|February OT| Bloomberg's Bloomin' Racism™
It can't be worse than Iowa, right?

Put it all on Bernie

Warren looks for Mr. Jackpots
Alright, it's gotta be the bolded. We'll figure out something Bloomberg related close to Super Tuesday.
|OT| ... And Tulsi Gabbard is still here.
Fuck, but that's good too. If she survives NV!

I don't understand the Bloomberg thing. Billionaire who bought his way into politics? Really? And hes a Democrat? Is he a sleeper agent who is here to deter young voters and progressives from even wanting to vote if he becomes the nominee?

He's using the same logic that all the democrats are using: that the electorate will probably vote for anyone who isn't Trump. He's just taken that idea to the absolute extreme. Bloomberg is like the 2nd horseman of the capitalist apocalypse.

I wonder if him being open about it will weaken it as an attack. If he doesn't treat it like something to be ashamed of, the people shaming him could come off looking pretty foolish.
Everyone: You're a socialist.
Sanders: Yeah, good. Ok.

They've golfed together while Trump was in office.

If I hate someone I at least cancel by pretending I am
sick.

You can dislike a person and also know you should capitulate to them for the benefit of your wallet.

It's the same reason no one on Earth believes Bloomberg wouldn't flip on a nominee like Bernie. He'll protect his own interests no matter the cost.

This posted here? Michael Bloomberg explaining that the financial crisis was the fault of poor people of color and redlining was actually the best thing. I'm not American so have no say in your elections but having just seen this I felt the need to share it.

Cos this guy is a racist asshole.

lol, Bernie on CNN called James Carville a hack when baited by Cooper, and then CNN immediately changed the chyron to "Sanders: Carville is a hack".

No lies detected, but it's so exhausting how shallow these networks are. He just got done explaining his platform and dispelling Republican talking points against it and all they care about are slap fights.

Well, I'm a little late, but we're finally out of New Hampshire!

Congrats to the 1,222 people who correctly predicted Bernie Sanders would win the NH Primary! 🎉 I would congratulate you on your foresight but uh honestly this was the easy one. Out are Yang and Patrick (who?) and the field looks to winnow more as Biden and Warren (😭)'s disastrous showing in NH puts them both on precarious ground. Pete got a strong second, and Klobuchar surged to the top, presumably on the weight of Swingline aficionados pro-life Democrats...? Okay, man, she's just so bad now.

Now, on to Nevada, for the second caucus of the year. Hope y'all are bracing yourselves.

VIVA CLARK COUNTY! The Nevada caucuses take place on February 22, and represent basically the first opportunity for nonwhite people to weigh in. Nevada doesn't have the same kind of weight that Iowa and NH does, sadly. At one point, Nevada had regular primaries, but switched over to caucuses in 2008 in an effort to boost electoral relevance - caucuses require far more on-the-ground organizing time and effort than primaries. They also moved up to be before Super Tuesday, which has to help.

This year, the party is attempting something of a hybrid system. There's an early voting period from February 15-February 18, with the caucuses themselves taking place the following Saturday the 22nd. The votes from the early voting will be sent to the related caucus precinct and totaled with the in-person votes. The doors open at 10AM PT and caucuses are called to order at noon, so make sure to get there on time if you're going in person.

Nevada's actual delegate allocation system is a mess that I won't get into, but if you want more details (including voter registration, precinct and early voting locations, training, volunteer opportunities, and more) check out this tasteful and finely crafted link. See, NH? Other states did it. It's not just Iowa.

Wow, I was super optimistic about Iowa when I wrote that. Also, fun fact, Nevada almost had digital Caucuses this year in an effort to democratize the process, can you even imagine. They're still using a digital counting tool, though...

And as an aside, if you're looking for good polling from there, don't bother. Most firms don't even try.

New preference poll going up in just a moment. It'll be closed in a week's time and replaced by the Nevada Prediction Poll.

I mean, it's not a totally unfair comparison. Remains to be seen how much of the vote Bernie coalesces as the field continues to whittle down.

although if you're going to put it that way you have to put warren in with Bernie

It's not Sanders/Warren vs. moderates. It's Sanders vs. moderates. It's pitting literally one candidate against a broad tent, which makes it obvious how fucking inane the whole comparison is.

So what's the argument for Pete? He hasn't even officially won Iowa yet considering today the IDP confirmed they'll be reviewing the precincts that Bernie & Pete asked to be looked at. He's consistently at 9-12% in every recent national poll & the highest he's ever polled with black voters is 4%. Not to mention is polling at single-digits in Nevada & SC.
So Bernie could still technically win Iowa? And with that DP Chairman going, maybe the next caucus won't be such a clusterfuck.

I don't think this is wrong? According to polling data on second choices

Buttigieg - 11% to sanders, 26% to warren, 63% to moderates
Biden - 19% to sanders, 13% to warren, 32% to moderates
Warren - 33% to sanders, rest to moderates

Even if we generously give all of Warren votes to sanders (which as we see from Warren voter second choice is nowhere near the case) the overall moderate vote is still way bigger than Bernie's. We all know that if the moderate vote wasn't being split up the way it is now, Bernie would not have a path to winning these primaries. So once the field has narrowed down...
