It's a really good move! The Bernie diehards see Bernie never waver, and Bernie would never lie to us. Meanwhile, Bernie's most prominent surrogate goes and says to everyone else, guys, we're not crazy, we know how reality works, we're not getting what we're asking for and actually the fallback option is really good too and certainly not something we'd ever spend weeks knifing an opposing candidate over for so much as sniffing at. Also, please don't ask any questions already answered by the "not speaking on behalf of the campaign right now" sticker I've put on top of my campaign shirt.
