It bothers people that support Bloomberg that Bloomberg is doing what he's doing. No one is at all at ease with his past or who he is now.

But Trump is a national emergency. This isn't Mittens or Jeb! just slamming tax cuts, building a pipeline and shitting on the environment, and funneling money from poor kids to wealthy white parents through some religious freedom bullshit. This is the fabric of our democracy violently disintegrating under an idiot autocrat and his party hellbent on dismantling majority rule in the country just so they can stay in power without evolving at all.

Bloomberg can beat Trump. I don't think Bernie can. What do I do if I can't vote for Amy or Pete? I fill in that circle for Mike. I pledge my sacred duty as a citizen to a monster, and learn to live with it.

Please don't dismiss the incredible, overwhelming, oppressive amount of fear and anxiety that a lot of rank and file Democrats have right now. Good people will do terrible things when afraid, and this is one of them.

Why do you think Bernie can't beat trump, despite plenty of evidence to the contrary?

Yes, I'm one of the most strongly anti-Bernie people on here and I would cut off my testicles before voting for Bloomberg in the primary.

BUT in the general, I would vote a Shoe if it had a D next to its name against Trump. To do otherwise is effectively voting to re-elect this criminal president, which is unacceptable.

I seriously doubt Bloomberg can beat Trump. I also seriously doubt Bloomberg as a reasonable chance of winning the nom.

real talk, if bloomberg wins the nomination the chances of losing votes to a left wing spoiler or people staying home because they don't like either candidate shoots up drastically so I wouldn't be so sure that he's a safer bet in the general than bernie. bloomberg's favorables are in the toilet last I saw, and for good reason.

Bloomberg will lead to a bust from Bernie supporters, in which case he'll lose to Trump. This doesn't mean Bernie can win, but it definitely means Bloomberg will lose. If you oppose Bernie, vote for Biden or Buttigieg, those are the only two moderate options that can stop Bloomberg.

Bloomberg is a national emergency as well.

Because he's an open self-described socialist.

It's the EC map plus relying on unreliable voters. Bernie feels like the best path to running up the score in places where the vote doesn't matter only to lose it harder in places where it does. Eventually even that reaches a tipping point where it's impossible to lose but Bernie REALLY will push that limit.

I really don't see how the hell Bloomberg can possibly win against Trump in the general. He is practically Trump's twin brother in a blue tie. Republican turnout is going to be huge. Democrats will not turn out in competitive numbers to vote for Trump-lite.

The moderates will turn out for Republican-lite, all they care about is beating Trump even if it costs them their soul. The more principled Dems will have a decision to make. For me, it will be easy. If Bloomberg's the nominee, I send in a letter of resignation to the local Dem party and change my voter affiliation, and vote Green in November (I'll vote for most Dems downballot)

If Bloomberg is the nominee, then all the fearmongering about Bernie or Busters will be 10 times more true. I can't imagine a scenario where Bernie supporters will go out and actively vote for Bloomberg. Bloomberg is the living, breathing symbol of everything Bernie supporters despise and are fighting against. And this isn't even taking into account how pissed off PoC will be after months of Bloomberg's racism being exposed 24/7 by the massive GOP media machine. Doesn't matter if it's the pot calling the kettle black from them. They will exploit it to great effect, and Bloomberg and the Democrats will have no good answer against it.

Trump would love running against Bloomberg because he would so easily deflect all the criticism of his bigotry or misogyny right back at Bloomberg who has such a long documented history of prejudice against pretty much every group. It'd be a battle of two racist, sexist, transphobic rich white men with authoritarian tendencies.

Bloomberg would not win, how could anyone believe this? He's the embodiment of The Enemy to the left wing of the party. His very presence would depress the Democratic turnout, his myriad scandals that are just like Trump's means he can't even run on the moral high ground, and Trump will just call him Mini Mike and people will eat it up.

He's a uniquely awful, awful candidate.

Yeah, I think Bloomberg has less a chance of winning than other candidates, I sure as hell wouldn't pick him in a primary.
Latinos here fucking love Bernie. They're gonna carry the state for him.
Yes! When's our early voting, the 18th?

Bernie will win the nomination. Bernie will win the general election. Bernie will be President.

WE will transform this country, and set a positive example to the rest of the globe.

Attack Bloomberg 24/7. Hit him on all the incredibly terrible and shitty things he's done. I hope the first debate Bloomberg is in is the political equivalent of Geogia Tech vs. Cumberland.

That Tweet wasn't an attack on Bloomberg, but rather an attack on a personal political aesthetic that person doesn't like, whom they've now assumed support Bloomberg...for reasons.
No, it's attacking people who are telling black folk to vote D no matter what even if it means voting for a racist sexist authoritarian like Bloomberg

We cannot win the general election without flipping the rust belt states, Bloomberg's anti gun stance would cost him those states. If he were to get the nomination it would mean Trump gets 4 more years.

Bloomberg once blamed end of 'redlining' for 2008 collapse

WASHINGTON (AP) — At the height of the 2008 economic collapse, then-New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the elimination of a discriminatory housing practice known as “redlining” was responsible for instigating the meltdown.

What's up with New York Billionaires running for president being just as racist as Trump

It's New York. There's history in regard to how richer people treated minorities, immigrants, and even women and children. Theres a reason why people say that Rich in New york is just as bad as some less educated person, but the latter has some slight excuses for their ignorance, the billionaire doesn't.

Also I heard Trump is slurring Italians now.

Shit like this makes me wonder how could those people from Congressional Black Caucus put their support behind Bloomberg. Your average person may be because of ignorance, but them??? Don't they care about shit like this????

Silver lining of Bloomberg running and not getting the nomination; it would give you a pretty good list of all the people who need to be primaried and run out of the Democratic Party.

Cash means more than principles. Which is why us leftist progressives have been against money in politics and its corrupting influence forever. Because this is the logical result. Two parties completely dominated by it.

Also Bloomberg: "I know for a fact that any self-respecting woman who walks past a construction site and doesn't get a whistle will turn around and walk past again and again until she does get one."

He is literally the same as Trump.

I think those lawmakers see the Bloomberg cash waterfall potentially streaming down on their communities and ultimately helping, but that's no excuse for endorsing a racist monster.

Bloomberg vs Trump is the real life version of Kang vs Kodos. Rather than trying to shame people into voting for the former, efforts would be better spent getting out the vote down ticket. Or making sure that it doesn't happen in the first place.

Looks like Emily's List responded to the leak:

Just fascinating considering Bernie's record on this & how just yesterday he said this:

"I think being pro-choice is an absolutely essential part of being a Democrat. By this time in history . . . when we talk about what a Democrat is, I think being pro-choice is an essential part of that."

This is an easy fix for them actually. If they test negative ad all the time then surely they have examples ready to go for the other candidates too. They should just put them out there to clear the air around this problem of theirs.

They can start with their negative Bloomberg ads.

god, its going to be fun throwing out trump's epstein connections and watching trump supporters unable to what-about-it. already readying those chris hansen bernie memes in preparation.
For real. Trump's impeachment lawyer also got a massage at Epstein's residence too lmao.
It's always hilarious to watch the QANON folks claim Trump is working to take down an international Pedo ring run by Epstein and the Clintons when Trump was allied with Epstein.

The Bernie crowd needs to go all in with this if he gets the nomination.

Yup. I don't see him winning the primary.

That said EVERYONE says that every candidate but the one they support can't beat Trump. One of the reasons I find political discussion so insufferable this cycle.
