mmorpg like ff14 or ESO

Most definitely needs cross play even Steam and Win 10 store (game pass) users are seperated. One of the all time great coop games.

I wonder why it took them so long, their game is UE4 based so I would've figured porting it would be very much worth the investment for them. Great news!

I got this on PC recently and it's great, but definitely has a steep learning curve. It's systems driven in a way your Left 4 Dead likes aren't. If you don't use all of your tools across the various classes in your party, you're going to be lost and frustrated. Conversely, mastering the digging and scouting mechanics is satisfying and helps break up the monotony of shooting bugs (which still feels really good).

This is probably my favorite game of all time. If you haven't, please consider checking it out!

Super happy and excited for Ghost Ship!

Looks cool, but without cross-play it's kinda dead to me for the time being. None of my friends play on PlayStation.

Hope they figure that out.

It might just be resource allocation, they are reportedly a small studio so whilst absolutely yes I agree it is very much worth their investment, if they don't have the sufficient resources to handle that port alongside all their content updates and managing their existing platforms, it might be pushed back but either case - glad it's finally coming!

Will this have console (ps to Xbox) cross play?
Does the Xbox version have cross play with pc?
